This is me! I binged all the time, feel guilty, eat well and then reward myself by binge eating. I am not fully carnivore yet, but very low carbs with high amounts of eggs and beef along with daily electrolytes and I am starting to feel much better.

I do about 85% carn...very little sugar aside from honey and berry fruit & yogurt in the morning. ..the odd peanut butter cup...angus meat, burger & dogs, bacon, eggs (& I'm losing interest in eggs) salmon, lamb, peanutbutter, little gluten except for sandwiches now and then, no pizza, taters, rice, veggies, (never liked veggies mostly) avos, so it's pretty easy. My weight is normal same size as high school 32w, walk 2 miles every morning, do the gym 3 days a week...I'm 73. No brain fog...sleep great, calmer, stress fell like deflating a ballon, vision improved, and the arthritis is down 90%. So I'm just going along without any concern and that's me.... PS...Im not on any meds. No blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes kidney prostate issues of any kind. I take nitrous oxide to keep my blood elastic for a minor heart valve issue which I'm told is common at my age....but it beats strong and regular when I'm pumping weights at the gym. So I'll just go along my merry wat til I fall over dead or don't get up some morning, which is fine with me, ya know? Weird world.

I am starting my carnivore journey today. I was vegan for almost 5 years and it ruined my health, both mentally and physically. It’s been a little over a year since I stopped my vegan journey… my health is so much better. Almost all my issues are gone. Mentally I am 95% better and physically I am about 85% better. I have such an issue with sugar and carbs. My diet is mainly animal based not necessarily by choice, most plant based foods mess my system up. But now I’m making it a choice. I just had a mental breakdown because of a part of a cookie I just ate, because I have an addiction. For me I can’t just have sweets in moderation, I’ve tried and it doesn’t work for me. I will easily inhale cookie after cookie. Then I’ll want everything with sugar. Which then results in severe headaches, digestive issues and mood swings… I’ve had a horrible relationship with food and my body since I was a very young girl. Always had weight issues and developed an eating disorder around 14… I still struggle with it from time to time. Eating an animal based diet has helped me with that so much.

I am just the same. Vegan wrecked my life! 6 years, even being high raw vegan. Get off all grains ! Grains are sugar just as well for the body. It does not care where it’s oats, rice or whatever. I still have cabbage and low carb veggies and go high fat low protein. That’s what works really well for me

Yes. Pardon the pun, but a weight was lifted from my shoulders about 3 months into going carnivore, by no longer treating it as a diet, but a way of life. A healthy level of weight loss and definition just became nice side effects, but I now somewhat regret those previous years of stressful diets and guilt. I look back and think of what total fixation I had about weight and the amount of time it took out of my life. Thankfully I found this at 38, and I am now 40 and loving my new lifestyle. Do I wish I'd known at 20 what I know now? Heck yes, I may have held onto a bit of hair lol. However, better late than never, and as Dr Chaffee says, "It's never too late to stop putting poison in your body."

The Carnivore life (I'm hesitant to call it a diet because i hate diets and they don't work) has been amazing for me. I have an autoimmune disorder that I've never been able to keep in check but is in full remission since beginning this lifestyle about 2 months ago. I haven't even increased my level of exercise yet and I'm already down almost 30lbs. My sleep quality has improved, I don't need as much food, my energy is through the roof, I have no joint pain anymore, my mood has improved, I don't get hungry, I don't have cravings and oddly enough, my sense of smell has actually gotten better.

The first definition in the dictionary is that 'diet' is anything that you habitually eat. What we eat is our diet. The second definition is some sort of temporary restriction. It's another of those words that has an undeserving negative connotation. Just use whatever term you feel positive about! 😊

Her testimony resonated with me as I’ve had a food disorder since early childhood. When I was 5 years old I would wait for my mom to get into the shower and I would go sneak Pringles out of the pantry. But just enough so that she wouldn’t notice any are missing. I also used to take extra hard candies from the candy bowl at church and hide them in my shoes until I got home. I’m starting Carnivore this Saturday 7/1/23 and pray I can finally be delivered.

If you're only eating 900 calories, your metabolism slows down over time so you can survive on 900 calories. If you then eat more calories than your metabolism is used to, you start to put on weight until your metabolism catches up. This is why the TDEE calorie calculators can be off by HUNDREDS of calories. The only way to KNOW your "calories out" is to track your weekly "calories in" and see what the scale is doing. Learn about "reverse dieting" and you can mitigate that rapid weight gain after a period of caloric restriction.

Sadly I had to give up strict carnivore, it just became financially impossible to continue (a kilo of rice costs 2.50 and lasts 4 days, a kilo of ground beef 12 Euro and lasts 2 days). It's HARD to not overeat when half your food is rice and vegetables, you just don't feel full on those things. It's almost like they go through the stomach as fast as you can shove them in... I try to eat meat only every other day, and the other day 50-50 meat and rice/vegetables. The main thing it helped me with is isolating all my food allergies, by cutting out everything and reintroducing stuff one at a time it's easy to find out what makes you sick...

I was never diagnosed with COVID, but guessing I’ve had it a couple times. I started looking into Carnivore by default when I didn’t want to eat salads anymore, they just didn’t sound good to me at all. I was curious if people can get by with eating hardly any veggies or fruits. Looks like I’m going to live!

