The Ruins is a new map that came out 2 days ago at the time of this upload, and is already a VERY fun map! There is a definite strongest loop on the map that is completely static and doesn't change! It's in the dungeon on the right side! The left side of the dungeon is more dangerous although has a portal to get you back to the outside! Here is a brief walkthrough as well as some other helpful tips!

@@shep4197 Love to hear it! The amount of times I ran by good windows with no idea how to run them was crazy when the fix is as simple as literally telling someone "jump that window and go right"! It's crazy! Also relieved the laughing and shit doesn't get in the way! I'm def not taking it seriously when actually playing vs the walkthroughs so it can be a STARK contrast from the all business cutting immediately to goofy idiot looping 😂
I went against you yesterday. I was playing Vecna, and only got one kill at the very end, right next to the exit gate. Just wanted to say I strive to be as good at looping as you are!

Ayyy good stuff! Haven't seen too many vecnas tbh! His power is a lot to pick up, just remembering which direction to hit to use the specific power you want will take a while before it's muscle memory! And you can do anything I can mate trust me! Once the loops are figured out they ain't going nowhere and there is a plan every time you look at a tile! It's basically just memorization combined with risk taking!

You are an inspiration man! I only have about 180 hours into this game as a survivor main. Your tips have made me so much better at understanding looping and the mechanics behind it! I’ve had a couple games where I’ve run a killer for 3 gens and to me that’s so cool. I’m still not the best at looping but your videos really help!

LOVE to hear this! People always saying how it takes all these thousands of hours to learn to loop confidently in most scenarios but I really only think it should take a few hundred! Hearing stories like yours is inspiring to keep making these and not stop until theres something for every map!

@@Mr_TatorHead Thank you for the response! You have really helped me tremendously. Btw, the new map you talked about the left window which you said leads to a fun loop. It has the two pallets one up top and bottom. I’ve run a couple killers there and they give up quick because of that lip near the window that the killer can’t climb. It’s like that area on Gideon you love looping with the van. Plus the killer can’t double back through that window because it’s too high up. I’m sure you’ll cover it in your long video but still it’s a fun loop I’ve discovered!

Haven't had too much of a chance on that one yet since been looping the other part the whole time against different killers but that bottom pallet of the 2 looks like one of the most greedable pallets ever! Getting out of that bottom part seems to be the tricky part 😂

Yeah, when one surv dies on the right hook, its actually impossible to get to the next hook without iron grasp or agitation, no need boil over either if you position yourself right. I tested it myself.
I can’t wait for when Tator has millions of subs and we can say we’ve been here when he started to blow up 🤙🏾 awesome video man keep going!

at 0:15 seconds, youre looking at the main building stairs. directly to your left there, along a wall there is an optional filler pallet that is HILARIOUS. It is supposed to be an unsafe loop where the pallet only gets thrown against a tree, think of it as the racoon police unsafe pallet. However, the inept devs put the tree WAY TOO FAR from the pallet so when you drop the pallet it is floating in air and you, as the killer, can walk right between the dropped pallet and the tree it is supposed to be resting on. When i found it i just stopped playing I was laughing so hard, i showed it to the survivors and we spent about 10 minutes just walking through it lol. Behavior is so focused on quantity over quality with their DLC release schedule.

@@ArmaRGool lmfao imagine thinking that's the only example. Wake up was bugged and boosted every action by 25 percent. Potential energy gave you an unlimited tool box. You can t pose and slig race car way too often. There's dozens of bugs that should never have went live but they have hard deadlines of 4 major DLC per year. Hopefully they at least pay you, defending them is cringe.

Dead by Daylight was called a spaghetti code game for its first 3 years lol idk why people are defending behavior for things that would never make it to live if they had anyone working in QA.

Yeah killers have been getting much needed quality of life changes! The problem is if you don't know the maps you're basically chained to certain builds that you can't take off (like windows of opportunity) and those builds don't really help you learn the maps or improve! And no problem mate! Looping is simple and fun when you know where to run and where to stop! But a struggle until that happens!

