This Electric BIKE / MOPED is GENIUS! - Eskuta SX-250 Series 3
This is the Eskuta sx-250 series 3 and it is fantastic! Motorcycle grade components to make it basically a moped that's legal for 14 year olds to ride. But is so much more than transport for kids. The SX250 would be perfect for older riders who want to get mobile again but want the security of moped features like turn signals, amazing hydraulic disc brakes and fantastic suspension, as well as the helping hand given by the motor.
This is the Eskuta SX-250 series 3 and it is great!
This will not be the last time the Eskuta SX-250 is featured on this channel so make sure you subscribe if you want to see more or other awesome e-mobility content.

At 15 miles per hour, when my e-bike flipped over, I broke my arm and fractured my skull. Now, after almost a month off work, I have a titanium plate in my arm and still a lot of pain every day. I was lucky to get out of it with my eyesight intact and no broken vertebrae or bleeding on the brain. I don't blame the bike for this and am itching to get out to ride again, but I won't be allowed to until August. That was at 15 miles per hour. Imagine how much worse all of that probably would have been if I'd been going faster. I love my e-bikes and scooters and wouldn't be without them but, please, before going on about how much better they'd be if they went faster - maybe even making people want to mod their machines - think about how badly that extra speed can make things go. Speed isn't everything and at faster speeds, they are just not safe.

Sorry about your accident. I had a motorcycle accident back in 2015, got run over by a distracted driver who was totally at fault for running a stop sign. I had my safety gear on(helmet, gloves, jacket, chaps, boots) but I still have to have neck Micro-fracture surgery(12 screws in my neck.) as well as a plate on my left ankle and some internal surgeries. I recently ordered a DYU D3F e-bike that I plan on riding slowly on sidewalks and against traffic when I have to get on the roadway, which hopefully won't be often(I live in a small town in South Texas. Whataburger is 1.5 miles away...:)). I think that with all the distracted drivers out there, older folks like me(I'll be 65 in July, God willing) are better off staying off of roadways, using an e-bike that is not fast, easy to get on/off of, that also gives us the ability to pedal, and has a good range. I'm not riding the DYU until my skating helmet that has a front and rear lights arrives. I'm looking forward to getting back on 2 wheels(I have a couple of recumbent adult tricycles that I ride on bike paths.).

I came off downhill at 34mph when my front wheel folded . If i was not in full winter gear with two hats on i wouldn't be posting this . I knew i had worn the front wheel past its brake wear grooves but i kept putting it off ...I was head to toe bruised and had a knee bursa for months . New wheel now! but i do worry about these 30..40mph ebikes everywhere . I did speak to a policeman who did say they were illegal but unless you were a dick on one there was very little if any enforcement. I have a 250w road legal switch but in UK the throttle makes it illegal anyway yet there a million times better than pedal assist.

Our laws are mad. I understand that it has to be speed limited at15 or 20mph but the power should be what is needed to keep a heavy person at that speed up a normal hill.

yep couldn't agree with you more. its the speed that is the bit people in general are bothered about. 15mph is more than reasonable if we are going to keep giving these things the same rights as pushbikes get. or letting school kids use them. the motor power is irrelevant.

This looks amazing. I'm guessing it's more of a commuter bike than a tourer of any description. I currently have a standard electric bike which I use around town going to and from my part time work three or four times a week. I love the bike, but don't always feel especially safe. I've given up trying to navigate roundabouts on it, as I might as well have a target on my back. The fact that this looks a bit more substantial and has indicators might improve my confidence a little. The big disappointment I have with my electric is that I get nowhere even close to the range it claims to have. Have you yet done the in depth review of this one? If not can you (or any other kind reader) tell me roughly how far (town use) this would go on a full charge? The price, by the way, seemed pretty good to me!

All good unless you are involved in a collision...You'll be liable wether it was your fault or not, even if you weren't using the throttle at the time. Say a pedestrian jumps out from behind a car with no warning, you both end up in hospital, you will be held liable for injury and damages...As long as you know.

You can only have a throttle on a bike bought in 2016 or later if it assists the rider without pedalling at a maximum of 6km/h (3.7 mph). These "twist and go" throttles are designed to help people who have difficulty starting due to injury or disability

The key for ebike stuff is stabilized footage which gopro 7 on is good at. And decent sound without wind noise (put a fluffy dead cat thing on the mic). I use the mediamod on my gopro 9 which allows me to plug in an external mic but you could just get one for your phone and record sound there and edit together later.

Enjoyed the review. The peddling style looks a bit unnatural to me and the lack lustre power going up, what appears to be; a gentle hill climb would concern me. I purchased a relatively low cost (£400) 2nd hand Giant ebike and it’s had no problems getting up much steeper hills, even at the lowest power mode! The Eskuta does look comfortable and I like the suspension and other moped related gear and comfort.👍

Glad you enjoyed it. The hill in this video is about 12% and 750w ebikes and 800w scooters have failed to get up it on throttle only. When i did it on the eskuta I was pressing the green button rather than pedalling and I'd forgotten it only works under 6kph. I'll do it again soon with the pedals to compare. But still impressed it got up when others didn't.

@HDsharp about 100kgs. 12 degrees is actually pretty steep. But this hill isn't even 12 degrees it's 12% which is around 7 degrees. But in the real world it's a tough hill. No one ever cycles up it. Check out my second to last video about escooters and hill climbing. Ebikes do get up easy with pedalling but they really struggle without human help.

@@e-VRC My Giant Hybrid Escape 2 bike is pretty heavy by modern standards! The sync drive rear wheel hub motor would “easily” enable me to ride up a hill of that incline, and even steeper if required. Although you are correct in saying the rider needs to pedal, from experience; the effort required is minimal, even in the lowest power mode (Eco). My bike is that good, I could climb a steep hill with no “run up”, even when the bike starts off in a high gear. If I drop down to say 2nd gear and let the bike slow down, as soon as I “gently” pedal, the motor kicks in and enables me to climb most hills. If I chose to select “sport” mode, the bike could accelerate up most hills enabling me to shift up to one of the highest gears (say 5 or 6). My understanding is the motor works on torque, not cadence.

It's 250w and 36v.... puny but in the real world of getting about town with shopping it's top marks... Disclaimer, I am a racing cyclist as well as the old guy on an ebike... but the average Joe untrained might be able to sustain 150w for an hour, 400w combined is elite level cyclist. If that doesn't change day to day transport nothing will. Ebikes are a game changer. Should be 25mph with a licence and insurance. Accidents could definitely happen though just like they could with pushbikes. I'd be happy to have insurance though if we could then ride ebikes with fewer restrictions. E-bike laws are not “mental”. They are intended to keep E-bike capabilities close to those of bicycles. Bicycles, including E-bikes, can be ridden on the road without type approval for the vehicle or license and insurance for the rider. If you want to go faster buy a type approved vehicle, get a license to ride it and pay for insurance. Then you can have your safe handling, adequately braked fast E-bike and not be a liability to other road users and pedestrians.
