Horrible fit vs. trade offs, you lose size and got 2 small point guards who will dribble the ball and 3 guys standing around, plus any defender can switch between Brunson and Mitchell and not have a disadvantage

Cavs have a good talent base already IMO. They just need to adjust the roster by getting good value for Garland, who is a bit redundant with Mitchell. Pretty sure they see Garland as being held back right now playing with Mitchell, plus he is very young. I really like the idea of getting BI on their team.

Darius Garland for Keldon Johnson/Devin Vassell, another player and picks, win/win trade imo cuz Garland did show as a lead guard he’s elite and would fit well with Wemby but also can play off ball, for the Cavs this keeps Mitchell as the lead guard but also gives another good wing scorer and if they flip Allen for depth they can have a legit contender

Jared Allen and Darius Garland for Embiid is a win for both team.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think Cavs was better off without Mitchell because garland and Mobley suffered in growth imo

New CBA gotta do something about trades. 1 player and 2 picks for good player. 2 players, 2 picks and 1 swap for all-star. However many players for salary, 2 picks and 2 swaps for a champion. These ‘entire team, 5 picks and 6 swaps’ for a player who can’t get to the conference finals trades need to stop. No protections either. That pick is gone whether you tank or not.

I’m gonna say this I never liked the Don Mitchell trade from the very beginning. Why are you pairing too small guards who can’t play defense?

Mitchell to the nets is a high possibility he said that he wanted to play for his hometown team which means either the Knicks or the Nets will pursue him in the offseason if he rejects his option with the team next season

Kyrie to the Celtics for Isaiah Thomas, Crowder and draft picks, in the offseason then later on they sended back D Wade to Miami, re-routed Crowder with Derrick rose after both of them had bad season with the Cavs, Isaiah thomas for Clarkson, Nance Jr. and picks.

It would be a mistake if they think letting go of their center would be good. Look at the Timberwolves they have 3 that could require the Nuggets to acquire a backup to help Jokic.

Like does the idea of San Antonio trading for him not make sense like they have the assets and could be looking to shift towards contending after wembys rookie year. Also just because the mountain of picks can you exactly rule out the thunder trading for him.

Brooklyn makes no sense. There’s literally no reason to go there. The Cavs are a better team. He’s not making that team a contender.

Exactly sure he had issues with the team and the players but they were winning. Kinda like kawhi in 2019, his relationship with the team was poor but after winning things we fixed. I’m not saying the bucks would win but doc rivers certainly doesn’t help

Garland and Allen are both very good players. But the problem is the fit. The Cavs with Mitchell as point guard was 12-3. Mobley at center unleashes his offensive potential vs Boston.

Do not make reference to the regular season performance like that as it's not indicative of how he'd fair in playoffs. Mitchell is a defensive liability and combining him with Garland is even worse. Since both are ball dominant & lack size, it's better keep one and trade for 2 way players with high ball IQ if you're the Cavaliers.

Random thought, after the Nuggets lost game 7, I think they could swing for the fences for Donovan Mitchell….he’ll definitely resign in Denver due to their contending status. The Nuggets might do things like: Murray, Watson and 1st for Mitchell MPJ and Nnaji for Jalen Johnson and Clint Capela I can see Denver being hitting bidder this offseason instead of sitting with their current squad.

I cant imagine the nets giving that up for mitchell, but I can totally see the lakers pulling the trigger on a deal. Mitchell is exactly what lebron and ad need: a true go to scorer and shot-creator. Lebron is more suited for an all around do a little of everything robin role at his age, AD is best utilized as a high energy defensive minded off-ball cutter, spot up shooter with the occasional post-up as a third offensive option. Mitchell is the perfect go to on-ball creator next to them. But its not happening lol