Can literally make a guide for any map! It's the reason I wish all the ultimate guides were done! Not for wishing it was over or dreading the work, but because literally could make any guide in the game! And it feels bad sitting on a ton of info like that behind an "editing" wall since I can't just work on them all at once! This is the plan eventually! Once that idea had started being floated around I started highlighting just about every survivor match I've played so I might be able to have examples of whichever killer the video will be for on every single map! Used to stop highlighting matches on maps where a full guide was done for it but no longer! Now just highlight every surv match! Literally have almost 3500 matches highlighted 😂

Theres like no good tiles and even the ones that should be good are still awful! Like the house (not main) window connected to the unsafe couch pallet! The couch pallet is already unsafe AND the killer can hit you over the corner of it meaning its even more unsafe than it appears!

This was just going to be a single loop tip video but since the map was literally brand new I tried to cover very briefly some other areas, but still wanted to keep the focus on the main loop! Am going to do a full guide on this map eventually though!

Think outside the box: Don't. I've played this map loads and most survivors knew this loop. Upstairs are enough gens. You gotta play it smart. Get some hooks downstairs, too, but keep upstairs most of the time. As soon as all gens are done downstairs, never go back downstairs. As soon as they go down there, leave chase. You should have enough hook stages by now that it's possible to pressure them just by getting that one uncareful player that stays at gens for too long. You can also use the knowledge that survivors want to go downstairs 100% of times if your killer has some kind of teleport. In chase, you know where the destination is, anyway. Chase them, teleport downstairs and more often than not, they run into your arms. If it's just an injured state and not a down, leave chase for upstairs. Survivors only should do that chase with you in endgame if at all. The map is strong enough to never need to do that.

It was pretty confusing at first! Spent 2 days in the ptb, then another hour right after release just exploring the map, and still ran the wrong way at the bottom of the stairs in public matches 😂
I believe the only change this map needs is some kind of a tile or structure upstairs to prevent survivors run straight from portal to portal but also add something to play with there. Right now you dont need to be juicer to figure out how easy it is to connect portals and just hold shift+W from one to another.

they should also make it so that there is no cooldown after a surv goes through the portal for the killer! They should be able to go right in after them!

The 5 hour version coming eventually! Gotta get one of those for every map! The good thing is this was a test on how fast I could make these tip videos...This video took like 2 hours total. Once more of the longer guides are done I could definitely put multiple videos, like this, out per week!
yo bro i just wanna inform you, your guides are so helpful man, i always run balanced landing, and when i get "The Game" map my pathing suddenly becomes demon mode active like i swear, i dropped 3 total pallets and we still got a 4 man out (i holed the killer 1 time) it was a vecna and the counter for mage hand is busted since mage hand is buffed. you can outrun him so easily and get to the pallet again. keep it up!

Don't need to drop pallets really! Thrown 11 all year and gonna post that one this weekend as just a fun little clip! People had kept asking me how often greeding pallets really works so I said fuck it I won't throw any! Only been trying to throw them when someone elses game is at stake but curiosity got the best of me a few of those and that 11th was one of them, but just wanted to try it! But thats the cool thing about this game! Literally anyone can do anything I can, and have just as much fun, and you don't need to buy any dlc or use any perks or even throw any pallets! Just some knowledge of where shit is and your good to go! At least on the survivor side anyway 😂

This loop wont work against singularity btw, just keep that in mind if u face him. The portal might save you tho.

Thanks Mr Tatorhead! Just used this looping trick in the dungeon section, on a killer and they commented in the end game chat “infinite=skill” lmao. And I replied “BHVR map design = peak”. Anyways, I was wondering about the portal in the book/purple stars room. When I take the portal it lead me to the end of a portal near an exit gate (not the killer shack one). However in your video it shows that you take the portal in that room, and end up near the tower and its portal. Is this by chance random? Or did BHVR do this intentionally to not have it close to another portal? Many thanks if you know.

This map seems to be the rare win win where the main loop is busted af but the rest of the map and gen spread favor the killer so runnin them windows is guilt free! 😂 I haven't completely figured the portals out yet and admittedly it has thrown me off! I'll go through it, turn the wrong way and head towards shack when I was trying to head towards main and be like "I swear I went this way last time" 😂 Wish I had a better answer for you but I don't just yet! Time will tell though!

I think they changed the Star Room portal. It now takes you closer to shack instead of towards the back of main. Was running this pathing when the video came out, now that portal takes you to a completely different area.

