I really appreciate you being so into bass! It's so rare to find instructions for bass fly fishing. I just passed the swiss fishing exam (otherwise you can't buy any permit because of our solid animal protection laws) and want to start fly fishing here. And there is lots of bass here (european perch)! But most of the people go for spinning and whatsoever and refer to fly fishing as "the silly waving thing." So thank you a lot! I'm starting to get well prepared!

Alvin... Nice easy tie... Your D2 is very similar to your gugler. Which I tie.. On tying your gugler I add a front piece of strip foam to the front of it. Simulator to your D2.... I have found out the the extra piece of strip foam Gives the fly more turbulence in the action. Have had more strikes than with out.... Phillipe the pirate... Lake Butler Florida.

Man I really like these guide flies. Easy to tie and catches fish. Thanks for sharing.

So cool! I don’t fly fish but I love watching you guys come up with the craziest things! Have you every gotten into Fly fishing for carp? It’s starting to gain some traction in America and carp fishing in general is so much fun. The American Carp Society introduced me to the idea I had no idea people went after them on the fly. Keep up the great work dude!

Make an R2 next and make it a drop fly. Then you can fish the R2 & D2 at the same time

I made a dedeaux popper that was green with two green zonker strips. The strip pause strip pause action has killed those bass in the Sabine River. It even got chased by a gator. I’m gonna try this one too

It's an old Abel vise. I think they only made one model.

Thanks so much for sharing Alvin great vid as always! Quick question - how do you recommend repairing a broken loop on sinking fly line? Retie a perfection loop in the fly line directly or attach a mono extension with a nail knot and perfection loop off the mono?

Nail knot with a couple of feet of heavy mono butt section.

You can do either. I haven't noticed much difference.

Can we see it in the tracking in the water?
