@@Gizzor The thing about Vergil is that he is extremely punishing if you don't know the fight because his attacks are pretty devastating when they hit but the fight is kinda easy when you know his attacks and can dodge or royal guard them all. These guys aren't as punishing but since there are 3 of them it's way harder to dodge/block all attacks.

To me, the hardest thing about this mission isn't actually beating it, just S-ranking it.

Here’s an idea: do the Vergil fight as Dante...DMC3 style. Two weapons. No style switching.

In my DMD playthrough I was just chilling out fearing what Vergil would do to me... turns out these 3 guys are so much more complicated

You're outnumbered, versus two bosses from the first game... And an enemy when encountered in Dante Must Die or... Especially in THAT secret mission.... Yeah. You were expecting a battle of a horde of Empusa ants? The legendary dark knight difficulty is just down the hall.

The bird always kills me. It's werid cuz I play v the most and the I still die during this.

This fight was by far the most frustratingly difficult but also the most satisfying and fun mission to play once you learn how to control the chaos lol . I recently just S ranked this mission on DMD and i really enjoyed it overall

It's hard because you don't want to hurt them. So we held back.

I'm just a faust noob, red hot night is the apocalypse for anything that moves

Man got emotionally hurt when he lost his style meter

Nothing in the whole series hit harder than Griffon's talk with Dante

This fight was by far the hardest for me to learn and i still cant do it perfect no damage, like i probably spent more attempts on vergil or king Cerberus, but after S ranking all the missions on normal difficulty this is by far my least polished boss, like i seriously got lucky

this fight for me was one of the best boss fights in this game

We've been with them for so long then they betray us with one of the hardest boss fights.

I still have PTSD trying to S rank this mission on HaH.

I want to ask. In order to win this fight. We need to kill Nightmare, right? The boss health bar is for Nightmare, right? Griffon and Shadow is just the nuisance that will disturb us, right?

I think Vergil is actually fairly difficult on his face, it's just that like every DMC 5 players has run that fight like 50 times and knows everything about it lol.

Hardest mission in the game for S rank by FAR I ended up just playing it like dmc1 which was actually very fun

Nah, stinger isn’t very useful on any of those enemies in 1 except DT Stinger on Shadow Core. I use E&I the most as far as guns go. I played mostly a ranged game in 5 on these fights. Which was good Gunslinger practice haha

This fight took me like 20 minutes on normal difficulty. Crazy how you did with in 5 and with them having more health.

I can No Damage Vergil on DMD but this boss is still a nightmare (pun intended) even on SOS. Some of shadow and griffons moves are near instant.

This mission is a pain in the ass to S rank. I'm comforted in knowing even the pros struggle with this one.

Ah yes. I see you used the "just die already" skill at the end of a frustrating experience. Well, near the end, but still. Nothing out-rages The Luce.

I remember playing this boss and I started with 5 Golden Orbs, by the time I got to Virgil I had nothing and it was become of fucking Eago and the Jungle Book over here.

Griffon is a G "This is the end of Vergil nightmares".. if someone knows the lore of DMC you know how deep and heavy this line hits after everything he suffered throughout his whole life, it was never fucking ending suffering... I decided to do a playthrough of dantes missions using only the cavalier this one was the hardest

God. That finish was...... wow

can you do a series of videos where you beat vergil as nero but each video you only beat him with only one devil breaker

I could just barely clear this boss fight, but it was like, B because it took me too long. Several tries I got hit by a shadow pincusshion and things would always spiral downwards from there.

Ngl, as entertaining as these videos are..I *really* can't help but wonder wishing I could see SSSmoke play some DMC4 & DMC3 :3 ... while still sharing DMC5 content

I just started playing this again yesterday after not understanding the combat. Came back to mission 8 I believe? Now I’m on mission 12 and have Dante and holy crap the game is so much for fun with him. Although I did start getting better as Nero and V. And I’m finally getting a handle on how the combos and stuff work although I’m still pretty clunky at it and really bad and keeping combos going or changing weapons to extend them while also changing styles. It’s crazy how diverse the combat is and I’m surprised it wasn’t more talked about when it came out. Nothing like the old DMC games that I remember which were basically just hack and slash.

I was literally raging at this Stage on DMD last night! This trio... I was so close a few times... this is among the last for DMD S ranks... only 4 stages left....

Theyre so hard I dont even bother figting them. I just use RHN

Even though this boss isn't really well made and really unfair, I liked it just because is the only fight that makes feel like my back is against the wall. Anyway, great video smoke

I only beat them on SoS without dr paytokill once tbh and that was really only because I had a tiny bit of their health to go and I was dumb and got hit. Didn't feel I had it in me to repeat, used a gold orb. Will admit I lost count of how many I used in the Duel

I got the game a lot later than release but I can say on the first playthrough this boss was not as hard as vergil. However now after playing the game over several times this boss is a lot harder to get a good style rank than on vergil for me

boss fights with multiple enemies are always a pain

I like to think the way Dante said "*smack* It's been a bash" is a callback to how Vergil said it in 3.

This mission is the bane of S ranks.

Any tips to S rank this on DMD? I always take too much damage and end up with an A.

I can tell that Judgement at the end was a "fuck it I'm done with this" moment

You should definitely play Mission 13 online with Blossom! That'd be fun to watch.

The only way I could S rank this level on Hell and Hell was to Trickster dodge everything, shoot with Dr. Faust whenever there it was safe, and use Red Hot Night once the coast was clear. Dante Must Die, I did it a little more honorable, but it took me like a thousand tries before I could beat it without dying.

This battle took 5 almost 6 minutes, but it hurts the whole life

If it wasn't for Griffon being the best character in the game I would probably solidly say this fight is the absolute worst. As it stands though he redeems it just enough for me to put it above Gilgamesh in terms of unfun factor.

TBH completing this mission wasn't the biggest problem, but S-ranking it was pure hell. Finally scraped an S rank on DMD mode today. And if this is what your gameplay looks like when you struggle, then there''s no hope fore the rest of us

Man ngl, I hated them on DMD in DMC1, especially Nightmare 3, FUCK YOU DMD NIGHTMARE 3, but in all honesty, I'm gonna miss them Rip little chicken, let it be known that your level's actually the biggest pain in the ass

I hated this mission at the beginning. Now it is my most favourite mission, because I have got better with Dante! :D S Rank on DMD - EASY MONEY!! :D (Without Faust of course) Super stoked for Vergil gameplay with SE! Can't wait to get my PS5.

I'm so sad that Dante doesn't call him feather face in his last moments... It would've been a fantastic call back at the perfect time but unfortunately they didn't.

Actually Vergil is much easier than this trio.

I thought you were some casual that spammed stinger on Human from the title but boy was I wrong. DMC bosses are always hard at first. It just takes time.

I've gotten an A or higher on every DMD mission except this one, which I've still got a big fat C on. This is easily the toughest fight in the game, in my opinion.
