I wish I could find JT Meleck Rice Whiskey in my Indy market. I so want to taste it.

As a Louisianan, I am very proud of what J.T. Meleck is producing. I’ve been singing their praises after trying their Small Batch. I feel fortune to have purchased numerous single barrels and enjoyed every single one.

The one advantage to being in the Deep South - I thought "Cool, J.T. Meleck" when I saw the shadow bottle in the thumbnail. It is a rather unusual shape.

JT Meleck is one of my favorites! Had to go to 5 different stores in Louisiana before I found someone that knew what I was looking for and before I found a bottle.

This open had me laughing out loud for the first 2 mins. Great episode already 👏🏼

Finally was able to pick up a Specs store pick of J.T. Meleck on a recent trip to TX. Very unique bottle and has turned into one of my favorites to share with friends.

Would like to see a similar 2v2 episode where each of you pick a low and mid price at a similar proof point. Might make it a little more difficult to discern which bottles each person selected. 😁

I love JT Meleck. Ive only found their standard bottle that I had a local store order for me but it's great. I can't understand how a 100% rice mash bill makes so much flavor. Their barrel and aging process are spot on. Idea for an upcoming video; the 10 most expensive bottles y'all have over two shows doing them blind.

I’m new to whiskey, been enjoying the hobby for less than a year, but I got to branch out yesterday and try a rye. Sentinel Rye from AZ finished in mesquite barrels. Guys you HAVE to try it, it has really grown on me and very different from the usual sweet, high proof bourbons I gravitate towards.

I live 2 hours from JT Meleck, and was highly skeptical on the rice whiskey thing forever. Finally took a chance on a cask strength store pick awhile back and its one of my favorite bottles of 2024 no doubt. Classic bourbon flavors, brown sugar, caramel, and the nose is absolutely amazing. Just great whiskey.

I travel to the Hoosier state quite often. I see a lot of unique Indiana bourbons. Be cool to see a show/blind with some of the craft Indiana offerings.

Discovered JT Meleck thanks to your previous videos, can’t wait for my order to arrive for the small batch and new high proof. Keep up the good work Kurt and Trent.

Great vid as always guys. I love that you don’t edit out the goof ups. Of those the only one Ive tried is the JT Melick, got a sample from a friend. I wasn’t a fan though. I’ll have to look and see if I have any of the sample left and give it another go.

That was a fun one! You should do a blind with burbons from store labels, like trader joes, costco's kirkland, etc! Enjoyed the blind, I haven't tried any of those!

When I was in New Orleans for Easter I picked up the small batch and just this past week in TX I came across a store pick single barrel 128 proof both delicious.

This is my favorite type of video that you guys have done! You should do these maybe twice a month ? Once a week would be great by me though !

Toasted Pine nuts have a butteriness to them. It is a tasting note I’ve used in past when the whiskey has a combination of toasty nut and buttery sensation.

As a South African, very proud to see a bottle of Amarula cream sticking out behind Trenton. Why don't you try South Africa's version of Bourbon, its called Bains Whisky and is insanely good. Won a couple of international awards as well. You wont be dissapointed.

Would you consider doing a review of the Yellowstone bourbon from Limestone Branch? At least where I'm at there is 5 or 6 different offerings from them at my local store.

I don't know about you, but as soon as 24 hour marathon of Christmas Story comes on here in the south all tv's in the house have it playing until it shuts off and it's always been that way. As to the actual topic, I am a huge fan of great bourbons at the $40-50 range. Most of my rookie bourbon friends are not ever going to get into it because they think they have to spend over $100 a bottle to find something worth learning about, but it's not true.

Interesting video. You guys sorta got the "sour stone fruit" or exotic fruit notes in the James Pepper, the same as you did when you reviewed it a few months ago (without the flavored latex glove notes). Either you like it less tonight, or it isn't as good as Trader Joe's cask strength...which is saying something.

Next tournament idea.. same concept 2v2 and your brackets are based off proof points. You each pick your favorite two bottles in that proof point and go head to head in a blind. Start with 80 and work your way up. Winning bottle moves to the next round
