Your success with PF can be directly correlated to it surviving and send more scvs to repair, and your timing with supporting units got way better. Look at your earlier games to what they look like now. Your cheese is aging like fine wine as you tweak and refine it.

So his cheese is aging like……. Cheese?

That’s a really good point since pulling svc’s from the mineral line is what makes pfs unbreakable…. Transporting one inside it while it flies over and lands, to immediately repair, might be key for the cc surviving longer after upgrading to a pf and pumping out additional svcs

Seriously, your cheese is aging like fine wine? You start with a product renowned for getting exponentially better with aging and compare to another product that benefits from aging but to a lesser extent? It was right there: "your cheeses are the finest when you age them well." It just needed the tiniest bit of originality and you missed it.

@@elonwhatever Just an analogy, cheese tastes differently at different ages. As for Uthermals cheese, I throw herbs into it lol. I don’t handicap myself. I get a totally different flavor.

The misbiles at 22:35 was actually mad. You had so many SCVs repairing the planetary but the opponent somehow killed his own lings with it.
I got PF rushed for first time yesterday I blame you Thermy 😂 Another great vid!

Agreed!
That last zerg clearly knew who you were and knew the PF rush was coming which is a shame.
Possibility for TvZ PF-rush: DON'T try to stop the creep - just lay a *pair* of PFs, one each at the opponent's 4th and 5th base, and MINE from them. This forces the enemy to keep attacking your PFs, on their side of the map, with heavy losses - it puts them in the urgent situation of "Terran is stealing my resources, which keeps my future economy small!"

The "rob your opponent" challenge. I want to see it too.
@kma3647
Жыл бұрын
The whole concept of a planetary rush is to pressure them early for a quick win. With zerg, the challenge includes having to include a raven in his support units or use scans. This turns the match into a pseudo macro game from the start. While it's certainly a good strategy, it's not really in the spirit of the rush concept. I would however, still have no problem if he did it as an adaptation to having to mess with Zerg creep.
@eclipseeffigy
Жыл бұрын
I like the idea as a backup if the initial PF rush fails, but bear in mind you can't really defend both an enemy 4th and 5th because they will be very spread out while the enemy base is inbetween them. So they can move between them much much faster than you. Still, it's an interesting idea.
@anthonyrepetto3474
Жыл бұрын
@@eclipseeffigy True - they have better Lines of Supply between them. Yet, as Terran, you would have a Three-Base economy... and the Zerg would be bottled in their *own* Three-Base Economy, while Zerg naturally prefers to have an *extra* base than Terran! So, Zerg would be in an economy-crunch, by laying PFs immediately at the 4th and 5th, which forces them to throw units into you, just like Terran wants. It's fine by me if Zerg have an easier time running back and forth, as long as they crash into the PF defensive line, for high *trade-efficiency* . That high efficiency of trades ensures that your own Three-Base economy is doing better than theirs. Does that make sense?
I feel like that Zerg watches your channel. He seemed so proud to survive the initial proxy PF rush
i think this is the first time i legitimately felt bad for one of uthermal's opponents
The first PF hit so hard they felt it in the second game :)
me watching these vids: wut a great idea ima planetary rush me trying this in game: wut a terrible idea im dying xp great vids keep em coming! great series!
I actually liked the pregame commentary reminding us of the last episode a bit before diving in. The episodes are never on consecutive days so it's nice to get the recap. Good job man!
This is one of my favorite challenge. Herd it mentioned before but, forced supply block/destroy infrastructure to grandmasters
This series is just absolute insanity!

Fairly standard TvT play, but well executed.
19:53 THANK YOU!! Was yelling take the gold base at my screen 😂
No cold hand johns from my man uThermal. Respect! Jesus Christ loved seeing you keep the planetary alive.
Watching the scouting factory go down before the nukes are made...yep, definitely a ghost to gm moment 🤣
Man I can't believe I doubted how far you'd go with this series.
Best content is to pick a challenge where Marc's initial reaction is, "There's no way that's possible."
definitely my favourite series on all your series!!!
I'm a new follower, haven't even touched this game since it released but your games and your commentary are great 👍👍👍👍
I've been on the edge of my seat after the last episode, and this one has delivered!!
Been enjoying the channel. Very impressive! Could you make a video where you commentate about your apm? Explain your pattern clicking through everything so quickly?
Love your matches. Inspired me to replay SC2 Campain after many many years and gave me the idea to wall off my bases with planetaries. Maybe a good challenge idea?
Omg, the factory AGAIN!
For games against zerg, maybe it would be okay to make a defensive/macro planetary at one of their expansions. Similarly, if there was a gold base, I would still consider rushing it with a planetary would count and make for an epic game.
I love this series partly because I feel like most GM players probably view themselves as people that wouldn't lose to a Planetary Fortress rush, and then here comes uThermal... 😂😂
hey man, just wanna let you know I really appreciate your challenges and your very pleasant personality - but even more - the PFs. OMG the PFs.
This series in particular makes me think that we are still only scratching the surface of possible strategies in this game. In other words, you're doing good work!
@henningbreede6428
Жыл бұрын
This is not a possible strategy against evenly skilled opponents.
of all challenges this would be the last one to reach 27 winning streak. the third game was just pure magic - the PF that failed to land, then failed to morph, then became the gold; the game turning into ghost challenge with obligatory factory flying into its death. Exquisite. I kinda hoped you'd keep making hellions to compliment ghosts.
he bloqued the planetary so well with the queens

