What guys like this don't get, and I have heard this "rape fantasy" thing before as justification for creepy abusive behaviour, is that within a rape fantasy THE WOMAN HAS TOTAL 100% CONTROL. The "rape" part is a FANTASY. The loss of control is an ILLUSION. In exactly the same way ANY fantasy works, within a FANTASY, the person having it controls EVERY-FUCKING-THING. It's amazing to me that these psychos always miss that bit.

This reminds me a lot of the stalker my friend had in highschool. Dude was a neo-nazi obsessed with the military and convinced that homosexual thoughts come from being abused, and my friend was nice to him like once before knowing any of this. Dude followed her to her workplace, wouldn't leave her alone at school and constantly texted shit to her along the lines of "I'm so sad that you won't let me fix you" (she's bi), "I came in my sleep after our talk last night", "why are you ignoring me". Eventually dude left for boot camp and stopped texting her, but the guy had serious brain rot. He thought Hitler was an admirable visionary, that you get gay thoughts from sexual abuse, gay people are destined to abuse, and that tattoos quantitatively lowered your "value"

Part of the problem is if you're a man, you hardly get to see this side to other men, and they can keep it hidden very well sometimes. A guy I was friends with for more than 5 years one day seemingly out of the blue from my perspective was charged with assault and deprivation of liberty of a woman he had gone to high school with and according to him he was innocent and only accused of this because she was jealous that he had made advances towards her friend. Sad thing is I believed him, because why wouldn't I? I had known him for years, I had only ever known him to be a good and honest person when he was around me, and I didn't know the person accusing him of this so why should I believe them over my friend? A few months later he informs me the charges have been dropped which in my mind confirmed his innocence. But then about a month later he was charged with assault and deprivation of liberty AGAIN this time by a stranger, and the incident had happened about half an hour after he had left my house heavily intoxicated. I had a hard time believing that by coincidence this man would have twice been accused by two separate women who don't know each other of the exact same crimes. He tried to explain it as "she misunderstood my intentions" and I simply told him "no misunderstanding leads to someone believing they were assaulted and detained against their will when they weren't, and I am not going to sit here and listen to you lie to me". This led to a physical fight, and I ended up pressing assault charges against him myself. He went to jail for just under 8 years. I learned that just because I think I know someone, doesn't mean I actually do and that some men can behave very differently around their male friends than they do when they aren't, and to not disbelieve a woman's claims just because I am friends with someone and they've been decent around me personally. I'm not a woman, so I don't get to see the side of men that women do. I understand that now.

Just to show how normal behavior similar to this was when my mother was younger (I'll say she was around 17-18, living with roommates. She is 54 now.) My father stole my mothers earrings while she was working, told her she could get them back by going on a date with him. Clearly you can see how it went, she actually showed up, they dated, got married, had three kids. He wasn't a good guy, really terrible man. My mother just recently had told me this full story, it honestly scared me how happy she seemed about the situation. She just casually laughed about a random man she didn't know taking her expensive jewelry while she was at work, telling her she could get them back if she showed up at this specific place at this set time, and how she actually showed up and spent the time with him. I'll add while he was a complete stranger to my mother, her friend at the time knew him, doesn't make it any less scary though.

Dude in college there was this car with tinted windows who would follow girls home from the library. He’d spend every night circling around the block hunting for women to follow home. (He used to park next to the library and go back and forth but campus police asked him to leave) I’m sure he had some white knight complex about keeping women safe, but there was nothing more terrifying that seeing this car coming towards you at 2:30 in the morning, doing a three point turn in a driveway, and following you at about 3 mph for 15 minutes as you either went to your home or circled back to campus so that he wouldn’t have your address. I had a friend of a friend who was certainly braver than me who screamed at the car to fuck off and stop following her and he just… kept following her. Not much you could do against a car. A different friend started carrying a brick in her purse. Most girls I knew just decided that the library didn’t close at 2:30, it closed at 6pm for them

@@lonely1951 ya that is so scary and sad that he’s just able to keep doing it. Campus police should be able to ban someone, and if they come back arrest them. It’s unfortunate that we have to move differently to keep ourselves safe, like not being able to hit the gym or library late at night. I’m grown and live in a fairly safe town and I don’t like going anywhere at night.

It’s so much easier to get an accurate vibe from an explicit “no” at the outset than any thing else. I will say tho, it doesn’t take being neurotypical to understand what is happening when a person is running away from you😂😂😂

I used to think ‘not all men’, that at least the boys my age saw us as equal. going into a male dominated education and workforce changed that completely. the way even some women dont believe me because they havent entered that world drives me insane.

