Prince and Michael were peers. Prince solo debut came out in 1978 and MJ's breakout solo album was in 1979 with Off The Wall and they were at their career peak in the 80s at the exact same time. Thriller and 1999 came out in 1982. Purple Rain (1984) was the 3rd blockbuster of the 80s by a black artist after MJ's Thriller and Lionel Richie's Can't Slow Down. They both performed with James Brown the same night in 1983 and were competing against each other at 1988 grammys for the AOTY for "Bad" and "Sign O' The Time" which they both lost to U2

Sorry but no and I grew up listen to Usher but Chris talent is on a whole other level. Chris Brown’s last few projects have been 25 to 33 tracks long and each album has been a fucking hit ain’t nobody listening to a 33 track usher album. Respectfully. Usher has the best album, but breezy has too many huge hits. Usher still hasn’t given a hit song from recent years, on the other hand breezy had song of the year with “no guidance” and then later on “under the influence”. Usher’s classics have aged well but there’s nothing from recent, whereas breezy with all the canceling is still producing hits. I thinks it’s breezy that we need to look at in a different light.

Exactly, they stay sleeping on Chris' career not realizing the man has given us at LEAST one hit record EVERY year since he debuted in 2005. 18 years later and he hasn't slowed down in the slightest. Usher's late run from My Way to Confessions was legendary but nobody has been checking for an Usher album or hit record for over a decade. I feel bad for him too. Had the Rihanna incident not happened, Chris would’ve done the Super Bowl years ago. He’s not even allowed to perform at award shows these days. The last time he performed at an award show was 2017 (BET Awards) and he was meant to do a spectacular MJ tribute at the AMAs in 2022 which was cancelled last minute because of fear of backlash. Also Jay-Z picks who does the Super Bowl which means Chris doesn’t stand a chance. So yeah Chris is very frustrated right now. They won’t allow him to do Super Bowl and hasn’t performed at an award show in 7 years😭

Separation isn’t needed. Usher is on a totally separate level. His discography surpasses CB. Quality over quantity. He actually sings live. Chris just screams over a backing track. Usher is a living legend.

I dont even compare Usher and CB but i do find it funny how the majority of people consistently only name Ushers 2 amazing albums when Chris clearly has more than 2 amazing albums. That in itself is very self explanatory no disrespect to Usher. But for what its worth Chris has been out since 05 and is still in his PRIME while Usher who is still very talented has already peaked. We've seen his best years while Chris is still dominating the R&B space while putting out hip hop and pop record hits as well. Happy for Usher though hes an OG in the game and deserves this opportunity 100%. All love.

Chris Brown "peak" is nowhere near comparable to Usher. Chris Brown is chasing after quick radio hits not making timeless classic records that will live on and that are on par with My Way/8701/Confessions. He doesn't have that blockbuster album like a Songs In the Key Of Life, Thriller, Purple Rain, Don't Be Cruel, Confessions or Future Sex Love Songs In his catalog. That indisputed classic with massive sales, chart topping hits hits after hits, accolades, massive tour.... The closest he got is probably his debut

Secondly a random throwaway song like “Under The Influence” dropped in 2019 and went number 1 in 2022 and was so huge he titled his international tour after the song itself. That’s literally a small example of his music lasting and aging well and it not being a quick radio hit. Also albums like Thriller and Purple Rain belong to Michael and Prince not Usher we’re talking about Usher. The self titled album Chris Brown is a classic, Fame was his huge comeback album and was also a classic, Fortune was a huge Pop album, and X and Heartbreak On A Full Moon and definitely Indigo are classics because they all have a bunch of songs that were shifting the culture in terms of dancing which is important and music that is relevant at functions and platforms like clubs, sporting events and social media platforms as well. Not to mention, I love Usher but outside of this Super Bowl performance he’s only been doing shows in Vegas consistently while Chris is STILL selling out arenas and stadiums overseas touring domestically and internationally and he’s doing all that while being blackballed. Him and Usher are not the same
