Very useful! As someone who is currently suffering from a ruptured lumbar disc, I'm now super-focused on what chair I need when I've recovered and your channel has been a godsend. THANKS!

Finding the right seat pad was the biggest challenge for me. The Amia was just too thin for me, even with some added foam, but the Fern is pretty good. Thumbs up!

Great video guys! Any idea where I can get that desk pad?
The most frustrating part of all of this, is that it's virtually impossible to find a "perfect" chair because even the best chairs aren't right for everyone and actually trying chairs out isn't strait forward. In some areas, you might have show rooms for many brands that you can visit and compare. But in other areas... you basically have to rely on videos to guess what you want, then order it and hope it's good or that the return policy is forgiving. I used the Steelcase Gesture for over a year, and eventually got tired of trying to "get used to it" and bought the Herman Miller Embody. It's only been about two weeks, and I think I'm happy with this swap, but maaaan does the Embody also have its issues. I think my biggest problem with the Gesture was seat size, and foam thickness - too much weight concentrated into a smaller space because the seat was too small, and the foam was too thin to prevent bottoming out. The Embody doesn't have that problem, but the arm rests are kind of a joke and there's one spot right in the middle of the lumbar area that's HARD that you need to be conscious about when adjusting your position. If I could make a perfect chair, I would take the seat and synchro tilt mechanism of the Embody with the back and arms of the Gesture. I would keep the Atlas headrest (aftermarket for the Embody). I would swap the base out for one of the larger ones you find on gaming chairs for a little more stability, and I would use Office Oasis skate style wheels. I would also prefer the MUCH easier to use adjustment controls from the Gesture.

This is my current struggle. I've been wanting to invest in a good office chair for a while now, but there are a ton of options and it's tough to spend several hundred to 1,500 dollars on a chair when I don't ultimately know if I'll like it. Luckily, I live near a Herman Miller store and was able to try some chairs there, but trying a chair for a few minutes doesn't necessarily tell me it's a good enough chair for me to spend well over $1,000 on.

Personally the ideal chair would be the Embody Gaming w/ Atlas headrest, the arm rests of the Recaro Exo Platinum and the looks of the Thermaltake Argent.
Would love to see a review from this channel on the newest release from Hinomi called the X1. There’s so little unbiased content on this model I guess it’s so new. I see it possibly being a top tier in the 6-700 price range…
Buying the emobdy is one of the best decisions i ever made. (Logitech gaming one looks cool as well, lol).

Have you compared it to any other S tier or $700 plus chairs?
Any suggestions for what to look for in a chair to reduce tailbone (coccyx) pain? I've been using the Ikea Jarvfjallet which, for the price, was great for a while, but the seat padding has compressed over time, and leaning back in it tends to put more pressure on my tailbone. Perhaps because the seat pan doesn't tilt when reclining?
Whats the footrest used in the video?
What about Respawn Spire, is it good or what
I really dislike arm rests. I feel much more comfortable by pushing all the way into my desk..and get a deeper desk to account for my arms. I write a lot and use my computer also so its not comfortable if I sit away from the desk.

Same here I actually use a old staples hyken and I ended up unscrewing and throwing the arm rests away once they wore down and started cracking.
Hi @BTODtv , what would you recommend for me (183cm 6ft) (143kg 315 pounds) with a headrest? Job (Developer) and nighttime gamer. Thank you for all your videos btw :)

Yiu are in the tall range so you have to pick lg embody or haworth fern unless you're willing to settle for short people chairs which might give some upper back fatigue

Is it worth buying a Embody second hand or should I just go for the brand new one instead?

Second hand loses the 12 year warranty. Whether that’s worth paying still more than half is up to you.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Office ergonomics aren't for fat people. Most of these steps would end up causing me extended pain.

It might be harder to break the bad habits of poor posture, but whether you are skinny or on the heavy side, good ergonomics is good for you. It just might hurt a bit as you change your posture in a good way -Greg
