This Is GREAT NEWS for Netflix's Avatar Live Action!

Ойын-сауық

So recently something pretty interesting has happened, and it might suggest that there’s something ahead for the live-action Avatar adaptation created by Netflix. Back in 2020, Michael Dante DiMartino, the co-creator of the Avatar franchise and lead contributor to all of the shows, made a statement on his website and social media informing people of the status of the Netflix adaptation as well as his role in it. He basically announced that there were issues he wasn’t satisfied with and that he had left the project. He noted that the creation vision doesn’t align with what the creators wanted for their franchise, and he said that while the adaptation might be good, he didn’t want anything to do with it.
Well, lately, the statement seems to be removed from his personal website, which is a major way that he communicates with fans. His blog has been inactive for years, and was also that way before he posted his announcement. His instagram is more active, but still barely posted to, only a few times a year. The post is still on his instagram, which makes some people doubt that the statement has been retracted. However, it should be noted that on his website’s about page, he still links to the now removed blog post, so it’s unlikely that he’s really considered or yet gotten around to removing it everywhere.

I have a feeling it would have been different if they stayed on this project. Like they would want to rewrite the show rather than do the original cartoon any justice. So I’m actually glad that they just ended up leaving the project because I prefer to have a more faithful adaptation.

Foreal. We saw what they did with the lore in LoK. Not a bad show, just feels like cheaper writing and etc

From what I've heard that's why he and Bryan left. If they had gotten their way everything about the characters and the world building would have been unrecognizable. So them leaving actually excited me rather than leaves me worried.

This could be a scenario where they actually saw the show and changed their tune on how it was done since a lot of the shooting of the show was done while they weren't there to supervise it

I'm happy that things are working out. What the creators have to understand is that they have a lot to gain from the success of the series (even because Avatar Studios suffered several casualties and layoffs). Despite creative differences, they should be the first to come to the series' defense.

In a distant future, within that AU of Capcom/DC/ShonenJump, I’m planning to name The New: 53. I hope to mixed the worlds of Final Fantasy: 16 and Avatar: The Last Airbender through World Building, by making the story of Clive Rosfield be a retelling of the story of Wan: The First Avatar.

dimartino always struck me as the more forgiving of the 2. i wouldn't be surprised if bryke decided that he is enough to rep for the 2 of them in the premiere. if the pilot was bad by dimartino's standards, i'm sure that we would be hearing about it on their social media by now.

Isn't one of the creators of avatar a co-creator for the dragon Prince? Which is on Netflix?

If the show is good (and I believe it will be), these minor criticisms will decrease as soon as its release. One Piece also suffered a lot of criticism (more than avatar, actually), and It was a huge hit

@@MsAkatsuki09 the special effects are good, the casting is good, but the writing and pacing are bad, the characters feel like hollow versions of their original selves if the writing even lets them have a personality to begin with. Don’t get me started on the whiplash that is episode three and four with the plot trying to cram 4 different episodes from the cartoon into both with abysmal results. It’s just not very good :/

@@waltuh2412 I agree with some of the things you mentioned, the show does have problems... but there's a difference between having flaws and being a bad show. Every series has problems, especially in the first season. Episode 3 was indeed bad written, but does It means the whole show IS bad?
