Therefore it isn’t a “reasonable and appropriate” expense, at least in my eyes. You can put it on his tax return. Just if he gets audited it would be “no bueno”. Just don’t think the IRS will be like “yeah that’s fine” to that sort of expense.

I woke up around the age 16 and started to deprogram myself from hip hop culture. Anyone can try and deduct whatever they want on their taxes. The issue comes when the IRS asks about the expenses and their justification if its flagged for review. Then when they realize you tried to capitalize a 220k piece of jewelry for your real estate business they're going to start asking questions about all of your other expenses. Designer or fashion industry you could justify it easier but real estate is a long stretch and at 220k its beyond reasonable. There is no LLC trick like everyone on Tik-Tok wants you to believe, its just tax fraud where you are banking on the bet you won't be flagged for audit. Source : I'm a CPA lol.

To be fair.. that was a Amex platinum which is a charge card & he probably has a lot of spending power from purchasing high ticket items like this. Now did he really buy this chain or was it just for video marketing purposes.. who knows. Doesn’t even matter!
