I'm surprised the Ref didn't use code of conduct on Hammamy for her blood injury outburst, that was so uncalled for. The shot after was probably a very close call.

Shame hammamy beat herself at the end there....she has the talent to win with the racket.

Yes and then looked at the ref like it was his fault for her losing the game (I thought her shot stayed in but as a professional it's her fault if she loses her cool on subsequent points).

Ref's call is the final call and Hammamy needs to learn that. Just like silly Gohar.

Hammamy threw that away from being angry and nasty when she could have won it with a cooler head- shame?

People commenting including the commentators clearly don't understand competing and how does it feel when someone cuts your flow, having adrenalin running through your veins during a close high stakes game. I don't blame her one bit. That being said, some people are right, some more control of her emotions would do her good.

The long 'jewelry' injury stoppage allowed for El Sherbini was a stupidity in itself and should never have been permitted by the referee.

@stevehughes1510 It was probably a wedding ring or another ring she had to wear for religious or commitment purposes. Therefore, I disagree with your point of view respectfully and think that you should not judge someone for their wearing something that is meaningful to them.

@@usert109 It's a sport and not the place for any form of bodily embellishment that could impede a players performance. Some people wear a chain around their neck for example which doesn't interfere with the activity. If Nour were to change what she wore not a problem however wearing that ring interfered with the flow of the match, the bleeding problem was self inflicted and shouldn't have been allowed, patch up the affected area and carry on immediately with no long stoppage.

Gamesmanship from El Shirbini pure and simple she has form. Did it very successfully against Laura Massaro. Naive referee.

The ref should have told Hammamy to shut up instead of calling one of her good shots out lol.
