I miss my old square body! It was a straight six with a rusted out bed when I got it. Ended up with a 40 overbore 350 4 bolt main with 2.02 heads and 3/4 race cam & rollers! A 4 speed out of a 66 GTO to make use of the HP! Hurst floor shift too! Still have the tranny, shifter bellhousing and clutch assembly somewhere in my shop. I rebuilt the bed on my lunch breaks at work by mounting the bed on the truck frame upside down. My coworkers used to laugh at me. I flipped the licenses plate upside down so it was now right-side up in the back, and swapped the wiring so turnsignals and taillights worked the right direction. It took me 6 months to get the beds floor rebuilt 30 minutes a day!

I have an old 84 3/4 ton that I bought with a snowplow for $3 grand 10 years ago. The engine runs great but I had to replace the front inner axle from abuse. I guess I need to check the universal joints more often. I’ve had 2 Blazers and 5 pickups from that era. They are easy to work on. I even bought the Helms manuals and did the automatic rebuilds.
