Awesome! Thank you so much for this technique! I tried several times and realized this "Art history brush" tool doesn't work with just regular brushes. This tool works only for the special "Art history brush preset". I just downloaded your "Art History brush" and realized each brush has the "Art History brush icon on the upper light side corner and those brush only working well with Art history brush" tool!

I've downloaded and attempted to load your free history brush presets unsuccessfully. Initially I got an error message but now when I download it the icon is grayed out.

samething happens with me . did u get solution?

Message "could not rasterize as pixel data for layer not directly editable" when using the art history brush. However, I have rasterized the layer, which makes no difference. Cannot find solution on line, and would appreciate your help, many thanks.

moi aussi, j'ai des problèmes. C'est quand même pas compliquer de creer un calque blanc et ensuite un calque transparent et de peindre dessus avec un pinceau..... soit qu'il y a un problème dans les préférences. Je vais même passer un mode 8 bit, modifier la taille et refaire un nouvel instantané. Je vois quelque chose de vague sur le calque transparent mais pas la modifiction vue sur la vidéo

What is your phototshop version please? Mine is CC 2022, and I tested the brushes on all versions starting from CS6.

@@Pixivu I'm not able to load tools either. My error reads, "Could not load tool presets “Art History Tool Presets by Pixivu.tpl” because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." I'm on the current most Ps update (5/2/22).

Increase the image size, export as jpg, import it again and redo the process.

Mine looks nothing like this. It just fills with white, not color.

This does not work, I'm constantly getting rasterized errors or history layer errors

Guys make sure to import your photo or the effect will not work
