Today on the ladder I went to Planetary cheese just like in this video on a Zerg. After I built the ENG bay in his base I sent another SCV to my natural and saw....a proxy hatch in my natural - with two drones! It was awesome!! So I turned my main CC into the planetary and built marine tank FTW! Confirmed after the match the other player was another channel viewer. Cool to have them encounter in the wild!

16:48 I really liked this person; didn't rage quit and typed during and after the match.

About the ebay block: you could leave it on 99%, which might dissuade the enemy from bothering to attack it early (if they think its giving you no value and is going to be cancelled anyway). Then when you pf, rush an scv in to finish the ebay

Sheesh I want to see the replay of that first game to verify he didn't map hack. There's no indication on your minimap that he had any units in the area to scout the first CC

Overlords have 1 more vision range than Terran buildings and scvs tho so he probably saw it with the overlord

he saw the scv go away in a weird angle. i'm the absolute worst at spotting proxies, and even i would have sent the overlord that was already in position to check there. at 4k+ mmr, this definitely doesn't look like maphack.

Actually spawner an additional overall early in the game. So, he had two overlords, 1 went left side going down to uThermal's base and the other went straight down going left to Terran base.

@@RossRadikSherman Not really. The overlord could have scouted the first CC. And once you know your opponent is playing cheesing, it's logical to scout the rest of the map.

I love all these little tips and tutorials you include in your videos. I don’t even play SC2 anymore, but it’s still interesting to know how these strategies are preformed.

Would love to see you load up SCVs into the CC's when you fly them in. Would also like to see the mechanic used more when the PFs built. Popping out for some runby quick repairs or whatnot. Love this challenge, keep em coming!

Don't forget to build SCVs for repair at the forward PFs! Didn't need to transfer 3 from base in game 1.

The vs Zerg planetaries are mind-boggling, great job. I would LOVE to see a neosteel rush with 10 SCVs loaded. I have tried it many times, but with your multitasking it might be possible?????? Cheers

Beautiful! And, to add a wrinkle to the strat: When you've built the CC proxy, then start building a few SCVs from it, while you wait for your hellions and e-bay, and then when you lift the CC to the middle-forward position, to split the enemy's bases, then you *also* have those few extra SVCs *LOADED* in the CC, ready to pop and build a bunker/repair. Reapers hop in & out of the bunker, hellions get a few hp more survivability, and if you can *WALL* their natural with the PF and bunker, supply depot, then they can't ling-surround. Good luck to GM!

Super fun series! Definitely like embracing a theme of "planetary is an offense unit" for this challenge regardless of it being a rush or part of a late game push.

I used to love planetary rushing years ago, I barely ever won with it but it was fun. Used to love adding bunkers turrets and tanks to it too for like a small forward base

This challenge is beautiful. I love the creativity of making silly or sub optimal work, especially with such a flare. I'd like to suggest PF rush followed up by proxy starport landed vikings or medivac elevator for tanks when you manage to land it in the main. Another idea would be to kick it off with your infamous bunker rush from mass marine to gm challenge, to keep opponent off balance long enough to make it work. I'd appreciate if you'd at least let me know what you think or seeing my backseat gaming ideas come into life. Always love your content Marc!

Do you remember when you could "last second change race" as the game was starting? So many players in SC1 would change their race last second and fool their opponent... It was a twist on random for sure!

I absolutely love whacky builds and this challenge series is one of my favourites for sure, I would really love another rendition of Ghosts to GM, maybe an alternate ghost challenge? I definitely won some TvZs with a whacky proxy Ghost into BC build

Suggestions: For Zerg: put an ebay on 99% the natural and one of the expansions. Place the BF in between the expand that he takes and his main. For Terran: start with a BF but transition into skyterran on the back. Against protoss: make the range upgrade and see how to contain with turrets to no more than 2 nex

In the third game, would it have been worth it to go for fast building armor? Or Hi-Sec for the extra damage?

Harstem does the GG count. it's fun to see, and fits the salt. the sewer-mermaid also did allot of planetary rushes, maybe you can get some ideas from him.

Really enjoying the series because of your live reads of the game. Maybe you could use the ability of the flying CC to carry SCVs for a quick repair during the PF morph :)

When starcraft was in beta, the AI would CONSTANTLY do a planetary rush each and every time. I won once simply by blocking it from landing.

What about canceling the engineering bay and using the space it creates to cut his base in half with a planetary? I am but a pleb but it seems somewhat strong to me

Is there a reason you don't load the SCV into the CC when you fly it into the base? They can help repair while it morphs into planetary

A planetary is just a Viking with the anti-air missile system traded off for 19000 tons of armour and much bigger guns...

The one thing you could do when ebay blocking the opponent is to not finish it, pull SCV away and if he doesn't attack it for some reason then finish it with the timing. Otherwise cancel and build another one.

For zerg just do everyone's favourite challenge that everyone likes, the Brenda flood,spamming queens.

Do a macro of rush plz where you take 4-5 bases and turn them all into PFs

New challenge idea: You play random and have to tell your opponent your race AND your strategy in the opening seconds. If you you change your plan, you can - but you have to announce it to the opponent. Challenge/account name: Full Disclosure

Love the series! I’m new to the channel but if you haven’t tried this… Viking rush with Medivac/scv support. You put the scvs on auto repair in the medivac and when you need to repair a Viking, land it and put it in the medivac. The scvs will repair it. This would possibly wreck Protoss. Lol

I saw a coment saying you can enter some CVs in the CC,/PF is it true ? Storing like 2 before you flight the CC could help you to maintain it alive once he arrives, I guess you could also micro the CVs in&out to dodge some shots. I'm no SC2 player, just wondering if it's possible or not.

Is it possible to utilize ghosts with the planetary to trap the opponent in their base like you do and then use the ghost to nuke them while they can't escape basically if they try to charge the planetary to escape they die to whatever army you create alongside it and the nuke punishes them for trying to hold and build up their army to destroy the planetary

When you lift the command center to fly it into their base, is it possible to load a few SCV's into it? Or is that only a feature of Orbitals...? I forget... but a few SCV's repairing while the PF gets built could be huge, even if they get targetted down it should buy some critical time.

Yes, it's possible to load SCVs into flying CC.

Maybe you could you load the SCV you use to make the CC in the CC to repair the CC when it lands in the enemy base

This is going to be a slog. The planetary seems to take a lunar new year to complete. A few SCVs have to come along for the ride. It's a dream Uwu! It's a dream!

I wanna see a squad of 4-8 scvs brought to repair the planetary so it always goes up and then I wanna see you nuke from the planetary and wrap their base in a turret ring so they can't escape

Make an account called LiquidSaltBaneling and make a "baneling flood to GM" series :D ... The main rules would be that you'll launch baneling floods of at least 100 banelings, trying to end it in one attack. Maybe even something similar but with mass baneling drops xD