The bit on “if you can’t pick up on social ques, you should be fearful of coming across like this.” Slightly off topic with what I do. I can’t smell. Never been able to smell my whole life. But I do know smells exist. Does this mean I should just not do basic hygiene so I don’t smell and my home doesn’t smell just because I can’t smell? No. In fact, I am TERRIFIED of having my place smell or me smelling bad that I go more out of my way to make sure I don’t than I realize most people who can smell do. It’s the same concept. If you can’t pick up on social ques, that is not the other persons fault for not just clarifying it more. YOU have to take that extra step to clarify, not the other way around. Humans communicate more from body language than we do verbally. Women aren’t the only ones who do this, men do it too. Also, where the hell did this idea that women love to be chased come from? I am a woman IRL and I have NEVER liked being chased. Every guy that has done it came off as a creep. They also never take no as an answer. I could literally say “fuck off and leave me alone.” and straight up wouldn’t leave me alone and it made it worse. To the point I had guys calling my home phone non stop and my parents had to block numbers and even remove us from phone books. I only knew these guys as “dude I go to school with” and NEVER spoke to them. They would just send me notes, follow me in hall ways, and call my home phone. Want to know how to hit on a girl and do it right guys? Be fucking normal and strike up a conversation that you would with a fucking guy. The one that stands out to me most, even now that I have been out of school for almost 15 years is a guy who saw my heaven metal band tee shirt and started the conversation with that on our first day in science class we had. We sat next to each other. We started talking about our favorite bands and he would mention that he also plays the drums and asked if I would like to listen after about a week. He was actually really good at the drums. Then after that, he started “forgetting” his books and asked to share mine. He started moving his desk to mine and we shared. (I later found out his locker was literally just outside the class room.)After that, he then started sharing his one of his ear phones with me and we would listen to heaven metal while reading and doing work together. He THEN started flirting with me more boldly or up front and said that he really liked me. I thought it was sweet that he shared his ear buds with me and we listened to music we both liked and did all our work together. I thought it was sweet that he would drag his whole desk over to sit right next to me. And even him flirting was cute. However, this was ONLY cute because he treated me like a damn person first and got to know me FIRST and started the whole thing off over my band tee shirt. He didn’t come out of the gate flirting with me, sitting next to me, and just sticking an earbud in my ear. If he had done all of that without first setting that basic foundation of forming a nice friendly connection first, that would of been creepy and would of put me off and made me want to change seats or even classes.

As an autistic person, I disagree with the notion that all of the responsibility lies on the person who's unable to pick up on social cues. That's by definition ableism. I am "high functioning", so I can pick up that responsibility since I've worked on it my whole life, but I know a lot of other neurodivergent folks who, for one reason or another, are unable to pick up the slack in communication and need the other party to work with them more in order for understanding to occur. You're right that the sex of your attraction shouldn't be a sex object first and a person second, anyone that has this basic, decent-person outlook mixed up needs to be corrected before they put anyone else at risk. Nobody is obligated to tolerate an abusive person creeping on you, but I think that when dealing with someone who is clearly unaware to some extent that there's a degree of magnanimity is appropriate. Basically, I don't want to excuse poor behavior from neurodivergent people (especially that to the extent of the absolute gremlin featured in Critical's video), I just want to push back against the idea that neurotypicals don't owe any sort of accommodation or empathy to their fellow human beings with different wiring. Also, that's a sweet story you recounted c:

