I have never seen a man before Tupac or after Tupac Shakur that can speak so well of what it's like to be a single mother like he does it's like he's taking the words right out of our mouths ❤️💖

Tupac made a song for black women to keep their heads up despite the hate and trials they went through alone. Mastermind and a man of his time and our time. Tupac was mainstream and made a track for black women instead of clowning them for using the system and being single mothers. The men of today would never speak about women the way Tupac did. Tupac will truly be missed

"And since a man can't make one, he has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one" the beauty of that lyric is hard to describe I'm about to turn 25 and to think he was killed at 25 years old makes me so sad he accomplished so much in his short time on earth one of the best ever period

Asia and BJ. Great reaction! This one hit home. I married my wife when her son was 1 year old. “Dad” was gone and rarely to be heard from again. One of my best memories was buying him his first crib and singing to him at night, through that crib, to put him to sleep. And then seeing my daughter being born a couple of years later. 22 years have passed and, he’s a fine young man and she’s a great young lady. Although my ex and I divorced a little over a year ago, I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to raise them and love them. Dads (or Moms) who walk away from this are missing out. My son still has abandonment issues to this day but he’s learned to deal with it. We talk nearly every day still. Sorry for rambling. Just thought I’d share a slightly different perspective as a dad that took in a child. I’d like to think his life was a little better to have me with him but, I can assure you my life was better for having him with me! Much love, fam. ❤️

just wanted to share a story connected to the 2pac video... back in the early 90s i used to do graffiti... and just so happens that on a sunday afternoon in the east side area of los angeles me and a friend were painting on an abandoned lot ... and right when we were done we see a few vans and trucks pull up ... and we hang back... eventually we get aproached by someone from one of the vans ..he explains that they are going to film a music video ... as we are packing our things a group of people come by us and checkin out the art ... and till this day i wont forget it ... it was 2pac and some of his friends who are in the video ... everytime i see or hear this it brings back those memories of meeting one of the most realists rappers of all time ......

This is by far my favorite 2 Pac song (since I was in high school in the mid-90's. I'veheard this song about 500 times at least and still love it), so I knew that bit was coming. I looked all funny at the screen thinking, 'So, does Asia know this song?' Because you said that line really close to how 2 Pac said it. But ASIA! I know that all must've been rough to deal with. But it's not about the hell you've already encountered, it's about the heaven that's in front of you now. And you have that! And, while BJ may not be your son's bio dad, in some ways, a relationship between them is even more profound because BJ didn't have to love him. BJ chose your son. Powerful from that perspective isn't it? For BJ, I'm going to ask that y'all listen to He Didn't Have to Be by Brad Paisley. And for you, Blessed by Martina McBride. And if no one else has told you, I LOVE YA!

When my dad was out at sea with the II world war that was going on. At home he was a market Gardner, basically grew and sold produce from the land we didn't have animals! He'd hoped he was returning to rack and ruin, so like hero's returning he could rescue the family and they could eat! Deluded really, because no one knew how long they'd be gone or in fact if they returned or not or what state they'd return in too! But on his return his wife, son & daughter were collecting some corn that had done well, he felt redundant and grew in resentment! She had to do something!! They couldn't live on fresh air! No one can. Sadly the only glue that held them together was the old fashioned rules of the church and the resentment they felt independently toward each other, they never talked stuff through, never worked out their differences, they never grew up emotionally and kept each other trapped! So glad we had 2Pac, bless him and his words!

I was brought up in an environment where I really did not value myself and it led me to make poor choices in men. I just wanted to be loved when my family abandoned me because I was a bad kid. So I conceived children with a few men that didn't love me like I hoped they did. After that I got hard and I learned that I had to be better for my children. This song hit home. He had passed away when I was 15 but his song really comforted me when I was 22. Much love and respect to a rap icon. He is missed My daughter's father's never came around. They ended up in prison and when one of them got out, even though she never met him, she was so excited to get the chance. She did have a biological father and it meant alot. Before she got to meet her daddy he got shot point blank. Baby girl said "Even tho I never knew him, I feel like a piece of me is gone". Father's are important. If it's possible, don't keep your child's father away because you're bitter. If he is safe and a decent person to be around for a child, give them a chance to know their daddies. Men, try. Keep trying. Put your pride aside and keep showing interest. It matters to them.

I was single and in the military when I had my son, I raised him alone. But I had help my sister, mom they were both strong women. I lost mom in Sept I had never seen my son cry so hard, he's now 32. He has a great work ethic, single with no kids. Maybe one day. 3 strong strong women raised him and he's a better man because of it. He used to play Dear mama for me.

BJ you’re the father of ALL of your kids! It’s the other guys loss because you seem like a standup guy to me that’s gonna protect your family.

You need to react to 2-PAC “Dear Mama” as a perspective of a son of a single mother.

I've decided that my next tattoo is going to be from this song. Feels like Asia could have done with hearing this song years ago.
