I just sold it and will replace it with the DJI Action 4 as I just didn't need all the excellence the a7IV offers. And I already have a DJI Wireless Mic system that will plug right into the Action 4. Now I need to review all your Osmo Action 4 vids for Vlogging and custom settings. Also just used your link for the Toazoe for my Rode Video Mic GO II, thank you for that tip! However, I already replaced the giant red rubbery mount with your suggested SmallRig mount for my a7IV so now I'll need to figure that out. 😂😂 And a life in the camera world spirals onward, and it's fun. I went through a bit of a journey with my audio solution for the DJI Action 4 when backpacking. I tried the Sennheiser MKE200 on the DJI Action 4 with the Smallrig cage. The mic doesn't show up in the frame since it's so small. I didn't like the extra weight of the cage and it had issues clamping on to the quick mount. So I returned it. Then I picked up an Ulanzi MT-16 tripod since it has a cold shoe on it. It works really nice since the mic is facing your mouth when vlogging. It should allow bigger mics to be out of frame. Now I just use a smaller Ulanzi MT-09 tripod and mostly use the built in mic. If it's windy or I'm away from the camera I'll use the Fulaim X5. The Sennheiser MKE200 is a great mic but now I use it at home or with my phone.

Hey Wayne, grateful as ever! I am sorry I couldn't use the affiliate link as in the UK it will take 10 days to deliver, but ordered the SmallRig instead. I old my Rode VNTG 3 days ago as I've noticed that 90% of the time I reach for the VideoMic GOII when needing a shotgun for the action cams. The VideoMic is much smaller but when there is a windmuff on it it still sticks out even in HB mode on the OA4, so this mount is a necessity!:) Once again, thank you!

Great tip Wayne. I was looking for something like this. I have had the deadcat in the view but found a different solution. But still not perfect specifically for the angle as per your example. Will add this one and it will be near perfect. Thx. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

I have been using my Osmo Action 1 with the Sennheiser MKE 200. I have found the quality of audio is wonderful out of that set up. Especially since its such a small package

Why not comica vm 10 pro in which you recommended prior to this? Is the sound very different? Esp for action cams.

I use the videomic ii with my action 4. Maybe it’s not as directional as the NTG so I don’t need that mount ?

What levels do you use on the mic and camera
