safest place in the world indeed ..even for female tourists..ask a single woman to take a taxi alone in india ..you will see what would happen then .

I am in Sharjah but travels Dubai also. I have gone with many taxi drivers with different nationalities and the main problem they say that they don't get paid and depends on the commission. Also they get many trafic fines due to unknown mistakes and it seems that these taxi drivers are not happy with their job. This is how their feed back to their valued customers.

The taxi service is good. But I can imagine the drivers are working on 12 hour shifts and under paid

Yeah seems like a struggle. My estimate is they charged 5 dirham for maybe 600 metres. Thats how it was in the comouter screen.

Dubai taxi is worst when ever i use dubai taxi there drivers are crying no salary just fines and when i ask them why don’t you leave and do another job same reply from every one ☝️ we have to pay our fine first and if we leave this job they will ban on us its sad i am sorry for all drivers and guys please give them little respect b polite with them they are also humans peace ✌️

Because the scamming is out of control.

I spoke to few taxi drivers in Dubai and they all told me similar issues about fines, 12 hours shift 7 days and with no salary only commissions, I think Dubai taxi can step up with some better programme for this hard working drivers

I am sorry to say that but texi job is so hard becuse no weekly rest and daily target is so deficult for new drivers..and so many fines so please give us accoumdation and basic sallary..!

In Dubai on holiday from England. I was leaving the marina with family and got into a taxi to get to my hotel. On the way we went on a motorway and he pushed everyone in the fast lane and felt like he was exceeding the speed limit Edit: Other than that the taxi drivers are very nice and welcoming.

I was always leaving them tips when in Dubai. When drunk, even 5-10 AED. :)))

Wow great detail here about transportation. Taxis in USA are not secured this way. You have a very intense tracking program here. May be because of the number of visitors.

All these technologies are great for both protecting riders & drivers but this live listening & Video recording is bit privacy intrusion to listen business deals & intimate moments of couples. Mind U I'm for the recording to be retrieved when ever there is criminal activities is going on but not Live Listening & Recording.

agree but i dont think their intention is to listen to conversations although arguments being recorded is one thing. i think their intention for live feed is to protect the data rather than having to physically retrieve the data from the vehicle which will lengthen that 3day investigation plus it only takes a magnet next to the DVR in the car to clear / corrupt the data rendering it useless to investigators and hiding any tampering of the device.

Can’t they wait until they get to their own space? If so, then these ppl have problems with time management. These camera are their to protect you and the driver of needed.

I'm not on the street when I hire a Taxi, it's not like riding pubic Bus, forget about the intimate discussions.. are u telling me an example ; a meeting room in Hotel can be recorded live stream videos while business discussion is on ? I don't think so. Business dealings happens many places not only in the offices These video recording evidences authorities need only when there's act of crime happens & in That case they can retrieve particular vehicle the evidence they need. 15,000 taxi vehicles live stream recordings what are u collecting ? Live stream or not once the culprits Reliase there is camera in action the intention of criminal activities goes down drastically & that's what we all need to happen. I'm for the automatic Camera recordings when a passanger enters a taxi but not for live stream visual & audio recording.

Currently i think only Dubai has Uber and Careem(only the high end lexus cars) which would cost 3x more than a cab.

When you get in a taxi for a 3 min drive. ANd he makes sure to circle the city first and turns it into a 40 min drives smh.

Lol they assume that a complaint is about the taxi driver. I guess as soon as such call comes in, the driver is transported to the caning frame no matter what. I find it a bit scary that they also know the details of the customer. As soon as you land on Dubai Airport, they follow your footsteps everywhere. Special agents are ready to capture you when they find something of which they think you crossed a line.

I am in Dubai every month. But drivers does not know where is famous landmark Clock Tower. I am being ask for the direction coming from Stadium Metro. I always told them to use WAZE apps or their GPS. Pay them proper salary and give mobile phones for quick location finding rather more charge to the passengers for not knowing the correct route by the driver.

The amount of times the drivers didn't know where to go or took me to some other destination because "this one is better" or grabbed my phone off my hands to use its GPS or completely disregarded exact directions is too damn high. Talking about fines - how about you drive like a normal human being and don't use your phone behind the wheel? Are you fined because you are late to return your car? Learn to manage time. Don't want to waste time while driving? Learn the city, use GPS. Seriously, learn the damn city as you waste so much time not knowing where you are going. Dubai is a simple city to get to know. Use Google Maps or Waze, they tell you where to go and how much traffic there is. If you say 'We can't use phone' I say you're a liar as I see you do it all the time, only for things like WhatsApp. I've seen good drivers, some then moved on to Careem and Uber and other services and got paid more. But they could only do that because they were good in the first place. If you want people to respect you- give respect first. Are you surprised that people ask for good time management, manners, cleanliness and following road rules because in your country no-one usually cares about those things? Get used to it, you're not back there anymore. That's how things work here and in other developed places in the world.

This amounts as a commission are all black propaganda's. its all lie trust me. In my one year working here this company's, their main concern is for the daily profit of the driver. I have no comment with the technology or systems that they have. But how can they manage to provide those without addressing the driver's poor situation. Most of the staff that assists the driver's inside the operation division are very rude specially when you needed another taxi unit when your car needs maintenance. It will take hours for you to have that key, do you think that a driver can hit the daily quota?. Of course no. I know that this writings are useless, but I'm sure that it would be a little help for someone who plans to work with this and focus with other Companies rather than this one. Do you think that they can provide good customer service to the people while they cannot do it for their own people who work for them?.

Where can you find a company that having a day off once a week is not allowed?. A 12 hour duty on a daily basis. That is the reason why dtc taxi drivers are prone on road accidents and fines for violations.

Many of this applicant's failed the final test after the training and the money they paid for their visa is not refundable. One thing that caught my attention that made me decide to apply was the daily earnings of driver's each day, they said that you'll be getting 5000 to 7000 thousand commission and not salary. Dubai taxi drivers don't have a monthly salary. And if a driver wants to live in Dubai Taxi accommodation a driver need to pay a monthly rental fee, and you are not allowed to cook for your meal.

Sir, have a taxi driver job? Because, I have already UEA Driving license....

Rta people can not track dubai texi ... I forgot my luggage in texi .. I make complaint even report in police station but not good response from them.

Too much strict rule and doubt emoployee will cause a trouble for company.. thats what happening in UAE so take care

I was worked in taxi more then 6 years and got 53000 dirhams fines without any reason.and i was decided to be leave taxi job.And my company did not want to cancelling my visa.so i went to labour court and cancelled my visa.now i got another job.

It'll be great when automation takes over. The weakest point of public transport taxis is the drivers. Every journey you get the complaining about their salary, everything is 'too much problem in fact' and this is after they've gotten lost because they don't have the sense to use navigation to find Habtoor hotel.

That's a total bunch of BS. I know someone who left your hand back in a taxi and they could never trace the taxi or the driver and the bag was never found. These technology announcements are jsut publicity stunts. stunts.
