    I've been waiting on BTOD's coverage of this chair. So, it seems like a chair still largely "in flux"; it's not finalized. I see little incentive to order it for the foreseeable future. Please do cover it once it's in a more finalized and complete state.

    Yikes ~$2400 for their all black basic version, because customizing the back panels or changing to white costs a ridiculous ~$160 each, with synthetic leather instead of cloth, so you don't overheat, as recommended in the video. Way more expensive than a Herman Miller Embody or Steelcase Leap. I guess if it really truly is that much better than its competition in terms of comfort it's worth it for those with neck & back issues but Im highly skeptical.

    Hard to disagree with your points, especially across a wider group of people. I'm not sure this chair is ready for mainstream or if it ever will be. We will find that out over a longer time period. Anything with a $2,400 price tag will limit the scope of people who can/will even consider it. If you have chronic back issues, I can see this being a really solid option now, since you've likely invested way more than the cost of this chair to solve back pain already. If it doesn't solve the issue, they can always return it. If you constantly bottom out on chairs, with your sit bones pushing through to seat shell/frame, this is also another option, with their domed seat pad/shell design. The back two thirds of the seat are very comfortable for me, but the front third is a work in progress. If you're just looking for a nice ergonomic chair, I'd probably wait for the update we give on the new seat pad and arm changes. This in my opinion will have the potential to push it closer to those top tier chairs for a wider audience. -Greg

    I have been eyeing this chair for some time now and waiting for an honest review. Based on this review I will be waiting for the improvements you have suggested. I also shared the same sentiments as another commenter that they are a start-up pricing themselves to compete with established companies with a product that needs to be refined and they have not earned a reputation yet to justify the price. Seems like it will be a great chair once they get the kinks worked out and I look forward to another review once revisions are made. I would also like to see how it works for different heights, and if price point is justifiable compared to other chairs. From all the research I have done, this would compete well in the $800-$900 Range but the $1800-$2500 just seems like there are better and more established companies to choose from.

  • @EzFightGG

    @EzFightGG

    There's no way this chair should go down to the 800-900$ range. Tooling, molding and just the amount of weight and material. That plus the overall quality would land it at $1,500 at the very LEAST along with Herman Miller and Haworth options as a boutique type of option.

  • @sixteenlevel

    @@EzFightGGI had the chance to sit in one and was disappointed. It’s definitely not as refined as a Herman Miller or Steelcase, and there claims to fit up to 6’8” just isn’t true. @@Lockke_frankly a lot of chair brands talk a big game about how "sustainable" they are but make user repairs unfeasible, expensive, or outright impossible. Claiming a warranty that isn't yours from a company that, will not notice the difference in order to keep a product out of landfill and someone with less money sitting healthy is a good thing in my opinion. So until brands like steelcase or Herman miller put their money where their mouths are, I wouldn't feel bad about a warranty claim.

The company is trying to get out of honoring the warranty using ownership as a technicality, he's telling you to not tell them you are not the original owner so you can get the warranty that should still be in effect and was paid for because it's built into the cost of the chair. I tried this chair the other day and I honestly felt this was the least comfortable chair I have ever been in and that is not hyperbole. Where did you get the opportunity to test? Could help others who want to do the same, since it's a big ticket item. I can understand that for sure, especially based on my own experience. The four star base and original upper back felt like it locked you in too much. More similar to an Aeron, then say a Leap or Embody. Now it is a bit of hybrid, with the upper back moving/pivoting some and the seat still keeping you locked in. The next iteration with a waterfall front edge for the seat pan and the arm pad improvement should help even more. As far as build quality, it is equal to any of the top of the line options from Herman Miller and Steelcase IMO. We've seen a ton of chairs and it is at the top of list from a build standpoint. -Greg

    @@btodtv The "Relax the Back" stores in Las Vegas and SoCal have them. Slight disclaimer in that my proportions make finding a comfortable chair difficult. I am 5'9" but with a 27" inseam. So I need a chair that is lower to the ground and has a shorter seat depth. But because of my tiny legs, my torso is long so I sit around 6'1 to 6"2 (average inseam for 5'9" is 30") so I have issues then with the back and need a taller back. This could easily explain the difficulty. However, most chairs just "don't fit" where the Anthros was actively painful. For almost all of my life I have just sat at the edge of a chair with feet planted which is ergonomic.

    @p6202 That is unfortunate that you didn't have a great experience being "fit" for the chair. Although we don't pretend to be the chair for every person, in every instance, I would guess that the chair was not properly set up for you. If the chair was painful, that is a major red flag that it was setup in a manner than was too aggressive. We offer free posture consultations with licensed therapists that will gladly meet with you (or any other customer) who might have needed some tweaking. As much as we attempt to train our retail partners, sometimes the decades of seating expertise doesn't flow through the the local sales rep.
