    For the past 2 years, I was scared about hating the ending due to these manga readers. Today, I can genuinely say as an anime-only viewer that it was done right. Thank you for creating a masterpiece from start to finish Iyasama!🙏🏾

    Eren's eyes were closed the whole time during the rumbling, but he opened his eyes just to see Mikasa last time

    Eren was able to exterminate all the Titans, but he was unable to stop the chain of conflict. Eldia fell into militarism and was eventually destroyed by bombardment. However, Eren was able to protect the future of his friends and loved ones, and in the end, protecting the friends around him may have been the best Eren could do. Throughout the story, I was skeptical of Mikasa's inability to make the decision to abandon Eren, who had fallen into nationalism, but when I saw Mikasa crying for Eren at the end, I was made to realize how cruel a decision that was for her.

    I find the cyclical ending so fascinating. Naturally left ambiguous, but the implication is evident. That tree, that scarf, what seems to be 2000 years, it all comes back around. That last shot is such a perfect one to end on.

    Just for clarification, Eren and Armin did meet at the paths right before Armin and Annie spoke on the boat. But Eren erased Armin’s memory of talking to Eren (where he disclosed having eliminated 80% of humanity and much more) in which he restored the memory with Armin after Eren died. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    It was a beautiful ending. Amazing finish. The path basically started with ymir who loved fritz but wasn't able to kill him even after the atrocities he did and ended with Mikasa killing eren who she loved the most and still ended up killing him for the sake of humanity. Nicely done.

    What Armin and Zeke said really resonated with me. That “Little things like that are what made me feel like I was born for that that moment” it’s very compelling, for the longest time we all have been there wondering why we continue living, what’s the point of life where we have been longing and waiting for some big moments to happen in life.

    The reason most people didn’t like the ending at first was because the manga explained it in a weird and sudden way, and left out details that the anime clarified, plus the end credit scene with the tree wasn’t in the manga ending, it got added a month or so after as extra

    If you remember correctly in Season 3 Episode 6, Erwin literally said this "Peace between men will never be certain, not until our numbers fall to 1 or less."

    whether or not you liked the ending, this has been the end of an era. this show got a lot of people into anime.

    I always thought that Eren and Mikasa's relationship was pretty lacking but this ending actually made the entire thing not only make sense, but also made me really fall in love with each of their characters all over again. Same goes for Armin and Eren's friendship. Armin telling Erin that they'll spend eternity in hell together fucks me up, ngl. And it's so perfect that Eren could only tell Armin his most intimate feelings. He couldn't even tell Mikasa, so she would be able to move on, despite the fact that he doesn't actually want her to move on in his heart. It's a mess of emotion and conflict, and that's exactly why it's such a perfect ending for a series like AoT that's all about the human condition.

    @zr8815

    so basically Attack on Titan is a story about Mikasa, in Eren's POV, and narrated by Armin
