That's a beautiful instrument! In my opinion, there is just something that is special about aged instruments. Surely, dings, dents and scratches are not everyone's cup of tea but those guitars with all the physical wear and tear have their unique character which forms quite a strong bond between the player and the instrument. I also really enjoyed listening to your story.

I watched this again looking to see if you had posted anything today. My son and his husband popped in unexpectedly and it is always a pleasant surprise. They are on their way home to St.Louis. You should keep this one. It will hold its value and only increase most likely. I need to get a t shirt and hopefully a couple mug. whenever I can catch my wife in a willing mood. I cannot see well enough to place an order myself. I broke the handle on my magnifier last night and even this is difficult. Hopefully all is proper. Enjoy your weekend. Looking forward to your interesting life stories.

Very nice Aaron. I have had the pleasure to play 2 28 37 Authentics at my local store and liked them both very much but didn’t purchase either they were great though. Yours sounds fantastic I enjoy buying and playing and changing Martins and as you know that can get expensive so in many ways a person could save money by getting an Authentic. I have owned over 20 Martins most in the Standard series and 3 Modern Deluxe . Two custom shop .But for me at this point my current favorite is my D41 for me and as we know people perceive differently it is by far my best Martin ever . It plays very well is loaded with complex tone ,strums great and has single note clarity too . Martin is a great company and has been doing it well for a long time . Was nice to see the gleam in you eye of your awsome purchase . If you ever have the chance and have not check out Zager guitars. I still enjoy my sound hole mug and shirt.

Sounds fantastic! I guess with the relic part you won’t worry as much with a ding. Sounds so deep and lush. If you come to Nazfest you will be able to see and play real prewars and see how the compare. With guitars it only matters to me what they sound and play like. Although I don’t know if I would buy a relic as a new guitar.

The scent could be from the use of hide glue. Congratulations on this great sounding instrument! You appear to be very happy. I backed up and put the headphones on and it is very breathtaking to listen to, even on KZread. I know Jeremy and Baxter from their KZread posts and I saw Jeremy's first reaction to this guitar. I know you don't care for D18,but I have a golden era D18GE that is made like they were in 1934, I believe, and it makes me very happy too. I have put my own dings and scratches on over the past 18 years or so. Take care.

That is one gorgeous instrument. I have my 1969 Martin D-28 and I love it. Yes it has "honest" play wear and I like it. Every scratch, every ding, has meaning. It was enjoyed! It's one of the first Indian rosewood editions and I can honestly say it sounds every bit as great as my 1966 D-28 with Brazilian rosewood. For the life of me I can't understand why a Brazilian Martin sells for thousands more. I guess it's a collector's thing more than a quality thing.

Congratulations buddy… it must be a good feeling. Is it a 1 3/4? You deserve it, you took a chance but it paid off. Well done. I can see your happiness. Realy like it how you stretch your thumb forward when picking, that comes with time. Put a K&K in it,… just some glue but no cutting. Imagine that guitar builder in Nazareth; cutting and beating into the guitar to make it look old. What a job! Does it have bone bridge pins btw? If not will you upgrade? What mic are you going to use for gigs since you will not install a pick-up? Godspeed. Oh btw, my D18 has a tiny blue glow over the body on the top since my cheap flanel shirt left some paint behind. You can google it, few others had the same issue. It’s a vintage now and that’s worth $1000. I truly don’t care, it needs to be used and played as much as we can. Every night however mine is connected to the ToneRite and very very well maintained. Love the channel. Edit: I often fall asleep with it when my wife is not a home. 🥰 Oh, -still wearing that same flanel shirt when playing and my next guitar will be the Jason Isbell signature model.
