They had the Leviathan trial just about ready to go when the tsunami struck Fukushima in 2011... Good King Moogle Mog XII arose from the need to find a replacement fast. Stroke of genius, IMO - one might even say evil genius considering the boss theme.

One of the biggest examples of "if you know you know". If someone tells you the trick it's actually on the easier end of EX trials, but figuring it out on your own sounds like a pain.

Yep it was tough to get it and then just a few pulls after that

The old version of the fight was much harder because you had to attack the Moogles in a specific order. Otherwise there was a wipe, I tried countless times 😅Looks like they only changed the light version because the heavy version looks almost the same as before. Still, something is missing. Things that look too cute in FFXIV are always something to be wary of.

The (hard) moogle fight wasn't all that difficult, you just needed people to not do too much damage to the king. The 'order' wasn't that restrictive either, the reality was that you just needed to kill all but like 2 of the small moogles (IE can leave up the tank moogles), it was just easier if you focused down the most dangerous ones first.

This extreme fight reminds me of the Faction Champions from Trial Of The Crusader, only with better music. Edit: there are videos of an old fanfest where Soken has Koji-Fox sing Good King Moggle Mog on stage, and it is glorious.

Didn't take too long! But there was about 30 minutes I got stuck for :(

I'm not a good player. Still, I had to *carry* people through this fight, with Echo, without Min-iLVL, while giving them the instruction from the get go, and they still didn't get it after more than a full lockout. The fact that you found the strat pretty much by yourself during the second one is rather impressive in comparison.

imagine doing that Trial on patch day when there's no guides to fall back on, and nobody knows wtf they've just gotten themselves into XD the shattered remnants of my soul still hurt remembering that as the main healer with 0 mp, and a dead co-healer, I was still expected to keep everyone else alive...

This fight was a nightmare at the time of release. Much easier after years

I still tank this specific extreme in my nightmares

None of them are dancers bro. They would only be the original jobs as this was part of the base game

Just so you know if the green next to the names of the mobs is red then you have agro. Also the times you got one shot was probably a dps check. This some things you can note if you didn’t know this can also can help on future extremes. Plz do not take any of this offensively (I don’t do extremes so if this is wrong I apologize and if I’m wrong on eny of this plz correct me) and congrats on the clear

No extreme is ever required don't worry! And don't let the hard fool you, it's normal difficulty. The hard on Ifrit, Titan and Garuda is because they have MSQ baby trials, so the normal trials are "hard". They drop this by HW so don't worry. The "hard" dungeons are the same, they aren't hard just different.

The extreme isn't required, but I think you should be fine if you wanted to try it 🙂Even duty finder groups that include sprouts can clear it without many pulls

@@Fhalei Yeah a few of my friends did Garuda extreme blind and managed to beat it within a pull or two. I'm pretty sure you can just straight up tank the move that requires the plume-shield with current gear.

I still use my mog fork as glamour on my lance when playing DRG

I thought they removed the have to kill them in the right order mechanic, but that looks like it may still be there on EX, at least when you MINE it, cus I know unsynced you can just smash them and go about your business, they all get up once though so maybe it is still out of order you can just merc the king before he casts. That fight was a pain the first time through back when it released.

i honestly hate this EX fight, i understand the mechanics of it all, but its just too chaotic for me...and i love chaotic fights

it's one of the worst trials yes xd
