To top it off, she started wandering at an angle, instead of going straight across. Had to beep my horn. Startled her, she seemed amazed, or unaware she was in the street. This kid was smart great job buddy you stayed calm and got help you need a reward
The fact she was walking so close to him almost stepping on his heels and then holding the door open waiting for him is terrifying.

Too bad kids need a guardian angel these days! 🙏✝️
This is just absolutely frightening. So proud of the little boy for going into to the store. And thank you young lady for helping him.
Smart kids is what really keeps them safe. Some instances is impossible to escape, but in most I believe it is. Very smart kid, and very aware of his surroundings.

In response to your "sometimes there are situations where a kidnapping could br avoided" I say EXACTLY! Some people seemingly can't walk down the block without being glued to their damn phone. Had to stop my car, because a teenager wandered into the street to cross, Never once looking up from their damn electronic contraption. To top it off, she started wandering at an angle, instead of going straight across. Had to beep my horn. Startled her, she seemed amazed, or unaware she was in the street. Then there are those with their headphones on. I don't begrudge a person with headphones on, HOWEVER, you still need to keep your head on a swivel, and be aware of your surroundings!

Or don’t let a kid likely under the age of 10 walk alone in a large city? I lived in a village of 600 people where I can walk up to almost any home with open arms. I still wasn’t aloud to walk home until I was 11, pretty simple don’t let your kids walk alone.

10 is still quite young. Group up or have supervision. Too many variables especially in cities. Not having the privilege of taking care of your kids is, in my humble opinion, not an argument. You need to be there for them. Or train them like Sparta soldiers from the age of 5 and this kid could eat this woman raw.
This kid is absolutely legendary. Amazing quick-thinking! Cheers to the cashier for helping out!
