Don't feed the fans' imagination. And if they're dating, just say, "My heart is taken." or something like that. There's no need to reveal who's their partner if they don't want to. Then, handle the security. This is just my personal opinion. It's up to the idols. I think it's better to come from the idol's themselves as the official statement, rather than finding through dispatch. Some fans will get mad but over time, the news will die down.

By not doing that (or doing it less often), there would be less delusional fans and crazy people who think that idols only belong to them. That would give those “fans” a reality check.

There was restriction on bts but at the initial year of their debut. From about 7 years BTS are free to do whatever they want. They were even free to date openly. But they choose to play safe. They could have atleast shown their interaction with females like they are doing now

Thank you for that video. Actually I never thought deeply about that moment of idols life. And now that made me analyze a little bit more the marketing side of that industry. Idols bring too much profit to the agencies, so they can’t risk their reputation. In comparison with western celebrities, they have already enough paparazzi’s attention - we all see that craziness about airport arrivals and night events after hotel check-in. At least private life should stay really private :) whilst agencies can’t actually organise it and take all risks because of special fan service and culture inside this industry, they tend to postpone and restrict any relationship with various agreements. But indeed, all idols are very young people, I’m sure that it brings more value to their career path than disadvantages. Mistakes of the youth will never let you get your time back. And prime time of most idols is 15-25 y.o. So it’s ok to help them think more about career. It’s only a pity that they look so out of place when meeting other idols anywhere

Im.ecstatic they date. I think its stupid crazy to sell the fantasy to teens they have a shot with them. They will never be in their inner circle. They agree to the restrictions when they sign the contracts but the when the reality of living by those restrictions hits it’s a different and very unnatural way to exist.

Yes, but usually that contracted restriction is for only 2 years or so. For some agencies that restriction has recently been lifted altogether. But many idols still prefer to remain dating privately due to some fans freaking out over it.

That's damn ridiculous

Honestly I’m ok with them dating in secret. Even if fans weren’t viciously delulu and were “ok” with their faves dating, they tend to get waaay too invested in their fave’s relationships and having strong opinions on what’s going on in their personal lives. Dating in secret like this is a hassle but in my opinion it should remain like this.

I think it's nice for it to be private for them only, but the problem is many of those idols could be fired if they were found out. That's the only part I take issue with. It's probably best to keep the relationships a secret to avoid nosey fans but they shouldn't have to worry about losing their jobs if they do get found out.

I seen a video of a very popular kpop idol walking with his staff to a car. The Paps were there, following them. There was a girl walking in front of the pop idol wearing a laniard with a backstage pass thing. (She didn't look happy) I sensed she was not part of the staff. She was the Idol's girlfriend. He had a smirk on his face, and even nodded his head yes to the camera (for some reason) 🤔I do believe they are mixed with staff. Very clever way of dating within the industry. The only thing that bothers me is that they have to lie and decieve their fans. It is part of the game I guess. The only thing also, is that where do they go to date comfortably and not be recognized?

The entire S. Korean Idol industry must stop this dangerous facade. Fans will always be drawn to the K-pop artists because of their beautiful talents and their personalities. Creating the possibilities that a young person could result in a lasting relationship with an Idol is extreme cruelty, and when it has happened, the agencies don't want that either. It's time to take a big change in this industry and leave the artists' private lives to be managed by the artists themselves. This change of all out awareness that Idols do have personal lives will hugely decrease stalkers and potential psychos that can actually physically hurt a life and even cause a death. This brings another seriouse matter. These agencies must stop parading the Idols at the airports. It's the agency's opportunity for free publicity but they are not caring about exposing the lives of the artists to being attacked by some kind of deadly poison being released in the air near the artits or acid getting thrown in their faces or even a gun shot. The world keeps getting more dangerous every minute. The bodyguards can't do much to protect the lives of the artists we see it all the time that fans are able to touch the Idols. These agencies must stop this deadly abuse to the artists. The agencies are propagating these potential catastrophies, and there will be families that won't quietly accept this. These kids do have powerful families. To the fandoms, if you really care about your Idols protest to the agencies. Don't just write your comments about the fans crowding them in. That does nothing for the artists, but let's you have hot air, non productive venting.

It is very sad to satisfy a dysfunctional society. Crow up People . Something is seriously wrong. I feel so bad for this wonderful Artist . Nobody , NOBODY should put their life on hold for uneducated and backwards people! You should respect the Artis for their profession and NOT RUN THEIR LIFE.

This is just dumb. I don’t know why fans would want to be lied to because they are insane rather than just accept what is absolutely, definitely happening. The whole industry should just immediately and completely stop the silliness. What, are all of the fans going to just stop consuming KPop material? Of course not.
