Great video deef. Thanks for the reminder that everyone has their own things to deal with. I actually just got back into the game after my uncle was taken in a car crash 2 months ago so this video actually felt a bit personal to me and now I’ve also put a good few hours into immersing myself into this game. Thanks for being one of the few to touch on the reality we all deal with and just thanks altogether bro, you made my day.

More than that! Playing games (CoD mostly, in my case, and some Wildlands solo) has helped me manage my anxiety down from crippling dow to moderate to severe. I integrated it into my therapy for the same reason you did: it was the first place in many where I could forget myself and not hear the self criticism all the time. It's a feggin game, you're supposed to play it. It helped that I allowed myself to be bad at it at first. Loads more to say, but.. yeah.. it's your video and all :p Edit: started playing little over a year back, at 43 years of age. This is very much an ongoing thing.

I am on my missus account, i say that for clarity. But listening too what you said, hit home for me personally. So i am 44, 45 in Sep. I joined the British Military in 97 aged 17 with PWRR, Sniper.... for a little over 10 years, and attachment sniper too 2Para towards the end of my career, then went in too the personal security sector. Gaming was always a part of my life, back at barracks, when we were shipped to Pompey to train the NAVY boys on Whale Island, on a stop over base at Marchwood, or even in Iraq, Afghan... There was always a PS2, PS3, 360 kicking about that we would play on. But when i left the military and personal security, my real battle began.... i went a bit mental too be fair, rage, anger, drinking.... all i did was drink, go clubbing, fight, gym work.... rinse and repeat. When i left the military life it screwed me up as i had nothing too channel all the crap that was in my head. I had to get help in the end, hearing you have battle stress or battle trauma as they now term it, rather than PTSD... I was chucked on meds, Sotalol, Mitazapine, Diazapam, Zoplicone and i admit i just felt like a total failure. But gaming, as ridiculous as it sounds, saved me. I love jumping on with pals, but they aren't always available too play. But like you...... Ghost Recon, BF, ARMA, Incursion Red River, Tarkov, Insurgency. Playing military sims is what i know as it's familiar with my past..... But it's a release as your mind just totally zones out. Either playing with pals or on your own, it just nullifies the mind, and all the memories, flashbacks, PTSD bulls##t just takes a back seat. Gaming, friends and talking really does help. If anyone is reading this, and they are down, depressed.... TALK, talk too anyone..... Jump online with pals and just have a laugh. Christ, if ya have nobody too jump online with, leave your platform and tag here, and i'll add ya, i'm across PS, Xbox and PC. But it really does help. Great video fella.

I don't know your name, but I read every word - and I appreciate you sharing this, as well as leaving the door open for others to walk into the conversation as well. That sounds like one hell of a time, and I don't know how you managed to get through it, but you did, and I'm happy for ya mate. Cheers to you, life is about it's downs as much as it's about the ups, wouldn't be life if it were a straight, boring line I guess. I'll echo that talking to anybody can genuinely be a lifesaver. I spoke to my partner, not long ago about why so many young men struggle, and she simply said "it's because you don't talk about your emotions" and not to tar us all with the same brush, but for me at least, in the past, she was bang on. Playing with others, playing games period, is some kinda medicine for me that I can't get anyway else. Cheers again mate, appreciate ya.

I really appreciate your candid description of your past and reasons for picking up this game. I have loved every video of yours that I've seen and 100% believe you should/will have a much larger following than you currently do. This video really resonated with me and has made me realise that I can’t keep all of myself bottled up(if that makes sense) so I hope you don’t mind but I might go on a small rant here for a bit. So when I was 3, my mother and sisters were shopping in London while me and my dad were back home at the Ulster transport museum, when leaving my dad got a call that my mum had an epileptic seizure and was in hospital. She frequently had seizures in and outside the house and it changed me and has made me. My mother battled this for 13 years and in this time I became numb to a lot of emotions (like love and in some ways happiness) but last year on June 13th my mum passed away and with her I felt a piece of me pass too. Not only that but only a few months later my great aunt (mums aunt) maud kells got diagnosed with cancer and passed away soon after. They were two of the most resilient and religious women I knew and I hope they are smiling down on us from heaven. The past year has been difficult for us all and I have entered a spiralling depression and with that came a curiosity for military shooter games which in turn led me to you. Your videos have helped me out immensely and I can’t thank you enough for unknowingly helping me and others through tough times. Keep making excellent videos and we all wish you good health