So please, do not take this as me chewing your head off or anything. I am just explaining, giving examples, and clearing up what I am saying.) I do have autism and I never except other people to accommodate me. If I don’t know or don’t understand, I ask. It is insane to expect every person to treat everyone like they are disabled in some way just to make accommodations for those who refuse to do anything about their disability. It is one the person with the disability to make it clear that they have this and to clear up any misunderstandings or for the other person to know and have them be patient with you. It is also not ableist to expect people who struggle with something, like picking up social ques, to make sure that when they interact with others that it falls on them to make sure what they are communicating isn’t coming off inappropriate when they are dealing with people they do not know and have not disclosed that they are disabled in any way. If this was the case, then I can literally just never shower again for the rest of my life nor maker sure my place doesn’t smell. I can’t smell, so what is the point? I shouldn’t have to care about smelling for those who can smell. If they complain about me smelling, that must be ableism, right? It’s not. What is ableism. When I tell people I can’t smell and they immediately go off about how that isn’t a thing because they never heard of that. Which the reason why is because it doesn’t impair one’s life as bad as being blind or deaf so it’s not talked about. Or when I say I can’t smell and immediately get asked to smell every little thing to “what my reaction” as I smell to see if I really can’t smell it. That is like asking a blind person what something looks like over and over again. Or, say, if someone who is autistic and is HORRIBLE at picking up on social ques, like my current partner is. He has told his friends countless times that he can’t and they refuse to clarify things up when he asks and just make fun of him. That is ableism. He doesn’t except any hand outs from random people either. When someone does something that he can’t pick up on, he asks and then makes it clear that picking up on social queues is hard for him. He sucks at picking up sarcasm and I am a very sarcastic person. Knowing this, I always make it clear to him when I am being sarcastic, because he has voiced that he can not pick up on that. If someone doesn’t tell me that they can’t pick up on that, I am not going to make it clear to every single person when I am or am not being sarcastic. Now, if someone is clearly disabled, yes, we should be accommodating and understanding. But the thing is, most disabilities are invisible or most are high functioning. At that point, it does fall on the individual who has the disability to make it clear that they have it. If you don’t and someone gets mad at something you did because of your disability, it’s not the person who got mad fault. It is the one who didn’t make their disability clear. One guy comes into my job every day at 5:30am Monday - Friday to talk for 30 minutes while he waits for the bus to go to work. He is clearly disabled. He talks about the same thing over and over and over again. Every day. Always about his favorite TV show and the movie about said show. His head is always titled up moving a little back and forth as he talks. Every 5 minutes, the conversation restarts and he follows me around the store talking to me about his show. Now, I know his is disabled. I talk to him all the time and have the same conversations over with him, like I have never had it before. However, I have had customers complain to me about him because he is “creepy” or “not right in the head” and have told me to kick him out. Which I never have and never will. Because he is clearly disabled and it pisses me off every time someone comes up to me to complain about him “not being right in the head”. That is ableism. Expecting high functioning people to not come off as creeps for literally doing something that most perceive as creepy without telling them that it’s their disability, is massively different from one explaining their disability first and people then getting creeped out. The first is not ableism, the second is. We can’t just sit here and call everything ableism when it’s not. That word is leftist version of “groomers”. People throw it around so much and don’t even know what ableism even means. I don’t think most even know what it really means anymore because it has now been waters down so much.

@@klausd.6285 We're in agreement, methinks- my point was just that the responsibility goes both ways, even if a person isn't severely disabled. Working to pick up each other's slack for the sake of better communication rather than drawing a line in the sand and deciding 'you're beneath me since you've come across the wrong way' is what I'm advocating for, not everyone treating everyone as if they're disabled lmao... the point of combatting ableism is to make disabilities treated less like barriers to interacting in whatever capacity they _do_ have, not equalization in the form of treating everyone like they're potentially diseased. Ableism can be a bit like the leftist or liberal version of 'groomers' in use, but I don't think that I'm using it that way here. I'm not doing a witch hunt to find out who's morally sub-par or whatever, I'm just talking about being more forgiving towards people who're less able to pick up on things just for the sake of treating one another better. Seeing a person who, for some reason or another, can't socially function as well as another person and deciding that _this alone_ is reason to not tolerate them is a pretty common form of ableism that I think that we'd both agree is an outlook to avoid. (I'm not angry either, and your comment didn't come across as angry to me c:)

I have to give these cops major credit for putting the tough questions to him. Even though there are some major red flags here and this guy should definitely be investigated. If this lady ends up in a dumpster behind his work, they’re going to say they didn’t see the warning signs.

The sinister thing about mental health is how hard it is to come to the realization that something is wrong with your brain chemistry and you need outside help. Sometimes the paranoia gets too strong, sometimes pride and ego get in the way.

I'd say social stigma, more than anything. Literally the only thing that's keeping from trying to get diagnosed so I can get medication is the knowledge that most people don't understand the difference between a purely functional and a genuinely intellectual mental disability. Even discounting that, any mental health issue is automatically seen as "insanity" and thus an excuse to not take anything the person says or does seriously. I know a victim of SA who's claims are generally dismissed because she has borderline syndrome, so "obviously" she's just "lying" because she's "crazy"

@@doll5736 He did kind of deny it though. Hasan is pretty open about being a coomer that watches a lot of porn. He's hyper sensitive to any criticism of the porn industry out of fear that it will implicate him as problematic for enjoying it. We can say "well actually this is all the patriarchy" all we want but that is such a banal statement that its absolutely fucking useless in terms of addressing any of the problems mentioned in this video. If we wanted to talk about rape culture for example and I said we shouldn't have that conversation because "its the patriarchy dude" is a sufficient answer to me, would you agree? I just wish he engaged in that argument a bit more, thats all.
