This feels illegal to do in Nepal, Lalitpur 🇳🇵

Arriving in another city, Lalitpur, a short drive from Kathmandu. Lalitpur is Nepal's fourth most populous city after Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Bharatpur. It is located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley, a new metropolitan city of Nepal. Lalitpur is also known as Manigal.
Introducing you to Krishna Mandir, a 17th-century Shikhara-style temple built by King Siddhi Narsing Malla. It is located at Patan Durbar Square. But I had mixed feelings about how open it is to the public. This is 300+ years old structure, and it just feels illegal to walk around it, touch it, sit on it, and some people even leave their trash around it. I felt like more attention needs to be given to such a structure and protect it for future generations with love. What do you think?

Most of the structures or the heritage sites in Nepal are from before 299 AD .. it’s not just 300 years old .. it’s more than 1700 years old … 😊😊 They were built somewhere in the 3rd century to up to 16th century BC so, yes, all these Durbar squares you see in Kathmandu valley are like an open museum… everything should be protected .. but, unfortunately, these structures were made for the people to use it like a common public centers - and people who live in these places have been doing so for 1000’s of years … hence they continue to do so !! Also, these ancient structures are all over; hence, it’s almost impossible to keep public out of these places !! That’s why UNESCO is trying to protect it .. “Golden temple” is indeed a site to visit if you are in Lalitpur .. !! The guide was not wrong. Kathmandu valley is divided into 3 cities; Kathmandu city, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. All within Kathmandu Valley. Regarding Buddhism, in Nepal, Hinduism and Buddhism go hand in hand…. Buddha is considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu… all Hindus worship Buddha as well…. also, since Buddha was born in Nepal 100% of Nepalese respect Buddha either as God, a teacher or guru, or saint … !! If you visit any Hindu Temple, you also find Buddha !! Buddhism comes from Hinduism- it’s all a part of Dharmik religions !! Nepal has 3 major religions; Buddhism, Hinduism and tourism!! Thank you for visiting Nepal !!

Patan Durban square was evidently built around 300 AD which means it is around 1700 years old not 300 years. Thanks for showing your viewers this fascinating place. The statue is a symbolism for the tenacity of his resolve and trance that Buddha was in during his meditation that nothing was able to distract him.

The story behind the idol the women is showing you is Buddha and his disciples were traveling. It was monsoon season so they couldn't travel and stopped at a village. They were to stop at the village for 2 and a half month. Buddha told everyone that one should not stay in someone's place for more than 2 days because the 1st day is for resting and the 2nd day is for preparation to leave. If you stay more than that the host will be burdened by you. But because it was monsoon season he let them stay for 2 and half months at one place. Anandatheertha or Ananda was one of Buddha's disciples. Everyone found a place to stay and Ananda was also searching a place to stay. A lady comes out of a house and asks Ananda to come inside. It was a prostitute's house. Ananda said that he will ask Buddha whether he could accept the lady's invitation or not. The lady tauntingly said " Oh, so you're going to ask your guru". Ananda went to Buddha and asked him. Buddha said "if she is welcoming you so endearingly you should accept the offer and stay there". People started laughing. Buddha said "Why are you laughing? He just accepted an invitation. I think the way I live is powerful than any other way humans live. If her ways are more powerful than mine I should also go and see". Ananda went inside the house along with Buddha. His clothes were drenched so she wrapped a silk garment over him (Ananda). At evening she prepared food and offered them to eat. At night she asked them weather she could dance for them. Buddha said yes. So she danced and sang. Hearing the music the others started saying "his monkhood is ruined" . Many of his disciples left. After the monsoon season was over Ananda emerged out of the house with a female monk.
