What impressed me the most was the safety system. This crazy car can keep driving in a straight line even if a tire blows out at a speed of 120km/h, and it can also float on the water and drive like a boat.

To be honest, Mercedes specifically have gone bat sh*t with the ambient lighting for years now. Maybe more people like it than not but I personally find it tasteless and making the interior look even cheaper and I'm largely operated from a sense of style so I imagine someone who understands design would be having an existential crisis every time they ride a taxi in Germany 😅

They will do a full electric version, as soon as batteries are large enough and effective enough to deliver as much power as requested by these 4 very powerful motors... Everyone expected China to be where they are today. To expect less is ridiculous. All the production lines were set up by foreigners, and China joint venture laws forced foreign companies to share technology and train the Chinese. Also, Tesla let them use his patents. If you look at all the NEW ENERGY car companies that are now all over China. They all started AFTER Tesla came into China! China has made innovations in EVs like adding bigger fridge, bigger screens, cheaper cars, road side fires, frequent crashes, locked doors to burn people. Truly innovative!

All I can say is: wow! 😮

All manufacturers are learning the hard way asking Chinese companies to do your components they have taken them over the years and mastered them to another level. Amazing

For a big, luxury car, you can't expect more, except it's Chinese with a BYD badge on it. BMWs would charge twice the price for less fuctions. New competitors are good for us anyway.

Great review! Very professional and well presented, you can tell Peter did a lot of prep work before filming. Car seems amazing too. BYD sells millions of cars, this U8 being their flagship model must have all their best components and build quality. Definitely worth checking out if someone wants a large do it all luxury SUV.

Good job man! #1 9:14 the car is saying “需打开麦克风使用权限，才可使用语音”, which means “you need to grand the mic permission to use the voice control feature/function”. I assume you can make changes in the settings. #2 11:07 the button is called “云辇”, which means “emperor’s carriage in the clouds”. It’s a system to control car’s suspension.

As someone who used to buy primarily Cadillac, I gotta say good job China! the features and interior are wonderful and functional. This is what American car manufacturers need to strive for!

@@roro4787 This is only an emergency function. The BYD manufacturer requires that a sealing test be performed after each wading and floating. You don’t want to be so troublesome, but at critical moments, it can save lives.

They hired german and foreign designers so whatever they copied, came from designers that desgined the land rover and rolls... and porsche (XiaoMeng). They paid big money for porsche designers so it came out to be the same just EV.

I am so glad that this is a hybrid car. I do not support having an all EV car.

This car is bloody lovely

I wish you can test more of its driving feature like independent suspension to go through uneven grounds and keep the car level, drive it across a lake. Remove one tire and drive on 3 wheels. Stuff like that, which you have done it.

It's on Mercedes and BMW level of materials and design, Napa leather, Real Wood, Stainless Steel, key fab, revolutionary interior and exterior designs. With the 1,200 e-hp! this thing is amazing

I am not a BYD fan, but this time it has proved me itself.

Vehicle looks promising, functional with right amount of innovations. Waiting to see how it performs on road, off road and how smooth the software side is.

Love the U8's luxury interior. Chinese EVs normally come with more detailed and quality interior but maintain the price affordability.

Trudeau won’t allow Chinese car in Canada for the national security shit😅

It's mind blowing how they litterally learned from others and fixed everything possible and it's actually palpable. Like the claver mix of high tech and traditional analog features in a luxury car, commercially you would actually feel safe to buy it. And the look of it from the driver seat feels functional enough