Should do mass sentry to GM someday, love your videos, especially your ghost to GM series!
Really enjoyable series! 1 thing i think it would be great is, if you can edit it to show how many workers you killed with these early rushes :)
Awesome TvZ, should have made tanks though
thermy: 'i can't believe this is working nicely' thank you thermy always for the comic relief despite you microing hard on that one, i know you have it all calculated 😂
Imagine being me watching this.....I have been playing starcraft has long has artosis. And I can't break into gm. But he can make gm while going undefeated pf rushing. And playing random cheesing people. But I can't with my decades of experience and playing my hardest! Hahahah, You are the man and have awesome content! Keep it up!
Последняя игра была особо хороша. В какой-то момент даже было ощущение, что юТермал её вытянет до победы.

Last game was wild af that’s a win
Just saw the first guy in Harstem's recent video too. Ladder is rough these days lol
History is being made here
This is gold content Thermy, don't listen to haters
proxy multiple building into their main. print units directly in it, bypass their wall!
So freaking good at this game its insane
hilarious you are almost 30-0 with planetary rush
Sadly the last game you didn't build any tanks for support. If not, you'll have big chance with ghost. 👻
LETS GO MARCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
Planetary rush is faster than speedrunning sc2. Thermy is like Mike Tyson with the fortress, by the time you get something from the fridge you have to rewind and see what happened.
New rule: never end an episode on a loss. Thank you for the content.
let's go!
Last game was just beautiful
Man i wanna see some BC action sometime 🤣👌
Great games. Wish you built some tanks :(
multiple planetaries at each mineral patch
I wonder what uThermal would think of Starcraft 3 or some other RTS getting a Homeworld style drag to attack multiple units command. I see him mention a lot of cases where his opponent mistakenly attack clicks an individual unit.
Greetings from Brazil!!
Incredible tactic
Build some damn tanks, you silly goose.
why does he build the planetaries not closer to the enemy main?
Imagine how much nicer it would be to have the minerals, gas, and supply right above the minimap. unfortunately our eyes have to flick from the bottom left to the top right 9001 times a game
In my mind, supporting a planetary with just a few mines, can be very strong. Be a very sad zerg, trying to blow up a planetary with banes if there are 2 mines supporting it.
I had a good time. bedankt
Is there any situation where rushing Ghosts and sniping a bunch of Overlords would ever be useful? Also love the vids
No freaking way you manage to segue not only into a ghosts to gm episode but also go on to LOSE THE FACTORY before making any nukes. Incredible. 😂 that zerg seemed to know you quite well and played to counter your challenges precisely! I don't think we've seen someone so specifically counter you on your name in a long while.
I need my daily dose of uThermal to sleep nowadays😃
Tic tic BOOOM
I have a gold mineral base, lets mine its gas!
Let's go
Let's fucking goooooo!
I think everybody have forgotten how to counter PF rush
How is it possible that your speed running account is higher than your main?
I don't really want this series to end... Its just super fun, no matter if you reach GM.
I really wonder if you had brought like 5 SCVs to insta repair that PF against the Zerg
You should do a 2v2 series!
that gm was high all right
Do the planetary rush with 3-5 suvs! and micro them to keep the planetary alive!
why ghost episode? could have made it more aggressive planetarys
Great
Nice.
PF to GM let's go
is this the best win streak out of all your challenges?
You could've easily turned back the tide in the 3rd match but you decided not to by sticking with Ghost to GM shenanigans for some reason..
"how do you warm up for your videos?" "I don't." CLASSIC, and he does it while commentating his series too
