Abandoned & Forgotten Places
Documenting abandoned mines like never before!
Let's take abandoned mine exploring to the next level!
With your support you can help make this the best abandoned mine exploring channel on KZread!
Shot entirely in 4K! ...so, turn up those video settings!
On this channel we go deep... REALLY DEEP into abandoned mines and tunnels all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hiked or 4x4 back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Many of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver, and other minerals.
A&FP moves just a bit slower as compared to other mine exploring channels. Gly discusses why the miners chose these sites and he points out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men lose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.
DANGERS? Oh yes, there’s allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders, and snakes all find their home in abandoned mine shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooded passages and collapsing rock!
Gly takes abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training, and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly”, your host and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob” (Gly’s Jeep), “Quackers” (Gly’s duck) and “Bobbie” (Gly’s hula girl) are sure to brighten your day with their comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.
Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST. (that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that subscribe button and bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!
Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT! All these things help grow our channel and your financial support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob, thanks you!
Ok, now for the ugly stuff...

"You're good at this, Gly." "Well, all you've got to do is look at the lay of the land. It just makes sense, from a geological standpoint." This right here is what keeps me coming back--the knowledge and expertise that comes from years of doing something you love.

Yes I would much rather spend my time watching footage from Gly and Mr. M, there are an awful lot of copycat attempts out there that have no business crawling around in the mines at all, walking about trying to talk about what they See and missing the most basic of names for the things they see, how they function what the purpose is, lacking in ability to hand off information about anything, or even getting within 50 years on dates for things. it's pretty sad when the copy cats have no idea how bad they look barely able to describe a machine or contrivance that they run across, knowing almost zip about the geology. And obviously they have been watching what our two guys do and try to include it their copy cat videos. its so bad, and those copycat guys are gonna end up getting themselves killed because they're not reading about it and learning about it and packing their brains full of knowledge, Desiring to wear the badge but not having earned it, with arrogance pushing them on towards their own demise. Thank you guys so much for not wasting my time and insulting my intelligence, your productions in my opinion are golden❤️

So FANTATASTIC! How often do you come across a 66 year old female who LOVED THIS! I went off road my entire life. Had everything I even could think I needed. I never got stuck. The difference: I am from PA. I lived near the coal mining region. I explored many mountain ranges in PA. I also learned I knew the owner of a mine that was being stated after 60 years. I drove to heights not many go. The highest point in PA plus exploring the ruined. I appreciate your knowledge of the workings of the mines. My hats off to you! I am not sure but I am thinking I'm the only "CoalCrackerInPA" who knows your site. I'm a fan forever!

Congrats to Old Bob on his first mine exploration. 🚙👍
The drive-in mine is cool, but we still have it easier sitting in our La-z-Boys at home. Loved the tutorial on the ball mill; I can't imagine how noisy and dusty it would've been during operation. The graffiti suits the blight of the urban landscape better, though the black & white/plasma torch stuff makes the buildings look as if they're in a video game; cool effect.

I’m delighted for old Bob’s first experience in a mine🤣 It was awesome to see a huge mine!
Just to add my 2 cents worth, lol. I use to drive my semi into mines in Missouri to deliver and make pick ups.just think Mr. M a thirteen and one half feet tall semi pulling a 53' box trailer and yes I would have to do backing in there, it was a trip. Old Bob now has a good story to tell Better Bob. Thanks guys and keep it up.
You an mr m are a great team love the show keep up the good work fellas
Awesome!!
For the intro, you should have a shot where the camera zooms down from space right at your house, and you're just napping out back in a paddling pool with a beer or something
Hey Gents who needs a Schnozzelator 5000 if you can drive Old Bob in there!!! Way cool guys we loved it!!!
I'm never one to subscribe after only one video let alone 8:55 into the first video but here I am stopping the video for a moment to hit subscribe and the bell , I'm an older fellow in my 60s and I've spent a lifetime climbing and crawling into places they say we shouldn't go ,lol. Already one of my favorite episodes. The plasma cut pictures were great. More pictures and maybe some drone footage of them would have been icing on the cake.
that was cool just driving in to the mine
Long ago Explore with us visited this mill and mine. I Remember the art and graffiti all over the mill. Was that a limestone mine tunnel you drove into? There was quartz visible on the back of the mine. Or calcite veins. I figured since it's in such close proximity to the mill it was a part of the gold mine. Great as always Gly and Mr.M. thank you for showing us.
@AbandonedandForgottenPlaces

“Gly”: We’re still not 100% sure what they were mining at the mine we drove into as there is no accessible public records. The rock was very close to becoming marble but because they were following a vein along the hillside tells me they were chasing after something more valuable.
