This is How Silver Bars are DONE! (Warning: This May be Addictive)
In this video, I'll take you step-by-step through the process of making silver bars, which I recently had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand. I was fortunate enough to be invited to Jim Forsythe's metal shop at Silverback Precious Metals, along with Ian Everard from ArkSilver, where we learned the ins and outs of silver bar production. We'll cover everything you need to know about casting silver bars. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this insightful and educational video. Cheers!

4:53 - 6:20 Flashbacks of the Disney's Johnny Tremain come to mind. Careful there fellas.
Pretty impressive. Have always wondered how bars were made. Thanks.
Fantastic silver pron here. Smashing. Great work all: Jim Forsythe, Ian Everard, Rob Kientz Approximate turnover for 100 bars: linux> units -t "100 * 1000 ozt XAG (1/ozt)" "million USD" 2.522 using current (fake) spot prices: linux> units -t XAG USD 25.22 linux> units -t ozt troyounce = 1|12 troypound = 0.031103477 kg units from GNU Stay safe in that workshop. Clearly lots of opportunity to squash an arm or to get badly burned.
Man oh man! I have been purchasing silver bars for many years and I can certainly appreciate the work that goes into making these beautiful bars. I have just subscribed.
Great video. Didn't realize all the work Jim does to come up with these treasures. Loved seeing Ian, have had the pleasure to deal with him and his team and all are great people.

Addictive 😂 I only wish I had 1000oz. 🙂 WOW, on showing the production.
Super informative! I always wondered how those small cast silver bars were made. Great video! Myself being a CNC machinist I was shocked to see a saw cutting that Swiss bar at the beginning as opposed to a sheer or some kind of forming or fracturing method. Do you guys do anyting to collect the silver chips?
@forsytjr
11 ай бұрын
We indeed collect the chips and centrifuge, rinse, centrifuge again and repeat. Then into the granulator. They cast great.
Badass video guys! 🔥🔥🔥
Very kool!
This is so cool. Amazing to see it like this.

What is the reason for the vacuum portion of the furnace? We have a furnace at work for tool steel i was gonna put one of my molds in it and see how the shot melts into the mold vs pouring it into the mold. Im wondering if it work without having the vacuum portion
How does the process affect purity? You start with 9999 but then introduce shavings from the saw, crucible material, etc. Basically all the stuff that wears out ends up in the silver. Negligible?
Love silver am a stacker.
Very cool. Thanks Rob, Jim and Ian. True Patriots. God Bless and Congratulations 100 thousand ounce bars. Thats impressive 👍😎

There’s probably over a kilo of silver in shards around the cutting machine You ever thought about cutting it hydrologically? Using something similar to the jaws of life
That was a "Great" set up. That being said, it showed me that making bars is better left to the artists/artisans/and commercial professionals.
That was awesome guys. Jim has got his work down to an art. And unboxing that 1000oz silver bar got me wowing and drooling.

Great Vid! That big bar WAS too nice to cut up! I thought you'd use one of those ugly star ingots! My friend and me were going to purchase a 100oz bar together and cut it with a hack saw...good thing we didn't or it would have been instant scrap. Laser burning the numbers on the bars makes them BETTER than COINS I think!
I want 2
