Slow Gear Headphone Amp - slowgearelectronics.com/pedal...
The Slow Gear Electronics headphone amp is packed with a ton of features that I think outdoes just about everything else on the market when it comes to headphone amps.
At $159, here's what you're getting:
quality headphone amp with modes to work with both high and low impedance headphones
- stereo input with sum to mono switch
- buffered stereo output
- polarity flip on the right output
- auxiliary input with separate volume control
* Slow Gear Electronics reached out to introduce their new product and eventually sent me the headphone amp in return for this video demonstration. I think it's a great product and possibly one of the most useful pieces of gear I own. If you have any questions, leave them below in the comments.

Thank you for going through those examples/explaining the difference between going straight into it, with overdrive and then with cab sim. Helps to get an idea of what it might sound like before I purchase a headphone amp.

hi. I just purchased this headphone amp. my pedals I plan on running through it are a distortion and chorus pedal. I do have a overdrive pedal but not sure where I should place it. before or after the distortion and chorus. I'm glad I watched this video because I didn't think I needed anything to go along with the amp.

Why, why, WHY is this company not promoting themselves more? There’s only two links on KZread about this product. And this headphone amp is the only one that offers the auxiliary feature. And despite 12v capability, it’s still center pin negative and less than a 500ma draw (which means that it can adapt with most power supplies without extra cables). I bet that this company is busting through the seams and can’t keep these things in stock. Everybody should own one of these. I just ordered one but have not received yet.

Hello, Merry Christmas 🎄! I have one question, I recently got this and was wondering. Is there a way to connect laptop and phone so I can record a cover with a phone and has a track or music coming from laptop and of course my in ears I can hear through that

Thanks for putting this together. I'm new to all of this, and maybe you can help me. I have a Marshall DSL1CR (1-watt) that is great for low-volume practicing, but it's too loud for late at night. The amp has an "emulated out" (with cab sim) for headphones. The problem is that the sound isn't that great. Maybe I could get a better quality if I plug the headphones into a DAC/Amp combo or a headphone amp. So I'm wondering if this can be a solution: Guitar -> DSL1CR -> (using emulated out) Slow Gear headphone amp -> Headphones Do you think that could do the trick? Thanks again!

Idk why your stereo guitar sound was only coming thru on the left. Then you summed to mono and it came out of both left and right. Is that a problem on my end? I didn’t see a post-production note on the screen about it. I have one of these, too, btw! Doesn’t the gain switch have to do with the input signal strength? Website says: Gain switch for Instrument vs Line level (affects only the headphone output).

That’s what the note on the screen was about at 1:20 - not sure if I described it very well. During the demo you were listening to the thru outputs, which behave slightly differently than the headphone output. In stereo mode, it works normal. In mono output, it uses only the left output which is why you hear it move to the left. In the headphones that doesn’t happen. The mono signal is sent to both sides equally. And I believe you’re right about the gain switch - that’s for the instrument input to switch between instrument and line levels. Of course I’d be hearing the level of the headphones change so that’s why I thought it had to do with managing different headphone impedances. Thank you for the correction!

Hi, I need one to use my DigiTech 2120 Artist because it has no head phone jack. Can you recommend one that will be good? Is this one I would need? I don't need any guitar effects on the head phone amp. Thanks.

Hey this is prob a long shot but can u tell me with all your bass presets can i turn off the amp block and cab if it has it. I am running thru my own amp its rumble 500 and i dont want to use any other amp. Can u please lmk is it still worth to buy because i see how much the amp does effect the tone that your creating.

Hey Rich - I think you’ll still get some use out of the effects that I have in my bass presets, but yeah the amp/cab simulation is where I’ve put most of my focus. If you’re plugging into a Fender Rumble, I would at minimum bypass the cab simulation. You might find that some of the amp blocks sound fine still and kind of work like an overdrive or preamp. The presets should be mostly balanced, but you might want to use the level parameter in the output block to level match since the amp block compression affects that a lot.

Something cheap like this could attach to the aux input - amzn.to/3OTTtFz For monitoring guitar, you can’t use Bluetooth because of the inherent latency. You can use Bluetooth for whatever is coming through the aux, since the delay won’t matter, but the delay will be noticeable playing guitar.

@@AlexPriceMusician Yes, I know. I mean Bluetooth for phone connecting for backing tracks. But it's not so big problem, because I can use Bluetooth adapter in aux.