Haven't made it yet but I totally could! That's why I wish I had all of these map guides done since I totally do any of them! They just take time! Nostromo is easy! When you run up the main ramp with the circular table you run past it down the middle and take the first right! You will see the window at the end of that and run straight at it! Turn to the right (or left if looking behind) to make the killer cut you off that way with the drop down, but then cut to the ramp on the right side! You can see if the killer took the bait in the crack at the bottom left of the window! if they didn't then run to the left to get back to the circular desk in the main again. If you greed this pallet and the killer mind games themself enough to get to the other side of the circular seats, the distance is enough to cut down the hall way back to the window! If they took the bait, cut up the ramp on the right side and this is where it's nice to have pallets and/or frost pipes on these corners to greed or activate! If you are too far in front for that to work you wait in front of the pallet/pipes for the killer to get in position for you to use! Use it and get to the window! If you are very far in front though you might be able to get away with running around the frost pipes if they spawn first, the greeding the pallet to make it to the window! You can get pallets and frost pipes or neither! Usually when you have none on that ramp side you have more near the front, so you would try to work that way instead!

damn that's good! I know a lot of people are complaining about the dungeon area being too strong in favor of survivor, do you think it will be / should be changed? I usually only play killer and I haven't played against anything like THIS to have an opinion on it yet lol

The loop is pretty insanely strong but the killer never has to chase there. They literally can just guard the up top gens! Once they lose 2 gens up top though they gotta guard one down low! And I'd suggest guarding the jail cell side (left side) since it is weak af. I personally think this map is balanced! Been dying a lot on it since we can't get the gens done and having fun chases since the killer gotta chase someone down there eventually! Seems kinda like a win-win to me!
Have you ever thought to make looping guides against specific killers? I thought that would be a really interesting form of content you'd be well suited for!

This is a dumb question from a semi-new player but I don't understand why greeding a pallet works at all. It seems like a killer would get more value out of just lunging and taking the stun/breaking the pallet than to let you repeatably get so much distance on them. It is a mind game so at some point I suppose they have to call your bluff.

Most killers attempt to avoid the stun. Holding W is already strong if a survivor pre-drops the pallet, but combine that with the stun and it's even more distance.

This right here! People have been asking me how often killers respect so I have just been not throwing pallets this year as an experiment! You gotta throw pallets sometimes (going for saves, getting someone out of basement etc) but I've managed to only throw 11 this whole year! Gonna post that 11th this weekend! Was from 3 weeks ago 😂

No rng whatsoever! From my experience literally not even a pallet can be moved! Theres 3 on the left side and 3 on the right side downstairs, all static as well as the windows!
i got the new map and try to loop according to this guide, but i think i got the second variation of the map ? the only part that is the same is the entrance portal loop, and maybe the windows on the stairs, the exit portal is in a different place, and then theres like a whole new area + 2 prison cell connected, either that or i just lost my way around there xd

That's the left side! When you come down the stairs the area you are describing is to the left and the strong area is to the right!

Its good until you realize trapper pretty much hard counters that entire bottom side of the map. That castle has a guaranteed 3 gen in it every time, and trapper can literally use it as a psedo basement, even with the portal. Needless to say, as cool as this map is, it DEFINITELY has glaring issues, and needs to be changed ASAP.

This map would be AMAZING for trapper! Lowkey think besides the bugs they should keep it as is! Also personally think there should be no slowdown for the killer to go through the portal after the surv does they should just be able to go! and chase shouldnt break immediately like it does!
I have A LOT of experience as killer and after playing more than 5 times on this map i've learned something as killer : never go the the dugeon for 2 reasons : there is only 2 generators here ( waste of time ) and the pallets and windows are really strong underground so there's no point going there . Love your videos by the way 🙂.

I have had a 3 gen spawn in the dungeon before, its rare but it can happen and its pretty much gg if it does happen unless you never leave the dungeon

Every game I played today had 3 gens down there! The rest of the dungeon is pretty killer sided as well as the rest of the map so it kinda balances itself out! I wish killers could immediately go the portals instead of having to wait a bit after the surv though!
That doesn't bring much comfort when half of the gens are far away. Good luck vs a Billy.

Yeah the upstairs is bad! but that's what balances the map! It's big but the gen spread is nice, the filler tiles suck but the main tile rocks!

I use a controller with paddles! This helps tremendously! A button is heals/gens, X button is pallet throws/vaults, right bumper is skill checks, left bumper is crouch (those are the 4 also dedicated to the 4 paddles), sprint is left trigger and item use is right trigger!
I might get lost on the rest of the downstairs but at least I’ll know the loops! I’ll play like a pro in one area only lmao

The left side is pretty dangerous! Theres a portal at the back of it and 1 safe pallet with 2 unsafe pallets 1 window and thats it! and unless you can get to the portal it's pretty easy to get cornered down there!

