We love a project car at Classics World, and Classic & Vintage Commercials Editor, Peter Simpson showed us his fully-restored 1958 Hillman Minx, we knew you'd love it too! Bought in the 1990s at auction, Peter has owned 'Minxy' for over 30 years, taking it on roadtrips to Scotland, Ireland and Wales, before completing extensive rust repair and restoration a few years ago. There aren't many Minxes left now, but this is surely one of the best!

Thanks for the viewing. I had one identical, and loved it! I fitted an Alpine floor change which was quite nice. I got caught speeding in Bulawayo Zimbabwe in 1973 in it. They said I was doing 75 mph, which when in court testified that the vehicle was not capable of that speed, especially in view of the fact that it had done 122,000 miles without an engine overhaul. Needless to say, I lost the case and lost my license for 6 months. Well done, the Minx!! Wish I still had it.
😂😅 This was Great. I could feel his passion and enthusiasm from here .A wonderful classic example to begin with always makes a huge difference !. This Takes me back to my childhood.................😊

He's done a great job!
My Mum & Dad were the proud owners of a 1958 Hillman Minx 826 AAF, in black livery, during the mid sixties. I had the pleasure of its washing and polishing. It took us on many journeys, an admirable motor car.

Superb little cars, great memory!
Absolutely gorgeous car. Rootes Groups cars were so desirable and none more so than the Audax models. My favourite manufacturer of the 'Big Four' . . . what a tragedy this legendary company did not survive and prosper as it should have done.

Thanks Jimmy!
I've seen it at NEC and it's a beauty !!
Lovely characterful car and top attitude by the owner. ‘ We are all but temporary custodians’, this one will be enjoyed by the owner for many years hopefully and then passed on for future generations to cherish and enjoy. 👍

Can't deny the pretty looks!
A lovely looking car - good to see Rootes motors getting some love these days, I gather they were very highly regarded cars before the later Chrysler years……..

The following is definitely growing!
Beautiful car. My father owned a 60s version when I was a child and it had a similar colour scheme from what I can remember. Great to see these still be well looked after 😊

Nice cars, very familiar from my childhood. I always liked everyday saloons, like this. They always have a lot of character. I think you were working on Practical Classics in the 1980s. Name sounds familiar. Michael Bowler editor that time?
My father’s 1961 3b 461ARY finally died of tin worm in 1977. Still sad at the loss.
