Eli played as the mayor of Halloween town. Lane was one of the children in the movie. And Earl was a ghoul. You definitely need to watch the nightmare before Christmas it’s a really good Movie.

Notice how Geoff sang oogie boogies line in the song. (I am the shadow on the moon at night, filling your dreams to the brim with fright) they were different characters from the movie Eli was the mayor and Earl was the behemoth.

I think your son was right about Eli. I think he did transform into the mayor from Nightmare Before Christmas lol

They did one for kidnap the sandy claus also from nightmare before christmas and I recommend that one you guys would like it it has Rachel potter also

I'm so glad you guys finally got to watch this one. This was a really amazing cover on their part. I think that you really hit the nail on the head about their theatricality. It is one of their single strongest qualities. I would say their strongest quality, but the vocal skill across the board (I love you Geoff, but you really are among giants in this group) is truly phenomenal. It's what sets them above everyone else, in my book. In any event, in the same theme, you really need to listen to their cover of Grim Grinning Ghosts next! It's from even before JNone became part of the group.

Also, one thought that crossed my mind would be if you guys were able to do a livestream reaction to you watching The Nightmare Before Christmas together, since you've now heard VoicePlay's covers of a few songs from it without the context of the movie too go on.

Thinking of your family and hoping things are going well in the hospital! Okay, so in this video, yes, they turn into characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The Mayor if Halloweentown literally has two faces (nice political commentary there), which is why Eli had half his face one way and the other different. Each face has a different voice too. Also, the character Earl turned into, the Behemoth, actually DOES have an ax in his head. It’s never explained why. The vampire and werewolf were somewhat generic citizens (though Geoff makes a fine looking vampire!) and Layne, I THINK, becomes one of three kids in Halloween town, nasty little kids (hence the axing of Earl) who looks like a devil.