I watched one of your first videos just randomly a year or so ago and was blown away by how cool the video was set up. You made you and your friend in the video at that time seem like actual ghost recon soldiers and blur line, for me, between game a reality. I have always had a soft spot for wildlands and I’ve said before on one of your older videos that I’ve tried breakpoint a few times but couldn’t really get into it. There was something about it that, at the time, seemed tedious, boring, or confusing. Watching your videos back then is what kept me coming back to try it again and again till now, I frickin love the game. I’m obsessed with cosmetics and of course the stuff I want requires me to basically beat the whole game lol, but I have so much fun working towards it. Basically the point of this is to say you’re the reason I’m playing this game even after giving up on it a million times. So thank you and I hope you keep sharing these one-of-a-kind videos!!

For me it was the division that changed my life, I went through this crazy run of bad luck (got my throat cut and stabbed in the neck and my face cut from right ear across to the bridge of my nose) and I got really withdrawn from people cause they always stared at the scar or asked about it. Played the division and made friends on that game I’m still friends with eight years later! I ended up going out to see some of them and they knew about what happened and were absolutely brilliant people. We take for granted just how many people have issues and literally use these games as an escape from reality for whatever it is that’s wore them down. Gonna need to try removing all the hud and sound options on breakpoint for sure, been ages since I played it. Thing the predator was just released then. Good few years ago. Lol. All the best bud from Glasgow and hope you keep making these videos man. ✌️

First I want to thank you for speaking out about your mental health and difficult times, it's not easy to do and this negative stigma it has is unjustified. I have a plethora of games where fond memories were created and to this day, I know which game helped me during which moment. From Splinter Cell series, Ghost Recon, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Hitman, Souls borne games, Silent hill, Resident Evil, The last of Us, the list goes on. I believe games that provide an immersive experience to the player in a way that creates a high level of verisimilitude, means the creators of said game were successful. Short sided people who don't understand that video games is not just for kids, games nowadays are so deep with their story, graphics, immersion that it's a perfect way out for many. Depression is serious, life is hard, and playing games for me is like therapy. It gets me through the toughest times, as does playing sports, reading books, music, social activities. Using Ghost Recon Breakpoint/Wildlands as an example; Just walking around, looking at the environment, peaceful, there's something about it. The concentration that it requires to tactfully clean up areas. I feel like I'm there and it's an incredible feeling. I want to play games until I am unable to, I started playing Super mario 3 on Nintendo when i was 3 or 4 yrs old, Im 37 now and I will continue to do what makes me happy, to hopefully continue my pursuit of happiness. Fantastic video!

I've tried but the desynchronization with other people on console is BY FAR the biggest "breaking point" for this title .... You get spotted by guys on your buddy's screen that isn't there on yours. The silencer could be attached on my screen but unmuzzled on my friends. Its just that every single time we try to enjoy it, something breaks or rips us completely out of the immersion. ( And that's just the technical stuff that pulls us out constantly; not to mention the futuristic crap many of us would LOVE to do without). I love Wildlands WAY more imo but that's entirely because of the setting, atmosphere & conflicts more so than it being "a better game". There's many little things they improved upon and did right here but much of what made Wildlands my favorite (and so special) just was missing in this one. Great video regardless and looking forward to more in the future

Fair warning - essay incoming. When you were talking about how GRBP helped you out, it reminded me of how LA Noire & GTA 5 helped me through some shit. It was 2013, I was 15, and my pop had his first stroke of 3 (maybe 4, we're not sure about that last one) - the first was his worst one, because he went from being highly independent to heavily reliant on others. My mum - one of his many, many kids - was the only one who stepped up to help him; everyone else was more than happy to coast along & let my parents deal with the hard yakka - you ask me, I think they (mum's siblings, just to be clear) were just waiting for him to croak so they could swoop in & steal his money. Anyway, I was in 9th grade, and my attendance was spotty at best, but not too long after pop moved in, I found myself feeling like shit all the time, and it got to the point where I didn't go back to school for the rest of the year. I couldn't really do anything to help my mum & dad, and I felt completely useless. My mum took me to a shrink, and I was diagnosed with depression, which is still a constant companion almost 11 years later, and I was struggling with the most basic things. I had a TV & my X360 set up in my bedroom and I'd play LA Noire and, when it came out, GTA 5. I still have fond memories of working the Homicide desk on cold rainy days, huddled under blankets on my bed. I remember playing GTA 5 with my dad late at night when pop was asleep & he didn't have to watch out for him. Eventually, I got help, went back to school, met some people that had a big impact on my late teens & early 20s, but I credit those games with giving me enough breathing room to help me get back to where I needed to be. I haven't finished the video yet, but I felt compelled to share. Thanks for the videos, Deef. Stay cool, legend 🤙

