THIS is Colombia?! | Bogota Colombia Walking Tour

Only have 24 hours in Bogota??
One of the first things we'd recommend is to go on a bogota walking tour. Bogota, Colombia is an absolutely MASSIVE city and can be a bit intimidating, but free walking tours are a great way to get a local's perspective and their tips and tricks for how to best navigate their country. You might be asking yourself "is colombia safe to travel?" and "what are the best things to see in bogota?" - and a local will be able to answer all of these questions for you. Also, most cities offer free walking tours to any tourist who shows up at the right times. Click here to book the tour we took: www.beyondcolo...
Join us as we learn a little more about this incredibly vibrant and historic city on our Bogota Colombia City Tour!

Colombia gets a bad reputation for it's violent past, but it is such a vibrant culture and we are really excited to share some of our experiences. Bogota was one of the most unique cities we've been to and we hope you enjoyed the tour almost as much as we did!

Thanks Jojo! Yeah, we didn't even know that Encanto took place in Colombia (we hadn't seen it yet) but we had heard so much about how fun and colorful the movie was. It was really cool watching the movie later and seeing so many colombia-specific homages!

BOGOTA is a beautifully unique metropolis. As you mentioned, the old mixed with the new makes this vibrant city a must for tourist visiting South America. Looks like you visited the historic "La Candelaria" neighborhood and downtown. However, the northern section of Bogota tends to be more affluent section with trendy cafes, bars, dance clubs and fashionable boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana...and no graffiti. Enjoy!

Hey Ruth and Thomas! I'm so behind! Such a fun tour! It's good you've been carrying your backpack that way, I'm sure it will be extra helpful for baby wearing :). Covering up the river sounds kind of crazy, lol! The Justin Bieber graffit was awful. He should stick to singing. Chicha sounds good! It's a pretty city! I really would have thought they would have security to carry around emeralds! Crazy! Walking backwards, dodging poles, and giving information. I think you can be a tour guide Thomas! Most of the murals looked amazing. Loved the tour! So glad the US has toilet seats. Many of the places we went in Africa didn't have seats, either. Fun times. Thanks for taking us along!

Definitely agree Bieber should stick to singing. 🤣 I don't understand why they don't have toilet seats? Do people hover or stand on the seat? I'm still confused how people do it!

Addison is laughing. Our of all new upcoming parents, you guys did it right! Those fruits look kinda scary. Ruth is a natural on the voiceover.

We are currently living in Bogota, which is where Widny is from... And we both laughed pretty hard about your bathroom experience. It's pretty common across Colombia especially where there is old infrastructure or housing. So, it's necessary to carry around your own toilet paper and some hand sanitizer.

@@RuthandThomas 🥰 Thank you very much for answering, Medellin is currently the best destination in South America, even in November 2022 Medellin was elevated to the category of SMART TOURIST DESTINATION (the only one in Colombia and second in Latin America along with TEQUILA in Mexico), believe me you will love Medellin its climate It's perfect, that's why they call it "the city of eternal spring." I recommend you visit it in August so you can enjoy "the flower fair," which is the city's representative fair, and I also recommend that you visit the city in the wine season so that enjoy one of the 10 best Christmas lights on the planet, they are so famous that this Christmas season (December 2022 and January 2023) they were carried out in collaboration with Disney and in just 6 weeks they have already received more than 6 million visitors between nationals and foreigners .
