This dog is trained too well 😂❤️

Ойын-сауық

While this woman was pet sitting, the dog that she was taking care of refused to eat its dinner unless it heard a specific release word. We can hear the woman attempting various words such as "Yes," "Willow," "Okay," "Eat," and "Release," but the dog remained unfazed and patiently waited for the right word to be said.
As the woman struggled to find the right phrase, the dog became increasingly drooly and eager to eat. The woman ended up pointing at the food, which finally got the dog to start eating. A few days later, the owner of the dog shared this video explaining that the right word was actually said, but that it needed to be said in a high-pitched voice in order for it to be effective 😂

This myth is dumb. And you shouldn't use this dog as an example for proof. Dogs can distinquish sounds, just as well as humans can, if not better since their hearing is far superior to yours. It's like you as a, whereever you're from, suddenly get dumped into north korea. You won't understand what the sounds mean, but you will pick up on words you will remember. Like "hello", cuz people say it whenever they meet, and your brain being a pattern seeker by default, will recognize the word after a while. - If, you only ever hear "hello" said the exact same way, you'll develop a bias towards it, and any accent, excitement or anything else that makes a slight change to the pitch and how the word itself is pronounced, will make it a completely different word to your brain, and you won't understand it. It have nothing to do with the tone. But with your brain lacking the comprehension to learn a language instantly. And the same goes for dogs. Dogs don't have the nessessary mental capacity, to learn your language, but they do have the capabilities of distinquishing sounds. "Yes", "eat", bon appetit", go ahead". Lots of words she associated with being allowed to eat her food. - These are random examples tho, since I'm danish. But danish have a lot of words, that are identical to each other. Loads of different accents and slang, and just plain mumbojumbo. "Hversesågod" Could translate to "here you go" I suppose, which was what I usually said.. But, "hversgod", "hversegod" and the other thousand mumbo itterations I've come up with while having her wait for her food, was good enough. There was no confusion when the word was different, cuz she was used to me being fumbling idiot that can't communicate properly. The tone, only matters as much as it does to humans. If you yell at your dog, it gets sad, if you're overly excited and chipper, your dog gets the same. Cuz they feed on the energy you show.

@@AcolyteofRlyeh dogs don't speak English, that's not a myth. The only reason dogs "understand" is because they've been taught a combination of sounds means "do X". If you say "sit", the dog doesn't hear "sit" as a word, they hear the sounds "s", "i", and "t" in succession, which they know means they're supposed to put their bottom on the floor. In the same way, they associate other sounds with other things. Given the way the release command is correctly given, it's incredibly likely the dog isn't even hearing all of the individual sounds of the word, which is why saying it differently didn't register to the dog as the correct command.

This is not true. They definitely pay attention to tone, but they can also recognize words. Otherwise, commands wouldn’t work. My dog can understand commands given in different tones (and by different people). The issue here is that the way the owner says “okay” makes it sound too different from someone saying “okay” normally. That’s just an issue of clarity on the owner’s part. It doesn’t mean all dogs are incapable of understanding all words and only pay attention to tone. Like, they obviously don’t speak English. But that’s not what we’re expecting when giving commands.

Yeah, I used to always say "eat your breakfast" no matter what meal it was, but it was just out of habit not really a command. Some dogs are so intelligent and even our habits become commands to them.

It generally doesn't matter what word you say to a dog, but it matters how you say it. Say anything (high pitched and) confidently, in this situation, and the dog will obey. If your not confident, but indecisive, by repeating words, and the dog will get confused and insecure by your insecure presence.

It's not about the word, it's about confidence. Be confident and clear, and the dog will feel secure around you. Be insecure, by repeating a bunch of words, and dog will get confused and insecurity around.
