That “build the chord yourself” tip at the beginning hit me. I did NOT know you could do that. This will change the way I use scaler going forward. Just wanted to let you know that. Now, to watch the rest of the video. :)
I’ve been using scaler 2 for about 5 months now and I’ve never composed a chord from scratch this way. Thanks for this tip. The visual feedback will indeed be helpful
A picked up Scaler soon after it was first released. It's a terrific plug-in especially for someone like me who had no grounding in theory. It quickly gave me confidence to go beyond traditional major and minor scales and to experiment in more unusual modes. It's a very powerful piece of software.
This is so sweet dude. Thanks for sharing this!! 🤙🏽✨
Glad to see youre still posting. Also glad this isn't a $200 plugin like all the others
Brother reinvented voice leading, pretty rad!
Great vide mate. Learnt a lot!
People like you, make the whole - wide - world a much beautiful place that's worth living... Thank God, for you and those who are like, and especially KZread for being... 🙏
Wow Tom! I seriously thought you were a classically trained musician when I listened to your progressions on your videos. I am not one either and it gives me tremendous confidence to confirm that our ears, helped by these tools, are in the end what we really must rely on to make good music. Thanks for the great tip! I’ve enjoyed using your patches too

Appreciate it! That was definitely the point of this video if any. I think it ultimately comes down to taste and confidence in what you want to create!
waw thanks i didn't know that program even existred ! Will def buy it with your code !
🧡🔥 love your videos bro
Thank you!
Thanks for this, Tom: really helpful. I don't have Scaler but do have Cthulhu. Because it already has a load of chords it hadn't really occurred to me to start from scratch in this way, but I'll definitely be giving your method a try from now on; it's not quite as quick as in Scaler, but it definitely does The Business.
This is amazing! I also don't play any instruments. So honesty this video was a real door opener for me! Thank you
Scaler is such a powerful tool for non musicians, I write electronic music and never played an instrument beyond the recorder at junior school and very basic keyboard at senior school, so for me this plugin were a no brainer and even today I'm learning new ways to use it.

Try Scaler 2 For Yourself: bit.ly/GetScaler2 Which chord progression did you like best? :)
Thanks for this video, it’s a real game changer when it comes to crafting chord progressions. Just curious, what is your process for capturing these progressions from scaler into your DAW?

Hooktheory, great site!
I don’t get it.. you’re pick all the notes anyway, without using the suggestions.. it seems the only benefit is knowing the name of the chord?
*Am i tripping or this video had a different title yesterday?*
can i set a challenge please?.... this is it... find Ejay... and make a decent piece of music from it....without using any other software.. its very rewarding making something good from a "toy"

Nice tutorial, but musicians really should learn music theory. There’s no way around it.
