Thanks so much for sharing man, this hits home for me. 99% of your story matches mine, from hating your family bcs of genetics, reddit stories, and full out depression. Hello again Juan. I'm really glad this video reached the right person. Even though it doesn't help directly, sometimes just hearing that you're not the only one suffering greatly from hair loss makes a world of difference. Very similar story here, man. I was a defuse thinner, and by 21, it was gone. I can barely describe the burning anger and the shame, never leaving the house without a hat, Etc. Just the overall lack of empathy from other people...even my mother. It was always "get over it" or something like that. Tell you what, when you miss out on an $18 an hour job opportunity because you blow the interview, then you can tell me to "get over it"! But you know what the worst part of it all is? I feel like my youth was stolen. I didn't get to experience my twenties; I went from being 21 to 52 instantly.

Nah, we haven't seen each other for other reasons. So yeah I've been trying minoxidil, Nizoral shampoo, micro-needling, and I'm going to get a lasercomb next. So far the front looks okay, but the spot in the back is just not filling it at all, I don't know what's going on with that

I can relate. I started thinning when I turned 19 and I’m about to turn 21. It nearly ruined my entire life with anxiety and depression. I almost got expelled from my university. I felt like my youth was stolen from me when my life had hardly begun. I started taking finasteride and I’m debating whether to commit to minoxidil or not.

This really resonates with me. I totally get what you mean about starting over and leaving the past behind. I was in a toxic relationship for years, stuck in a job I couldn't stand. I was working so hard to support this girl who claimed she was too ill to work, that it made ME ill. I shed A LOT of hair in a short space of time. It was mortifying. But, I finally got a reprieve - the relationship ended and I finally had control of my life back. So I quit my job, and enrolled in a coding boot camp. Started my life over; feel like a whole new person (most of my hair came back too, now taking fin to keep it that way). Never going to let to other people define who I am ever again. Whatever the cost, whatever you have to sacrifice - you have to strive to be the best version of yourself, and try to live the best version of your life.

I don’t usually post comments, but you spoke on so many things that I can relate to. I just had to show some love. From the sobering hair experience in its entirety, to the teasing from family, to finishing my degree at 28 and I myself now trying to find a fulfilling job at 29, wanting to move away and form a new identity, all while not being in the best head space. Anyway, as relatable as I feel to you with our struggles, I find your demeanor and personality refreshing and inspirational. I’ve been going through similar hair stages since I was 19. I feel like I’ve held onto the last bit that I still have up top, because I’ve been buzzing my hair down low since I was 22. I’m hoping I have enough hair to possibly get enough revitalization somewhere close to where you are, without a transplant. I’ve been skeptical of any restoration methods I’ve seen over the years, but you’ve shown me a method that I think might work for me and I can at least try it without breaking the bank. I just started minoxidil and finasteride and I’ve also got the dermaroller, pomade and toppik on the way! Keep up the good work my brother and blessings to you and your family.

My hair loss paralleled with LeBrons around my mid 20s. Hearing people joke about his hair loss only reinforced what I knew people were saying about me. I was very depressed and isolated myself from others and stopped going to bars/clubs. The little bit of confidence I did have was gone with my hair. My relationships with women suffered because I began to have performance issues as a result of depression. I felt hopeless and had a "why me" attitude. In 2013 I began shaving my head and wore a hat in public everywhere I went. I thought about getting smp but didn't fall through with it. It wasn't until October 2019 I began hearing Tory Lanez hair restoration story and felt like I had some hope. In March 2020 I had a HT done overseas before Trump closed the border. So far so good and I am beginning to get my confidence back at age 35. Thank you for sharing your story and being an inspiration for us men going through the struggle

Keratin Brotherhood Great! I would love to buy and support your products. Another product which I use which you may not have considered is the eyeliner which is sometimes use to help thicken my sideburns or fill in the hairline. If done correctly it can look very natural and you have a lot more control over it over hair fibers! And they are inexpensive to produce so potentially a good starting point for you.

I feel you man it's a sort of physical change that takes away part of you. I used to truly love getting a haircut now going to get a cut is a dread feeling like soon shaving my head will look better hoping to get a fut procedure done in the future as the number of grafts that can be harvested is higher. Noticed these so called fue mega sessions often leave doner areas looking over harvested.

