Opening six changed so much in comparison to the previous openings because the story drastically changes and shifts it's main enemy's role.. You don't feel like you are following the hero of the story anymore

They never "talk" about the hero of the story tho. Openings 1-3 speak from humanity's perspective, OP 4 does change focus to Historia and Eren but on a personal level, not heroic. OP 5 talks about humanity (within the walls) again. OP 6 is about war in general and OP 7 is, ironically, completely and absolutely about Eren, from his POV and all

Opening 3 was meant to be the nostalgia opening, it's the season where we start to find out more about the childhood of the characters that's why it's deceptively happy, it's going back to times where things were seemingly more simple than they are now. As much as I love the other hype openings, that's why opening 3 is my favorite

You have Eren looking back at his childhood and that of the people he knows and seeing what their lifes were like before it all became the mess they become in the future. Since he could only have acess to the paths through the founder titan then that is Eren after he started the rumbling.

My War is by far my favourite. 1, is iconic, 2 is underrated, 3 is also iconic, 4 is underrated as FUCK, 5 is messy as hell. 7 Is badass. But there's just something about My War that feels so.. Fitting. It's confusing, it's chaotic, it's dramatic, and even a little creepy in some areas. Just like the show. It's capturing the horror of the scenario's the characters are in and the tragedy of war.

Opening 2 is such an underrated masterpiece. No one ever pays attention to it and the full version is so brilliantly crafted.... it's just too good, it deserves better ;_; Linked Horizon truly is made of geniuses, I hope they can come back one last time in any capacity🤞🤞🤞

While it’s not my favorite I do think it’s criminally underrated.

It's amazing how you're able to pick up things on your first listen that I never noticed after hearing the songs many times. That catch with the beast titan was awesome! 11:53

Joey showed the perfect reaction to Season 4 OP 1. First time you get confused, then you keeping listening to it and it’s the best thing you’ve heard in a while. Makes you want to fight for a cause that’s not even yours

You could separate the reactions in 7 doing a op and ed 1 and then 2 and so on till 7 considering all the songs are 5 minutes long. OP 5 actually has reprises of the first two ops and has visuals that directly mirror the OPs and EDs from before!

There is a reference to the main melody of "Guren Nu Yumiya" in the full versions of openings 2, 3, and 5 too. Listen to the full versions if you haven't already, and have your brain absolutely fuckin melted by the sheer brilliance of the music.

Favorite part about the openings and endings done by Linked Horizon is the fact that they all take samples of each other and at the end of Season 3 it feels like the epic culmination of so many years. It's absolutely incredible!!

S3 Red Swan my take is it's all about the last shreds of their childhood innocence being taken away. It's melancholy and nostalgic. Beautiful.

I would also recommend the outros a couple of them are slow and a couple are fast but most are good (yes I even consider the creepy singing children one good because it accomplishes its vibe so well). As Joey was saying for the second intro, both the music writers are quite sneaky in that they introduce older themes in random ways. I think it was the entire second season three intro that was a bunch of call backs to songs from throughout the series and if you aren't listening you may not notice it.

by the time joey finishes AOT my dad would be back with the milk.

Bro Opening 5 "Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi", is one of the best for me, literally the combination of 4 songs if I remember correctly, and plus hearing the piano version, you can clearly hear the different songs.

The lyrics of the last song are so deep in the context of the season. "All I wanted to do is to protect you... to save your life... If I loose it all I will never look away... live to day another day. Rumbling" --Procedes to wage war against all humanity--. It actually adds a lot of context to what happens

Oh! And also there are some songs that the voice actors from some of the characters have sung

The one before the Rumbling is my favorite one. Judge me. It's the most different, and i just love to see how it fits with season 4.

The beast Titan semi tone is real. I did not notice until you said so. Amazing how they are such sneaking, you can even feel the vibration.

12:41 Notice the amount of self-quoting that Linked Horizon does here. It goes from referring to the first opening immediately to quoting part of the third (Sasageyo), then upon saying the word "Requiem" it refers to the ending song of season 3 part 1, Akatsuki no Requiem, even showing the same visual of Historia stepping on water or blood or whatever that is. Then if you check Akatsuki no Requiem, when it says the word "sasageta" (same as sasageyo but a different conjugation) it starts temporarily playing the melody of Sasageyo. AOT songs are full of this and this makes it a little more regrettable that Linked Horizon wasn't there for season 4

My War has to be my FAVORITE of all time. I see many people saying they didn't like it at first but grew to like it, but for me I loved it since the first time I heard it.

Now you have to react to the endings dude, you might love them even more than the openings

iv heard the season 3 part 2 intro countless times and iv neeeeeever heard the beast titan voice before but ur right its there :O

They show the happy scene in the opening called Red Swan is about Eren says goodbye to the old good days and becomes more determined.

Even though Red Swan OST might sound like a happy song but I truly believe that it's actually about the losing of the innocent that the characters had when they were kids or it might be about the innocent that they never experienced the chance to have as kids.

Rumbling full anime version oficial ITS NUTS, should hear it

You probably didn't notice how in the first season 4 opening the marching soldiers were all looking in one direction. In certain authoritarian countries the troops look towards the leader during parades and the show opening helped to show just how much of a dictatorship Marley is. Also in the Rumbling it sounds like he's saying "Be free" and not "Beware" which would make more sense since he follows it up with "coming for you!".
