I had a similar joke in mind "what if we took secondary mechanics of Fancy Pants Adventure and made it into the core mechanics?" I remember spending a lot of time trying to get a combo pb, and those pretty hardcore challenges (IIRC) of moving ball from one place of the map to another, even though those were completely optional things for completing the game if I don't misremember.

I was actually just checking out this game, seems like a pretty cool premise!

soccer is one of those sports that would do so well outside of sports like idk if this game is any good yet but soccer is just such a good concept for games

so far just not enough replayablity but its a demo and the idea is great cant wait for hazards or items that change how aiming work and how other things work can definetly end up being very wacky it already looks very satisfying despite tyler hitting many unsatisfying shots definetly keeping my balls ready for this one

Lethal League has a mechanic where if the ball is moving at high speeds, and a player spikes the ball, the ball stops in place to 'build' up momentum. This allows players to time volleys and things.

Anyone else old enough to remember the game Soccer Kid from the early nineties? Reminds me of that a bit.

Also not the hugwst dan of association football, but this seems like a pretty fun concept! The execution still lavks, as you pointed out, but I'm sincerely hoping it improves by the time it comes out. I see a lot of potential in this game; sadly, a ton of the potential hasn't been explored yet, but, we'll see

In rocket League you can freeze the ball with a power up but it's only the ball and not any of the other players. It's a power up in power up mode.😊

He was talking about lethal league right? There is no slow motion in lethal league, but if you hit a high speed ball, the game will stop a little bit, giving a huge intensity, and giving everyone time to ready, not only adding the intensity in the game, but also giving the audience some breather.

The subway car and overall design are very reminiscent of the old game Flashback from Delphine Software.

This roguelike is made for me. I love soccer and love roguelikes

I do love me some big and bouncy balls, but I'm more of a volley player myself

I want to spend $5-$10 on this game and play it on a few lazy Sunday afternoons. But I’m probably gonna burn myself out on the demo over the next few days. A piece of advice to my friends, if you burn yourself out on a demo like this, or balatro, buy the full release even if you are like me and never open the full game.

Coincidentally, I stumbled upon Dungeon Golf earlier today. Name speaks for itself! Came out in November. Relatively high production values, but only 31 reviews. Maybe worth checking out!
