15 years ago, I have a client, one of the most famous and well known fashion brands, they sent me a 2GB photo. There was a model who took about 1/3 of the image, when I zoom into her eyeballs, I was able to see all the shooting set up in front of the model.

It's interesting how much paint emulation has moved on in the past ten years. I remember when I first saw Corel Paint and its autopaint feature, and being blown away by the realism, but the Real Paint effect is really rich and works inside Photoshop. "For years, the paint effects in Photoshop set the standard" - said no-one, ever.

@yofi2614 Corel can auto paint pretty well, although takes a lot of tweaking to make it look good. I don't think the surface reflections and texture look as good on Corel but it can emulate a lot more styles, including pastels, chalks and watercolour.

Unmesh, complicated is an understatement. I downloaded the action then it got complicated with the orange-box. I ran the action and it stopped and it asked to continue. I said yes. It was like this until it stopped altogether. It did not complete. I have done this before and I have the same problems.

I was having a trouble getting the same results as you were getting. Also I was unable to see the groups on the right side. I just got 10 layers maximum. The resulting photo looked so fake and then I tried to find a solution to this. Then I figured that i was using adobe photoshop 18, and you were using photoshop 2020. I got my adobe updated and this oil painting effect is working exactly the same way as shown!

@Ali Hassan Im using photoshop 2020 and i tried this but it gets stuck 'effect layer 03- fe 001' for like an hour and I had to restart my laptop. I've tried this three times. Do you know why this is happening? I'm pretty new to photoshop so I do not know.

@@sud_a2497 hey, maybe try reinstalling your photoshop? I faced this issue with other actions but uninstalling and installing photoshop again fixed the problem for me.

@Nate Jones it was an hahnemuhle Photo Rag Bright White 308gsm. But on Google you can find a lot of stuff it depends also on your location. If you want to print by yourself I reccomend downloading the paper profile of the most characteristic-near TOP printer listed on the paper manufacturer website. Just don't use a poor quality printer. Right now I'm starting to follow a webinar about perfect prints and I have a good base of know-how about this topic but you need to learn a lot of stuff to print in consistent and predictable ways.

Hello! Question: I've downloaded the free tool (oil paint - not this one) and it works great. However, I would like to use that effect as a part of an Action, but being an extension, the action of pressing a button in the extension panel does not register. Hi! In Photoshop cc 2019 , i ran real paint fx using fx box . So I ran this script and it took a good while but it finished, but now seems to be stuck on a Black screen. I have tried marking different layers visible or invisible, etc, to try to see what’s stuck, and it’s just stuck on Black, even when I set the View to ‘fit artboard to screen,’ etc. Plz help ...😢😭😰

I got the same problem. I went to preferences, general, performance and unclicked use graphics processor. This took care of my issue. Hope this helps.

Just save the psd file while its on black screen dont touch anything. after saved close it and open the psd file.

Once I download the files and unzipped them (Paint FX) file wasn't included Please Help!

When I click on the FX installer it says not usable installer...

I tried running this with PS 2022 and it wouldn't get passed the second generated layer. To fix this, I opened the Preset Manager (Edit/Presets/Preset Manager), selected "Tools" from the drop down menu, and then I clicked the load button. The file you want to load is Real Paint FX Tools.tpl, which can be found within the "Use as ActionScript" folder.

This is a photo editing channel. There are tons of other great channels focused on video editing, audio synthesis, etc. for professional-end outputs.

I have a very important question, please answer! It's easy to select/mask an object using pen tool or any selection tool, IF the object is sharp edged, all-focused, or the resolution of the picture is enough efficient. But, if the picture doesn't have enough pixels, has shades at the edges, or the edges are so blur, especially happens when the object isn't plain at all, the focus is on the object's front areas and when it goes to the edges, it gradually becomes blur. I think you get it. So when I select the object, either it kinda includes a little of the background too if I use feather, sharpen the edges if I don't use it, or it cuts a lot from the object if I shift edges a little inside. It sucks when I use different background. It doesn't match in anyway. Please answer and fix my problem. Sorry for my English, I'm not native. And I know couldn't present it properly.

dear Unmesh i've been watching your videos for quite sometime and you have no idea how much you've helped me ! thank you so much for this amazing channel ! i wanna ask you something i hope you can find the time to reply to my question .. i've downloaded the plugin and did the installation steps exactly like you showed us in the video the only problem is that i can't add any filters and i don't have the folder (real paint effects) there's only one folder when i extracted the ZIP file of the plugin so what should i do or where can i find the (real paint effects) ?

It doesn't work. Tried it and a bunch of the other filters this Orange Box fella sells. Only one works and that's the watercolor. Avoid Envato it's a scam site, none of the sellers/authors on this site have been properly vetted. Don't waste your time or you money.

The program dialog box suggested "load as brushes" I did at first, it didn't work for me as it did for you, so i rechecked the video to see you chose "load as tools" . I uninstalled the extension from the fx box window, then re-installed and it wont give me the option now.. how do i fix?

You need to delete all brushes starting with FX from Brushes. Then go Brushes and click on the wheel icon. Choose Load Tools Preset. Find the .tpl file in the folder where you installed the Real-Paint-FX. The path shall be like this: Use with FxBox>Real-Paint-FX>Real-Paint-FX>lib>Real-Paint-FX.tpl Double click on .tpl file and choose Load as a tool. That shall help. At least for me it works.

Hi. my computer has 24GB of RAM, and I can't run this plug-in completely. My system runs out of memory before it finishes even on a 500x725 8-bit JPG file. Did you face any such problem?

(original)Phil Pape For those that are getting the plugin stopping after 2 layers, I found I did the install wrong and did not click load as tools as directed I clicked load as brushes. The fix was to go to the lib folder and double click on the Real-Paint-FX.tpl icon. That launched the dialog box and you can click the correct option. Hope this helps

My friend to me: Me watching other channels : "Oh you watching KZread?" . . . . . . . . Watching Piximperfect : "Oh wait Have heard this sound! Is it Unmesh?"

The plug-in is not working for me. I purchased and installed and when I run the plugin it creates 2 layers a selection layer and a large brush layer and just stops. Photoshop is still working so it's not crashing. I am on version 21.2.0 of PS if that helps. any help would be appreciated

@@edkelly145 someone in the comments below offered a solution that worked for me. "For those who opened it as Brushes. Go to Documents\OrangeBoxTemp\Real-Paint-FX\lib and then open the Real-Paint-FX.tpl with photoshop. The dialogue box will show again. Then select Load as tools. Cheers! " I was just able to open the .tpl file and then it started working.

Will the process be much faster on a flattened layer as opposed to doing it over multiple psd layers?