i still remember opening that gift from my brother on christmas and seeing a ghost recon title i’ve never heard of, never saw any trailers or heard any hype- just got the game and played it when i first played it was a really in depth realistic take on the division game, crossbred with ghost recon. when i came back to it the devs had taken to hyper realism type updates- focusing on milsim and real world elements to create a tactical and realistic environment i haven’t seen many games get the love from their respective creators the way breakpoint has, they waited until ubisoft stopped holding the game accountable for making money and they straight up made a passion project with a triple A financial backing… they’re goddamned geniuses. not only did they add the milsim aspects, but they’ve allowed us the ability to customize most of the gameplay experience to suit us individually, GHOST EXPERIENCE PARAMETERS is the kindest gift a dev team has ever handed gamers in a vanilla experience

How I got into this game was. I used to be a “gta TikToker” last year (2023) I decided to randomly start drama/beef between big gta TikTokers, (I’ll spare you the long story) which lead to one creator blocking me & others not to be chill with me, well I still am chill with some. But I decided I would try Ghost Recon out. (First it was wildlands bc of gamepass) & i enjoyed it, but then my friend was like what game is that, and we decided on downloading the newer one which was Breakpoint. We thought it was a gonna be a short-phase of this game, but for me I fell in love with it. I enjoyed how you have the free-roam of like gta, but in mil-sim game! I decided to post Ghost Recon on my TikTok, at first the views low, but now they’re steady. But Now In 2024: My TT Account i post GR:BP & Fortnite (and im happy we’re im at)

I too have had some good experiences with this game that keeps me playing. I am an Army veteran and being a console player we are pretty limited with tactical shooters. When the immersive mode came out it was peaceful, tense and nostalgic. I am mostly solo due to not having anyone that has stuck around or that plays on the more realistic settings. But with all that said it is still lots of fun running those solo operations and looking forward to the future of ghost recon to continue to have those feelings that I have had with this game. I absolutely love this game and I love the fact that you play the game similar in style. I just love the realism and the immersion the game provides when played in a particular fashion. Some of my friends don’t know how I can play this game the way I do with the settings but I just think it’s because they never given it a try. Their ghost experience is configured very differently than mines so they always ask me why I move slow and don’t just run in. They see the enemies locations, no injuries, take tons of damage. Feeling like a god in this type of game just isn’t the most fun for me. It’s cool for like 10 minutes but then it gets extremely boring when there is no threat of death and you don’t need to use all the mechanics to scout the area and plan tactics. Exploration mode you get lost, I love having to search areas for the objectives and etc. I like to think I was deployed so I just gotta survive, so I don’t use bivouacs and pretty much live off the land. If I need a vehicle to move faster, then go to a compound and steal the helicopter. I just haven’t played in first person yet and I am a big fan of first person games. I just didn’t wanna have to install all the cheat engine and etc. I really do hope Ubisoft makes first person an option in the next release. I mean…the series started off as a first person shooter way back the day.

Actually the rule was: start new character, if he dies only once delete the save and start from scratch. 😅 I did this at least 20 times, never managed to get through the game like that but it generates so much intensity and forces you to be on your toes. And after the first few times, when you're really pissed off for dying, you start appreciating the absolute hilarious things that get you killed. 😂Because it is never the hard missions or locations that you expect, most times it is some really stupid random encounter or driving off a cliff by accident or something like that. 😂😂😂

Breakpoint is an amazing looking game, I loved the story for it (at least the base concept) and the way it plays is amazing it's just the world being very dry and dead sucks (although it's understandable since it's meant to be under martial law, just not the best for gameplay reasons with such a big map). Not much else to do other than take on the same base or mission for what feels like the 100th time even tho it's on the opposite side of the map (I'm not much of an imaginative person so its hard for me to come up with some cool or elaborate reason to be taking on this random base or area).

