Any ice cream lovers out there? Prepare to get your mind blown when you hear about Turkish ice cream - IT DOESN'T MELT!
No matter where you go in Turkey, you can find men wearing traditional Turkish clothes, and serving fresh ice cream from a long metal stick inside of a deep bucket. The consistency of the ice cream is incredibly thick, and it really does not melt!!! Because of its thickness, the vendors will often play games with you when you try to buy ice cream, making you look like a fool on the streets in public.
Today, I went to the city where Turkish ice cream was invented (Kahramanmaras) with one mission in mind -- to tell you the full story about how ice cream became such a popular thing in Turkey!

OMG, I cannot believe you were in my hometown!! If I knew about your channel at the time you were planning to come here, I would really want to guide you around the city. It is true that the city has almost zero tourist attraction sites and you could be one the very few foreign tourists who actually decided to visit this city.😅 However, the people here are just as friendly and hospitable as all other Turkish people. *FYI* Turkish Ice cream or Dondurma was founded or should I say imported in Turkey around 1850s so like only 170 years ago. And Booza basically the same thing was invented 500 years ago in an eastern pocket of the Mediterranean, encompassing modern-day Lebanon, southern Turkey, Syria and parts of Greece. It was never only Turkish!!!!!

I love everything when it comes to do the Turkish cuisine, the ice-cream is just the best for me the hard texture, it does not melt & most importantly the motivation of these workers to do cool tricks with the ice-cream, it just entertains me & gives me a better feeling while trying this amazing ice-cream!

I had seen a video about this Turkish ice cream. And I was so shocked. These guys are awesome. I love Turkey now for their food and their historic cities which doesn't need any introduction. Thank you Drew for showing beautiful countries like this.
I love the whole video but I love the absolute last scene (in the extras) where they're ringing everyone's door bell to get to a balcony... Imagine how relaxed and connected they must be in Turkey to feel free to do that... That's what happiness looks like (not collecting stuff miserably in our houses, not sharing with others, like in the west...there are good things in the west, just not that)

Poland is so beautiful! I visited Wrocław once and it was the best city I have ever been to. So clean and I felt so safe, walking the streets at night! The people are so kind aswell!
