Heather and Curtis are an artistic couple who built and moved into a van to save money and prioritize their creative pursuits. Without much money to start, they bought a rusty old Sprinter van for $10,000 CAD and converted it into a cozy home on wheels using parts from old RVs, secondhand and reclaimed materials, and items bought at the dollar store and Ikea.
We were surprised at how cozy and functional their space was when we first stepped inside and almost couldn't believe all of the things they fit in the camper. The kitchen counters are massive, they have an oven and a bar fridge, there's a big couch with a Lagun rotating table for work and entertainment, a litter box for their cat, and a toilet for themselves, and loads of storage for food and clothing.
They had us laughing the entire time we hung out with them and we hope you have fun getting to know this amazing couple, and that you enjoy the tour of this really unique homemade campervan.

They are the coolest couple. Love their personalities and vibe. It’s been the realest van life build I’ve ever seen. All the others are like rich people wanting to do something trendy and building these expensive ass homes on wheels. This is the kind of van life I would want.
...love the whole “can-do” spirit of this build...shows it can work if you’re creative...also yay to the guard cat keeping everyone safe...

I love the resourcefulness of their van. They can go and do everything a $150,000 van can do. The reuse, tie it down, save that piece, and pride of putting it all together is what makes this van priceless. Awesome job.
Thanks so much for putting this together and doing such an amazing job. You shared our story in a way that inspires us to keep on doing it. Anyone can do it if they set their mind to it and aren't afraid to get dirty! You two are great.

I love your interior design, it's just kind of mixed together and straight from the heart. Some people pay 10 times much as you did, but don't even get close to that warm and lovely feeling you made your van.
THE FACT THAT YOU BUILT SOMETHING SO GEORGEOUS FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT!!!! YOU ARE BOTH HAPPY AND LOVING LIFE, YOU ARE ENJOYING THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR!!!! GOOD JOB
What can one say, you are a very grounded couple who obviously love your space and how it works for you. I have to compliment your budget skills and how you love and live together. Looks like you had a lot of fun on the journey. Kind regards to all three of you. Paul from London

I love how cozy and inviting their home is. 🥰
hands down, the nicest van video I've seen. Really nice people and really homely, well planned van.
I always just fast forward to random places in these tiny house/van videos (for random ideas for whenever I move in the future; wether to a house, apt or van/container house) so haven't seen the entirity of this yet...but that sliding table at 4:22 is straight awesome.

I love the position of the lagoon table. Looks like it can pivot over the bed for nighttime movie watching. And the rest of the layout is cozy and is like a happy collage.

Tarot readings, Chrystal balls, horoscopes and other such things are not of Jahova God and therefore they are evil spirits which can bring you serious harm. It is not just a fun game either. You or a loved one or your home can become possessed. If this happens, it's not easy to get a Priest there to rid you of the demon. It's just that they are told to be sure that's what is going on in your home. You should pray, "In God's name, I command you to leave." I know you don't realize that even if you don't take the tarot cards, etc. seriously, it is a very dangerous game. The tarot card readers who have a business bribing people out of their money are lying leaches out to steal everything they can from people. They tell them they need to give them their money so it can be buried, but then they keep the money. Please pray and read Gods word. He will guide and protect you. Realize though that all of us will have hardships and obstacles throughout our live, but he can help more than you can imagine. He said not to have any idols or other gods that he is the only one. May God be with you. Blessings 🙏🏼
Heather and Curtis, you two are adorable! I'm so glad you are living your dream! Thank you for showing us your van build. I pray you will keep safe and continue to do well with your creative businesses, doing what you love. Blessings all the way from Dallas, TX. If in Dallas area, let me know, you may stay in my driveway, Diane
They were so clever with the blue bathroom door! & what they used for their van overall! What also amazes me is how there is the front windshield and then the set of windows on the back doors but on the sides of the van there aren't windows, but looking from the interior, it doesn't feel that way. They have a nice home style set up & although there aren't windows on the side, it's not missing
The water pump sink is frigging genius! I never would have thought of that

I have 2 bengal cats that was 2 and 3 years old when I got them. Took 2 years before the male cat started to warm up so much that he came to sleep on my lap one day :) Before that he would barely let me touch him, the female one is still now 6 years later on the bearly letting me touch her lol. But the male one I have learned to walk on a leach and he was 4 years old when I started, on trip no 5 he started to accept it. Normally they walk freely outside but I was thinking it could come in handy one day if I move to more urban location.
You guys give me hope doing this in the future... Thanks for this video
The dark bathroom door is a nice touch! I love how it looks more like a display wall than a door! Great commonalities - they are lucky to have found each other.

Thank you for addressing the giant bed issue with your couch/bed. I feel like most of the conversion van builds on youtube have these double beds that take up half the floor space. My van has a workspace, galley, tools, guest area, 💩 house (jk 🙃), bike 🚲. Im not gonna lie in bed all day. I dont like to even see a bed till Im ready to sleep 😴 (usually only 6 or 7hrs, if Im 🍀lucky)
Awesome ... Keep Truckin !

Thanks so much! It can be a crazy process, we learned so much and there are always things we could have done differently. Good luck and remember, if we can pull it together, anyone can! Lol
I'm fortunate that a budget isn't an issue. I've debated between hiring someone to do the build and doing it myself as one big art project. The problem I kept facing with professional builds is that they are too perfect looking. Not that it's a bad thing but not right for me apparently. It wasn't until I saw this that I came to this conclusion. Yours looks like an old lived-in home full of history. That's what's lacking from a perfect new build (for me). So THANK YOU for sharing your van home. I needed to see this. 👍 🙂 PS... I do plan to start with a new van as I'm not mechanically inclined. I'm going to go with a Ford Transit. I see too many proprietary issues with a Sprinter.
You guys did a fantastic job on the Van Build.

Love the Tula pink fabric on the bed
Love this! I'm building out my used 2019 PM 136 wb low roof. I'm short and can stand in the back- part of the reason I wanted a low roof. Got a newer one because I wanted it to last a long time and I'm not mechanically inclined. I'm also trying to incorporate recyled items to keep the cost down, and just because I like repurposing things. I'm taking my time, because I can, (about 6 years or so to retirement, when I can travel much more) and I'm trying to figure out my needs/wants... I have 2 older cats, 15 and 14. The older one might be ok riding but the 14yr old not so much. I love the idea of a cat traveling, but not fond of having to have a litter box.
Great build!
Nice. Have fun!
I love your van. I love the kitchen and the sectional you built and can make it as a bed. I am sure there is storage under the sectional. That’s exactly how I would have built my van except made the bathroom a wet bath so I could have a shower. I am sure you could still do that. You can buy a shower pan and plumb it to drain and buy a faucet for the sink that has a long sprayer on it (or just get a plastic sprayer that slips over the sink faucet) and make a cut out and stretch it through the whole and have a hook that it slips into to hold it, put up a couple of shower curtains all the way around the bathroom and there ya go. Set the toilet out when you shower and you have plenty of space. All you would have to do for the drain is run a pipe and connect it somehow to the kitchen gray water jug. *I couldn’t do without a shower in the van* It doesn’t have to be fancy, just needs to serve it’s purpose. As I said, *I absolutely love your ideas and it being so homie* I have been looking for a camper but I really think I want a short bus to build out. I can’t do a van because I have 3 and an 1/8th dog, or I totally would. Enjoy Be Safe 💚