I’m actually 41 years old and have been using hair fiber since I discovered it I wanna say about five years ago due the hair loss . I made a mistake not washing the hair fiber out for days at a time just because I would hate waking up and see it myself in the mirror. Anyway, I shaved my head during the quarantine and I absolutely was like no way do I wanna look like this so for the couple months I’ve been doing lots of research on hair implant surgery and I’ve noticed not everyone has good results however I’m gonna give it a try . I can relate to everything your saying. Keep the good content coming!

It's really disgusting and sad how much hairloss can have an impact on us, and on the same scale disgusting how it's just brushed of by society. I've had this surreal feeling till 4months ago, 8 years ago I started balding and am prob NW4 by now. Starting with Fin next week and hope I can just get some density back, don't even care about having good hair, but just hair and appear normal to not be controlled by this shit anymore. All this fearmongering pisses me off so much, we could've probably avoided so much struggle if we'd just take Fin from the first day we noticed hairloss. I had barely temple recession when I got Fin on my hands and didn't use it because I got so scared of all the horrorstories. And as you said for me aswell hairloss felt unreal, like it's never gonna get THAT bad, like it can't happen to me, just temporary, there's no way right. I was oblivious to it all. So every year it got worse, and every year it was a spiral of accepting it and moving on. Shaved it 4 months ago and it hit me, it's not surreal, that shit is happening and I got to act. Took a week off and read all the studies, and I'd kick my old self in the nuts for not taking it back then if I could. No meds in my life would be that unhealthy to me as my selfperception and being in my head for too long during the bad times caused by hairloss. And btw all studies show the same, it's extremely save if we keep taking it at 1mg. Thank you for sharing your story!

A, brother I feel for you. It sounds like hair loss really hit you hard. I also carried the same regret about not starting fin sooner, but you are taking steps to be proactive instead of passive and that’s the best course of action. Succeed or fail, until you explore and exhaust all of your options, there’s hope. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you. Let me know how it’s going from time to time. -DJ

Dude, this video has been a real eye opener for me! I am just in the beginning of my "baldness", and I am on the level of "nah, this is temporary" just like you were. My father is going bald just now in his 50s, but I have always been more "manlier" than him, so I am not surprised it started sooner and our family baldness is not so severe so I really have my hopes up and thank you! THANK YOU for sharing, cuz this really made me take action and maybe I will have good results based on the fact that I am starting early. So thank you a third time and also you seem like a really cool guy, watched a few others of your vids (very informative) and I will continue to do so. You have been a real help!

The way a lot of people keep telling me I look good shaved and as much as I agree WOW options would be amazing! While losing my hair I discovered and emersed myself into the natural hair movement on KZread (the irony of a black guy losing his hair looking for tips to take care of it from ladies) and realised that we do not know how to care for our hair. Before the lose got really crazy, I had the healthiest hair in my life (also discovered a guy called Will from Will on a Whim, shout out!) Found a hair regrow clinic and they helped for a while but eventually my hair decided to thinning again. By Grace, it has finally slowed down. Watching this channel has shown me there is still hope. There is still time. I cannot wait to get myself a new derma roller and get started. Thanks DJ for the inspiration.

Gary, I can imagine you must be going through a rough time due to hair loss. One of my biggest regrets was letting my own insecurities erode several relationships that I have not been able to recover. Girlfriends aside, I began lashing out at many people and I felt terrible about it for years. I've reached a point in my life where I understand that self-forgiveness is powerful, but I still would try to be a better person if I could go back to that time in my life. I'm sure you'll get there eventually. But if it's any consolation, you can scroll through the comments below yours and see that many of us share this trouble and cope with it differently. Some better than others. Hang in there! -DJ

I feel what this dude is talking about. I don't have the confidence to shave my head or leave without a hat on. I don't care what anyone says losing hair is fucked up and one of the worse things that happens to us. People always say your hair doesn't define you. It may not but it damn sure helps with confidence. I rock what I call the Kobe cut. Very low with a barely visible tapeline. That's why I jumped on microneedling and anything else that I can do to help. In all honesty what else do I have to lose right?
