This Company Is Keeping Electric Cars Running

Ғылым және технология

An electric vehicle is no good if you can't charge it. For ChargerHelp! co-founders Kameale Terry and Evette Ellis, the problem of broken EV charging stations presents a new business opportunity. Contracting with utilities and business, ChargerHelp! trains and deploys technicians to quickly diagnose and repair problems with charging stations. Terry and Ellis spoke to Motherboard about why broken charging stations so often stay broken, and how to build a well-paid team to fix them.

    A matinaince company for industry that barely has any. EVSE maintenance is typically just the responsibility of the charger owner and typically done in house. That's not possible for organization who just own a small amount of chargers on the side of their operations. You are ignoring the fact very few of such companies exist.

Hopefully you didn't buy the Tesla that bursts into flames, or the Volt that bursts into flames, or the Ford that has about 58 mile range on full charge. Or the EV Hummer that puts off more pollution emissions than a semi truck in high idle running full speed for 750 miles. Because that's not indoctrination sweetheart. It's facts

    No, coal provides less than a third of the power in the US, and that number is dropping. But even on coal-generated electricity, EVs are better than ICE vehicles. And let's not forget that every time a dirty power plant goes offline, every time more solar or wave or whatever energy is added to the grid, every EV instantly gets cleaner.

  • @thekentuckyrifleman

    @thekentuckyrifleman

    @@bmay8818 really? Is that why Generac and several solar energy companies are being sued for damages such as panel degradation after a year, groundwater poisoning from the run off from the toxic chemicals used during manufacturing, panels melting from heat, batteries malfunction leading to house fires is a big one, and let's talk about wind. We've lost unimaginable numbers of birds and wildlife because of wind farms. Fun fact is you can't recycle any part of a wind turbine and it clogs landfills across America. And let's get to the cars. They create more heat and emissions than a coal rolling diesel because of weight and tire particulate. Think about it, if LA had all EV's it would be more polluted by EV's from emissions than any gas powered car manufactured at any point in history. You're welcome for the free education, I hope you learned something

    How many things have you seen lately that take the monthly service plan model? Probably a lot. Photoshop is now a subscription! EVSEs do need service sometimes, there are only going to be more of them, and nobody is forcing anyone to go with this company. It's smart of these women to get in on the ground floor of this nascent industry. Or is your comment just thinly-veiled racism?

    Begging for government money... Ever heard about huge companies like Amazon getting huge tax cuts to establish in a state or country, while still being one of the most profitable companies out there? Treating their employees like shit and forcing small local businesses to close. There you got a waste of government money to care about. This is a great initiative. Taking care of and repairing products already in use, instead of building up the landfills, is something we desperately need to get better at. And they definitely seems to value their employees and have good core values. Would like to work for them if i lived in the states. Wish them all the best!

    the only reason elon musk's companies are still afloat is because of him begging for government money. Racism should unironically be classified as a mental illness for how unbelievably stupid it makes some people. holy.