Dry fasting is helping me to become more into carnivore and stopping the sweet cravings and overeating. I stopped water fasting bcuz its nowhere as effective as dry fasting at healing my body and reforming me mentally and emotionally. The changes in my feeling system I’m really blown out the water by. I even did a short about it. I was 90% carnivore for the past year, still craving and eating fruit a few times a month, and eating, not bcuz I’m actually hungry, but bcuz of anxiety. Eating to feel occupied. And now, since I started IF fasting dry a month ago, I’m down 20lbs and about 95% carnivore and seemingly on my way to 100%. That now, I can eat one medium size steak and a few eggs at some other time during the day, and feel normal, almost no anxiety, and eat nothing more until the next day. Dry fasting is a dynamic tool to aid the carnivore diet and transforming it into a lifestyle.

We are the same age! I will be 50 in April and I am on day 21 of carnivore. I came from a very poor background and grew up on the things mentioned, top ramen, mac and cheese. RIP mama Joy. You did your best. No shade. Anyway I started developing a little bit of a weight problem at about age 12 and my mom discouraged me from eating because she didn't want me to be constantly 30-lb overweight like her. You won't believe this but for the most part I've done omad since I was 14. My thyroid developed nodules when I was about 30 and that's probably due to not enough calories. Anyway I haven't lost any weight yet and I've been very strict. It's difficult because I'm eating all I can, chunk of butter in my decaf. After I lift weights I have eight big shrimp cooked in butter and cream. 8 oz of ribeye for dinner. This is an example of yesterday. Maybe some more butter in my herbal tea at night. I just can't physically eat more. I'm 5'8" and 173 lb. I've been fighting the same 20lb for 30 years. I do look younger than my age and I attribute that to all the fasting and autophagy but it's time to nourish and heal now. I do notice my face is much less puffy so that's something. I don't find a diet has been that hard to stick to, but it is the first time in my life I've actually eaten when I'm hungry as opposed to grinding through it until dinner.

I still have some of that nasty smells and tastes… but most is better. It will be a year next week. Thankfully I love the taste of beef! Still can’t seem to do fish or chicken. 3 months doing mostly carnivore.

Funny enough I swear the septum piercing did help. Then I did carnivore for 6 weeks last summer and it definitely helped a bit. Now I can do coffee too. Peanut butter, banana, garlic, and chocolate we’re definitely no’s for the past year. Fruit is mostly back to normal but I don’t eat it really so idk about banana and obviously I’m not going to eat chocolate or peanut butter. I may incorporate garlic again when I can.

Now I don't have any way to avoid the smell bc I don't know which ingredient(s) have changed for me, but at least it is easier to accept psychologically, now that I understand. This video certainly does have value for everyone. Personally speaking - meat healed my acid reflux, my carb addiction, obesity, insulin resistance , changes in vision, low blood sugar, gallbladder, pancreatitis and kidney problems. As a result I'm able to find the time to conduct research regarding a hypothesis I have regarding one possible fundamental reason as to why many members of both the Greatest Generation and the Baby Boomer cohort were both so late at beginning a KETO journey In one word: Popeye. Beginning in 1929, the creators and publishers of the comic strip and the cartoons began a campaign of what perhaps can be referred to as pro-vegan "Popeye-ganda." part of the popular culture zeitgeist for decades. Popeye of course claimed he was "strong to the finich 'cause I eats me Spinach." As a result, countless parents encouraged their children for decades to "eat your vegetables so you'll be strong like Popeye." Remember also that it was common for kids to watch Popeye cartoons between arriving home from school and sitting down to dinner. Talk about timing. To counterbalance things somewhat, of course, the character Wimpy was something of a carnivore with his preference for hamburgers he couldn't pay for.

WHEN PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW MUCH IT COSTS...Tell them this "Eat your food as medicine, So you don't have to eat your medicine as Food!" 1. You eat less because you become fuller, faster. 2. It stops the snacking on junk foods. 3. You eat less often which stops your insulin from spiking, as it does everytime you eat anything, or put anything in your mouth. So, you basically save money in the shorter, longer run on things... The good for your foods has gone up dramatically with biden inflation, especially my beloved butter...but Im eating more butter everyday and Im not as hungry for longer stretches of time. Steak and butter gal helped explain that and boy does it work. I never thought I would enjoy sucking on a stick of butter driving around for work...and the looks when other drivers at a light sees me with a stick of butter in my mouth...then the smile they see on my face makes them laugh!

I appreciate hearing Serena’s story, and I can relate to a lot of it. I’m actually on day 3 of carnivore after being vegan for 7 years. When she mentioned that she gained weight in the beginning, I find it hard to believe that the cause wasn’t excess calories. A calorie surplus regardless of the source will cause weight gain and vice versa, a calorie deficit regardless of the source will cause weight loss. Shawn Baker also mentions this as being rooted in science. A professor at Kansas State University proved this in what he dubbed the “Twinkie diet” where he placed himself in an 800 calorie deficit eating nothing but processed sugary foods for 10 weeks. In his experiment, he lost 27 lbs. I suspect dairy might have been the cause of Serena’s weight gain. If you’re doing carnivore, limit dairy intake because it is very calorically dense and it is not as satiating as meat. It’s very easy to go over your calories on a carnivore diet if you eat too much dairy.

I don't understand how eating too little calories causes weight gain. Concentration camp prisoners who were starved were skeletal. Anorexics (true anorexics...not chubby folks who cycle w/ binging) are skeletal. I would have to have a camera on someone 24/7, & observe them, before I'd believe they are gaining weight on calorie restriction, because, like I said, any accounts of someone being locked in a cage, & withheld food, always leads to a skeletal person.
