In reality ETH transactions don't use that much electricity, and the network upgrade this year lowers it to next to nothing. Not to mention there already exists several blockchains that use magnitudes less power to achieve sufficient security and decentralization.

I get what you mean, Heroes sort of did it from what I remember, but it was only once or twice every two levels and was incredibly brief and repetitive at that. Special mention in my experience goes to Tails and Omega repeating certain lines up to three times due to the length of later levels. The Sonic cast having Guardians of the Galaxy (2021) style conversations and level long jokes would really spice things up.

I always like when game characters have random conversations outside of scripted events during levels. It's a great opportunity to flesh out group dynamics without getting too entwined in the plot.

You don't have to know much about Sonic lore to know that this would've been an accurate conversation they would have

So I did some research, turns out Miles "Tails" Prower is right. On average one NFT use 369 kWh. Enough power for 150 people (assuming equal energy distribution). In one case it was calculated that two used 175MWh. I thought he was joking, no way it uses that much, no he was dead serious about the math.

The funny part is that NFTs would theoretically work that way in the Sonic universe instead of being a scam. One can literally convert things to data, so one could do it to the emeralds(Actually happened at one point even) and have the hyperlink to prove ownership for when it's extracted from the computer again.

Honestly it'd be more interesting to see Knuckles getting used to technology, or really modern society. The guy spent his entire life on a floating island, guarding the Master Emerald without a hint of technology. Might be more interesting to see how he reacts in general. Knuckles got fooled by Eggman in Sonic 3 because he thought the Death Egg was an ancient prophecized egg that would hatch into a world destroying dragon (Chaos from Sonic Adventure essentially lol) and he thought Eggman was trying to get rid of it or something, it's in the manual. Later games have Knuckles frustrated and dealing with technology as well, like the Sonic Riders games. He gets driven around in a flying car and uses a hover board in those lol.

I would love an entire level's worth of dumb conversations.

It sort of happens in the game it’s based on as well. Not as complex and less the characters just hanging out and more “we’ve got to find a way to get out of this trap/take down that robot/open the door” spliced with some commentary on their surroundings.

This is a nostalgia trigger and a bad feverdream all at once. Definitely, the early 2000s Sonic games have a unique charm to em'.

Finally, a Sonic plot I can follow.

The voice acting was so incredibly good my mind didn't even want to recognize the first few lines as being new. I don't think you can do any better than that.

I love how it certain points, Knuckle's VA sounds like he's about to burst into laughter

the voice acting AND dialogue is incredible. shoutout to the Izziibel person, that Tails is definitely on point!

LMAO this is the best dunk on NFTs I have seen yet, it's such a good bit it's possibly even useful as a quick debunking. You guys absolutely nailed the characters and the delivery, too. The mixture of emotions in "You fell for a _scam,_ Knuckles..." is just perfect lol

This is so funny, I can't help it. The idea of the meaningless banter while a level begins being the subject of alteration. It feels so right that it may as well be in the game.

Then play the shitty new games or watch Sonic Boom, it's full of cringey internet humor and self deprecating jokes to supplement the complete lack of substance lol. Except it isn't as funny. This is basically all Sonic is allowed to be now, not even an exaggeration. Series hasn't been treated seriously or respectfully in over a decade at this point.

The voice actress for Tails was just great. Near perfect impression of Amy Palant.

I'm just loving the idea of your normal Sonic Heroes level and then you have a 1/1000 chance when you load the level that instead of the usual dialogue, they just talk about stuff like this for the entire level.

Getting into nfts is something I think Eggman would definitely take advantage of. Even better, Eggman has tricked knuckles several times before and I can imagine he would also trick knuckles into buying one

absolutely loving this as heroes-style dialogue, it lends itself so well to being a meme but especially with how great you guys match the voice acting
