I bought the first Von Hertzen album in 2008… What a journey. You may want to see them live 😊

When you hear a song for the first time and get chills because you know you've just heard something that you will never experience for the first time ever again, but know that you will grow to love it even more with repeat listens. Phenominal! Now pausing the catch up to deep-dive into VHB

4th time around - we did three in live streams 😊 This one is both too long for a live stream and especially deserving of a full reaction/analysis - and what a payoff I got! ❤ My habit of tearing up when listening to it lasted this time as well. It's just such a perfect song in so many ways and I think this live version serves the song exceptionally well - despite some minor flaws like the bass being a bit too buried att times like you said. But the passion, presence and interaction is just unmatched. I got it that you really appreciate when great solos continue while vocals reenter(?) That's a weak spot for me too - just love it for some reason. I always hesitate to call a band underrated, but I can't find a better term for this band. I really feel they have the potential to attract a huge audience! Yet, they seem to have missed any greater popularity outside their homae country Finland (as opposed to many more original bands out of Nordic countries, who gain greater fame abroad.) Now, enjoy yourself with Von Hertzen Brothers as much as you like - my work is done 😁

Aside from your requests I've never seen anyone even mention them. They're fantastic at what they do and haven't disappointed me yet and deserve quite a bit more recognition than they have.

Wow, when I saw you're checking out the live version I was worried cause the studio version is probably my favourite song of theirs, but oh boy, was it good! Great and very patient performance. And your remarks on building up to a peak are spot on. I just had a thought that's just loosely connected to this - you should check out something of more modern Opeth records, when Mikael stopped growling and their style drifted towards more rock than metal sound. And imho "Faith in Others" is the best thing they recorded out of those 4 last records. Why to mention it here? Because it's also a slow, somber song, that takes its time to build atmosphere and to get to any peak. But in general it's also a very mature composition, something completely different to anything by Opeth you've heard thus far.

❤️ He did do Heart in Hand (Swedish lyrics version) kzread.info/dash/bejne/fnicsKqIZtPcfLA.html but I totally endorse any requesting of more later Opeth songs. (And Von Hertzen Brothers did open for Opeth som ten years back)

Never heard (of) these guys, but this was definitely a really good track. Love how emotive it was and how well it pays off its patience and build-up. Definitely going on approaching-infinity list of bands/artists I need to check out.

Didn't expect tp hear von Hertzen Brothers on this channel! But this has to be one of the songs that portrays the most emotion I know. Huge emotions throughout the song and especially in the outro. The lyrics are actually about a breakup. Her death is a metaphor for her leaving the relationship

From what I've heard of these guys previously, this is by far the best. None of the other 6 or 7 songs really connected with me - beautiful but not memorable like this. Thanks, Per, for the selection and Bryan, for the reaction!
