    Fantastic refereeing

Great game! One of the most consistently intense and fast-paced games I've ever seen. It confused me that the score said Match Ball when it was only Game Ball. And looks like Gohar got a bit of racket or strings on the forehead on the last shot

The astounding thing to me is that at 2.57 Gohar hit the ball into the tin.........but there's no sound, that's ludicrous, we called it 'the tin' back in the day and you knew when it hit the tin, now it's the 'soundless board'......lol.

This is only a guess, but isn't the tin the angled piece above the board? If it's so low that it goes below the tin angled piece then you surely must see that and don't need a noise.

@@ssnova3210 Back in the day the whole thing was called 'the tin' and was made of tin with usually a red painted top 2" or so, there was no confusion with that, it was a load noise when hit it as you can imagine. Most squash clubs would still have that. Nowadays there's room for conjecture. With Squash being televised on the Pro circuit I can see why there's been a move away from a tin tin as such.

is it mandatory in squash to throw the racket, scream and punch the glass when you win? I may need to include it in my routine then

Squash is mind intensive, your reaction to a win at world level is beyond comprehension. Afterall, does it affect play when the whole match is won, no, because it's all done with.

Why is the ref silencing the crowd though? Is it forbidden to cheer in squash?

How would you like it in your match ball when the crowd are cheering your opponent? People who can't be silent and be respectful ought to stay home and watch it.

Cheering is very distracting. In between points is okay of course, and people clapping for nice rallies or shots is great! But not during a rally
