For some reason the fade in transition is free again, so I hope you all enjoy that it is back now.

Something I think is also important to mention about the Shindo and Godzilla scene. Shindig also felt guilty for leaving the dinosaur for dead on the island, and now that he realizes that that dinosaur turned into Godzilla, it lead to his actions having a hand in creating Godzilla. When Godzilla meets him up face-to-face, you can actually see Godzilla seem to recognize him and even start to cry a little bit. Shindo confront his guilt and sins and asks Godzilla to kill him, with Godzilla hesitating to kill him, but eventually does anyway. Shindo not only payed the price for becoming to powerful but also creating Godzilla, something that shouldn't exist, yet it does.

Interesting viewpoint. I was focusing a lot on the big metaphorical meaning, but I love discussing the characters as well. Shindo truly was a multifaceted man, making him a complex character. I like that you brought up him feeling guilty about the whole thing. It adds nuance and shows he was aware, but ultimately accepted his fate anyway.

It is something that sticks with you. Not something one would expect from this movie, but it is captivating in a way like no other Godzilla scene.