If you had a deadhard looping build what perks would you run? Edit: what builds would you recommend to get better at looping?(answer both questions if possible)

I would recommend looping without dead hard first! Looping with dead hard gave me a lot of bad habits of trying to figure out how I could have used dead hard better when I went down, vs what I should have been doing which was focusing on the pathing that led to a dead hard play being necessary in the first place! I think the most important thing you can do to loop better is greed pallets! Killers can respect a lot which will reset the distance at a tile and get another chance to outplay eachother! Plus if they don't respect you can still judge if you could have been able to throw the pallet (meaning your pathing was good!) and on top of that, if you go down, the pallet is still there, for you go back to it and practice that tile again! Once you throw the pallet the tile is dead and can be practiced no more! So don't throw any pallets especially when you are full health! A lot of times you might even be able to make it to another tile off the greed alone! Once you have your pathing down, still using dead hard "for distance" is the best thing for you! that way you cover the distance that was outplayed by the killer to the pallet! learning to loop without dead hard build - windows of opportunity, balanced landing (turns tough spots into strong loops), off the record, decisive strike abusing dead hard build - dead hard, iron will (literally about to get buffed, and when it does, this perk), made for this, resilience

I usually greed 3 or 4 times until the killer gets really close and then drop and usually stun but recently I had a legion who was expecting the drop. Edit: also in the build you mentioned earlier, you said run DS and I was wondering if there’s a better perk or an alternative for it because I personally don’t get much value out of it, because of the whole conspicuous action thing

I appreciate it! And you can't go wrong with any one of these with those; Well make it, unbreakable, resilience, off the record, decisive strike, and kindred. I would personally run kindred and well make it, or well make it and unbreakable, but any combination with those would work well! Don't run kindred if you are on a swf though! Also fixated (self aware) and vigil work well with sprint burst too! But all kinda play into buffing sprint burst, and 3 perks dedicated essentially to buffing 1 is a lot!
I never get pallet on left side of main. But when I do. It's always the first to go down by some random.

I thought that window looked really strong, It's still too dark for me to navigate on console without windows though, I do love booning down there, it's a big time waster if the killer wants to put it out and it reaches above the grounds as well.

This map is SO dark! Actually though about messing with the lighting on this video but really wanted to keep it base kit so that other people who can't use shaders aren't literally and figuratively "left in the dark"! Hadn't thought about boons on this map though! Literally does take up a huge portion of the map on both levels!

Yup! Luckily the main building can be seen from anywhere on the map and all you have to do is get to the back of it for the portal that puts you right back in the strongest loop and breaks chase!

You could run Windows so that we see the loops better, both the map and recording are dark and make it at times harder to follow

I have considered this but imo it just clutters up the screen! Someone requested that I try out windows on one of the ptbs and I just ended up tuning out/ignoring all the auras mentally because there was so much shit on the screen 😂
Cant wait to test this map but my damn pc died the day the update dropped 😔

Someone literally ran me for more than a minute just by running through the 2 portals over and over again, which loop into each other btw. No mindgames, no nothing, they weren't even looking back and there was nothing my B-tier Killer butt could do other than just hold W after them 😭 I just hate how people with immense skill that can loop as well as you can get almost the same results as those who have a cat laying on their W key...not that person tho, they got clobbered into a 4K. Moral of the story: watch Tator (and sometimes his videos too ig) 👍

I own dbd on PC and the switch! So I walk around on survivor on pc running my yap, while standing afk on the switch on killer! Before it went on sale on the switch, my friend "YaboiMLT" (on twitch) would stand afk for me!

Another thing to mention is there's NO RNG for pallets & windows in the dungeon. Always in the same spots.

One pallet actually isn't always there. The window to the left of the stairs where there's a pallet down below and one directly above, the above one isn't guaranteed.

Lerys windows especially at main has been wonky. And I mean killer sees window but can walk right through it wonky. and ome common tiles on garden of joy's realm and borgos realm I have seen have common tiles that didn't have a window or a pallet 😂

RIGHT?! That window was one of the hardest running vaults in the entire game, and besides this setup, there is literally nothing else on the map, worth running to if getting tunneled. Like literally at all 😂
