Introducing DJI Zenmuse L2, our latest highly integrated LiDAR system designed for precise and accurate 3D data collection.
The Zenmuse L2 integrates a 4/3 CMOS RGB mapping camera, a Livox LiDAR module, and a high-accuracy IMU, all on a 3-axis stabilized gimbal. It can scan complex objects within an extended range and generate accurate point clouds faster. With a detection range of up to 250 meters and a reduced laser spot size, it can detect smaller and more detailed objects, even in dense vegetation, resulting in more accurate digital elevation models.
The Zenmuse L2 supports up to 5 returns, enhancing the capability to collect bare earth data. In addition, it supports two scanning modes, making it ideal for precise topographical survey scans. The IMU requires no warm-up time, allowing users to capture data immediately after powering it on.
The Zenmuse L2 can capture LiDAR and photogrammetry data simultaneously while maintaining True Color LiDAR data. It's the perfect tool for professionals in various industries, including surveying and mapping, energy, forestry, and construction.

This is also really valuable in save and rescue allowing to detect wrecked vehicles in dense foliage

so cool, we read about how lidar is used to discover ancient Mayan ruins in history class but they used small planes rather than drones, although this isn't new an improvement on the tech is definitely great

@@WernerBeroux well, ur government needs your real time location, so even if Chinese gov doesn't give a shit about your data, offline version is still not possible
It will definitely be an L1 LIDAR update. Let's see how it compares to the Rock Robotic R3 Pro

I can’t stop thinking of how to quickly shoot an area with the L2 to give visual artists a leg up by being able to lock CGI to any target or avoid foliage due to all the points it now can have to work on.🤯🤯🤯

Now it would be cool if you had AI fill in so the Drone fly back over the spots that need more detail and if you could use Google Maps to select large areas and have a docking station which should switch batteries automatically

Would it be possible to get clean 3D scans out of it so you can scan cliff for example and create a game asset? Or should I rather stick to the old school way with pictures? :)

you could use it to creat the base mold and photoimagery to use as paint with the maxon suite programs i believe. but im not familiar with the program file type theyd come as.
Can I strap this to a helmet and walk through a location, building, Filmset etc. and scan it that way ?