One of the things I most want from project over is Insurgency Sandstorm esque gunplay. The sounds, customization, ttk and recoil actually make the weapons feel realistic. One of the biggest gripes with BP is that some weapons sound absolutely awful (looking at you 416) and the logic behind not being able to suppress weapons that were suppressable in WL or use certain attachments even though almost all weapons use picattiny rails (the t1 and the LPVOs being the biggest offenders)

22:25 I cant play 1st person perspective games… Red Dead 2 nailed both perspectives back in 2018… i mean both perspectives should be standard upon launch of any shooter, let alone a tactical shooter. Inside buildings I would love to switch to first person when clearing rooms but outside… yeah I HAVE to be in 3rd person. As much as I love Ghost Recon, i will not buy the next one if its 1st person only. That makes me sad.

Both options should be available to us, I agree, let the player choose their playstyle

How do you get these conematic shots when there's no free/spectator camera? I assume it's the normal over the shoulder view but you crop the frame?

I, too, really enjoy this game. It can be as hardcore (or not) as you want it to be. The settings options are great. Agree with you on all points here. My main CON of this game is the reliance on a connection to Ubisoft servers and online services. When those go down for hours at times, it’s infuriating. Or when I had my internet go out after a pretty severe storm for 4 days. It really begs the question of WHY they insist on doing this for singleplayer games. I understand it’s for mtx store access, etc, but I feel there’s many people who steered clear of this game due to this issue, because it means one day it will be a game that was paid for that is no longer playable. I feel the base sales they could have gained would make up for the MTX money they gained. I’m not super anti-MTX but I really didn’t buy much at all from the store. I think I spent $5 on a balaclava I preferred. I really think base sales would see a boon if they did away with it.

Yep, 100% on board with no more DRM. I hope they have a contingency plan or some way to match to a players connection setup, but I'm worried they won't. Time will tell.. I remember when we "lost" multiplayer in AC, and it was awful, I miss it still to this day :(

I am actually happy that the game preservation discurs now started to really gather attention with ubisoft shutting down the crew. I dont know what I would do when they chose to shutdown Breakpoints servers; the game just has a very special place in my heart.

I would hope they would find a way to not do that, I think updating the game to no longer need DRM would at the very least let us keep playing it without need for online, I've seen other games update their games to push out DRM, so it must be doable.

This is my first time watching one of your videos. The quality of the video is insane. Definitely should have more subscribers. By the way are you using any visual mods. I've been playing the game recently and it doesn't look as clean as this. For some reason my game looks really foggy with a slight blur even though I have blur turned off and have everything cranked up.

Hey I think this is my first time seeing Ur channel but I love it, I very much enjoy breakpoint and I'm gonna go back to it and was wondering what it took you to make things such as that intro and if you would have any idea how to replicate that on a console. And sorry for your loss it's always hard and as bad as bottling it up is definitely relatable and I just hope things are uphill for you and keep up the great content

ArmA 3 and all previous and future games have both 1st and 3rd person views. Switching between both can be very helpful.

Yep, I remember having that option in DayZ Mod and it was great. All they have to do is implement options like not being able to 3rd person peak while in 3rd person, so they people can't hold a corner and see other players or enemies. And again, if they're playing alone, stick it in the immersion options as a toggle. Arma's customisation levels are off the charts, and I don't see why Ubisoft can't take a few notes from their playbook at this stage.

Impressive quality shots. At first thought this gonna be Snow trail seque vidl, but it's more of discussion. Ok, to be fair i want some more like Tlou 2 options - hiding under the cars, more advanced parkour faster and more realistic movement, non lethal takedowns. Underwater exploring More immersive fast travel option. Tactical HALO jumps from airplane. Weapons on swings. Just now grounded and realistic game And i want really deep systems in open world, hunting eco systems, fractions wars, civilians etc.

Ive always liked Ghost Recon because its the closest we can get to present/ near future warfare. Breakpoint was an eye opener and now I think I may give it another try souly because of you!
