Hi Adam, Dan usually has several lights and that creates this effect. Love the cover and your reaction. Next songs to react to could be Bring me to Life, I’ll make a man out of you, Always, Heaven, Adeste Fideles, Loch Lomond, Dawn of a new world, Dawn of Victory, Nessun Dorma, Tome to Say Goodbye… and just about anything else he did LOL they are all great and titles just kee tumbling through my mind 😊

Dan is classically trained, has a 3-4 octave range, arranges/produces all his songs, plays multiple instruments, and speaks/sings in 4 languages. He has over 200 plus covers on his channel from opera, musicals,show tunes, pop, rock, hard rock, and metal. He actually has a cover of Disturbed Sound of Silence FYI his father gave him a harmonica at age 7 and it was the first instrument he learned. Enjoy exploring his amazing unique covers. Adam, I see just two songs in you know how phenomenal Dan is as a singer. His cover of Evanescence "Bring Me To Life" is mindblowing. One more excellent cover of The Sound Of Silence is by Geoff Castellucci, the bass singer from VoicePlay. Well worth checking out.

Young man, you are far too observant! 🤣 Lighting, indeed. Hmph. Adding: On a technical note, I’m old enough to have spent decades listening to the original Simon and Garfunkel version of this song, but I’m not sure that Vasc has ever heard it. In his version the phrasing is based on that of Disturbed’s David Draiman. “I turned my collar to the cold and damp,” is distinctly Draiman’s interpretation. As well, the original lyrics are, “The words OF the prophets are written on…” whereas Draiman and Vasc both sing, “The words ON the prophets…” for some reason. Not criticizing; I just think it’s interesting. My personal recommendation, if you want to witness Vasc’s dramatic range, is Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. For metal, his cover of “Bring Me to Life” is mind blowing, as others have said. And somewhere down the road you must react to his Nessun Dorma from Puccini’s Turandot, which rivals Pavarotti’s. 👍

I've loved Disturbed's version of this song since i heard it the first time. But i find, that Dan puts a lot more emotional depth into it, than the singer from Disturbed. Dan has a very unique ability to embody the spirit and emotion of every song he sings, and bring the emotion out, both through his voice, his eyes, his breath, and his bodylanguage. Not many singers can do that.

He is no joke.

Great Job. Clearly a Cover of the DISTURBED version and not Simon and Garfunkel's Original. It sounded A LOT like Draiman. But very good, none the less. Or am I wrong? Great reaction.

Yes! Sleeping Sun was my first true love Dan Vasc cover! Dan introduced me to Nightwish through this song and I've become their fan too. I've listened to both Tarya and Floor sing this, erveral times at least, but honestly. I think Dan stole this song from Nightwish! It's superb!❤
